Psychological aspects of insect consumption: Eating attitudes and eating behaviour towards insects, ways of their change and influencing
Kosík, Petr ; Děchtěrenko, Filip (advisor) ; Veverová, Kateřina (referee)
The thesis focuses on food attitudes towards entomophagy and the topic of their change with the aim of expanding knowledge about these attitudes, their determinants, and possibilities for their effective influencing. The literature review section summarizes findings on individual aspects and determinants of attitudes towards entomophagy, mechanisms of changing food attitudes, and strategies for influencing attitudes towards entomophagy. Although there are studies abroad mapping the openness to entomophagy and its determinants, this topic is almost unexplored in Czech literature. Furthermore, while foreign experiments have tested the effectiveness of strategies for influencing attitudes towards entomophagy, none have yet examined the effect of active social modelling. In the research section, we present two studies responding to the described situation: firstly, a questionnaire survey of 818 participants obtained through quota sampling from the adult Czech population, which found a rather low level of willingness to consume insect-based foods, as well as a higher preference for foods with undetectable insect presence. It also revealed a relationship between gender, age, experience, familiarity with entomophagy, and willingness to consume insect-based foods. Secondly, we report an experiment on 184...
Patent litigation with international element
Košík, Petr ; Kříž, Jan (advisor) ; Čada, Karel (referee) ; Pítra, Vladimír (referee)
With the development of society, we get into situations where it is also necessary to protect what cannot be touched. We begin to get into a situation where we protect what cannot be reached, which is intangible rights. If we look into the past, the first kind of intangible right could be God's blessing as we can learn about it in the Bible. Many years later, the issue of electric current is solved, where the electric current is only taken as an accessory to the main thing, the metal wire, which is the electric conductor. In today's world, however, electricity is a separate thing, but it cannot be touched, touched even though it is all around us and it is a universally transformable source of energy. The same issue arises in the area of protection of rights arising from intellectual activity and implemented also in intangible form. The protection of intangible law and its one particular part - patent (patent protection) is the main interest of this work. Intangible rights are protected by individual states around the world when interactions between owners or violators of individual rights around the world occur very often. The dissertation on Patent Litigation with an International Element deals with that part of the interaction between the proprietors and infringers of patent-protected rights,...
The Effect of Meditation Techniques on Selected Cognitive Functions
Kosík, Petr ; Stehlík, Luděk (advisor) ; Novák, Ondřej (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the effect of one selected type of meditation, namely mindfulness meditation, on attention as one category of cognitive functions. The theoretical part of the thesis provides characterization of the mindfulness type of meditation in comparison to the concentrative type of meditation. Then, it discusses the construct of mindfulness and its various conceptualizations in Western research literature and also concerns its original conception in the Buddhist religious context. Alongside this, it provides information about possible conceptualizations of meditative cultivation of mindfulness and about selected clinical programs including mindfulness meditation as one of their intervention tools. Thereafter, it presents classification of individual domains of attention used in current literature and outlines possible ways of their operationalization. The very core of the first part of the thesis comprises a summary of current findings about the influence of mindfulness meditation on selected attentional domains and a reflection of the limitations of current studies. The second part of the thesis proposes an experimental research project, which would examine the efficiency of mindfulness meditation, compared with concentrative meditation, with regard to their effect on selected...
