Tunsag, Tsolmon ; Kopecká, Věra (advisor) ; Gregor, Vít (referee)
Music composer Sembe Gonchigsumlaa is considered as a founder of Mongolian classic music. His life and work essentially influenced a development of Mongolian classic music that's why I have chosen this topic as a title of my diploma thesis. The chapter one presents a brief description of the Mongolian political and cultural background from the early 20th century till today, it's the key to understand the development of Mongolian classic music. Mongolia was influenced by classic Western culture, introduced from Russia. In the end of the chapter are described notable music institutions of Mongolia. The chapter two is dedicated to the composer's life and work from his early steps of composing until the masterpieces. In the last chapter I focus on composer's concentration to the piano as a fundamental instrument of classic music. Gonchigsumlaa was involved in many musical institutions and guided the evolution to ensure systematical and methodical education of amateur, professional musicians and composers. Mongolian composers combine traditional elements with modern classic techniques to produce unique sounds and compositions.

The thesis is subdivided into several chapters, drawing on available psychological and methodological literature, piano course books and a questionnaire survey. The first chapter focuses on a beginner piano learner as an individual undergoing a particular stage of psychological development. It explores learners' general as well as music- specific characteristics and links these characteristics to piano playing. In addition, it describes motivational tendencies prevailing at different development stages, and other factors which can substantially influence the learning process, but have not hitherto been discussed with respect to piano teaching in greater detail although a pedagogue can more easily deal with potential problems that may arise at beginner levels when thoroughly informed. It namely discusses learning and teaching styles, hindrances to learning and learning disabilities. The second chapter is devoted to methodological specifics of teaching learners of different age groups. The third chapter then expands on the subject of beginner piano teaching specifics, comparing techniques used in beginner piano books aimed at various...

International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition and Chopin Festival in Mariánské Lázně The annual Chopin festival in Mariánské Lázně is an event of a supreme significance. Its dramaturgy and diverse selection of performers bring the listeners an interesting and extraordinary experience of Chopin's music. Chopin Festival is one of our most treasured cultural events. It became a meeting point for artists from all over the world, but the core group consists of Polish interpreters, mostly laureates of the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. Besides the time-proven compositions, the organizers include some infrequently played and unknown pieces, the works of Czech and foreign composers or contemporary artists. They also attracted the audience by inviting popular performers, amateur ensembles, holding golf and tennis tournaments, exhibitions or film projections. Lately, the festival has been getting back to its traditional image and the purpose of celebrating Chopin's music. The piano competition, interpreter seminars and musicologist seminars are still a part of the event. The Chopin Festival is the only one in Czech that has been listed by UNESCO and is widely popular. It is necessary to point out the efforts and credit of the main organizers, the Fryderyk Chopin Society in Mariánské...
