Tree-ring chronologies of Norway-spruce on west-east longitudinal gradient in the mountain ranges of central Europe
Ponocná, Tereza ; Treml, Václav (advisor) ; Kolář, Tomáš (referee) ; Vejpustková, Monika (referee)
The Earth's climate system has recently experienced substantial warming which likely impacts temperature-limited communities close to their distribution margins. The alpine treeline ecotone represents upper distributional limit of montane/subalpine forests. This biogeographic boundary relies mainly on decreasing temperature with increasing elevation. Surprisingly the response of treeline ecotone to ongoing warming has varied a lot and the reasons of this variability are poorly understood. The aim of this dissertation thesis is the assessment of growth trends and tree ring response of Norway spruce (Picea abies[L.] Karst.) to climatic oscillations at treelines and montane forests of East-Central Europe. This dissertation deals with both inter-regional and intra-regional (aspect, elevation) variability of tree growth. The presented results are based on an extensive data set of growth curves for almost 1400 trees. All study sites revealed close relationship between tree ring widths and growing season temperatures as well as the temperatures of October preceding to ring formation season. The main site-dependent differences in growth trends and temperature responses were attributed to elevation, the effect of aspect was relatively less significant. At treelines between the Krkonoše Mts. and Nízké Tatry...
Tree-ring chronology of Norway spruce, a study from the Eastern Krkonoše Mts.
Janda, Martin ; Kolář, Tomáš (referee) ; Treml, Václav (advisor)
3 ABSTRACT Presented thesis is focused on the development of Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) dendrochronologic standard for the high elevation zone of the Eastern Krkonoše Mts.. Samples were taken from individuals growing either in supramontane forest or in the treeline ecotone. Additional increment cores were sampled in old cottages and chalets. Various elements of roof constructions and timbering were the source of dendrochronologic material. Aim of the thesis was to develop long and reliable tree-ring chronology using standardisation techniques which retain also lower frequency climate variations. Two standard tree-ring chronologies were developed - first using double detrending standardisation (DD, 1792-2006), second using regional curve standardisation (RCS, 1811- 1970). Analyzed historic material significantly differs from tree-ring curves derived from standing trees, thus achieving the composite chronology was impossible. Cottage no. 9 in Svoboda nad Úpou is with its origin after AD 1711 outstanding among thirteen successfully dated historic buildings. Both RCS even DD chronologies retain lower frequency variations. DD chronology can be successfully used in events and some buildings dating. Response function analysis was made using monthly instrumental records from the Sněžka meteorological...
Optimalization of material flow in automotive industry
Kolář, Tomáš ; Jirsák, Petr (advisor) ; Vinš, Marek (referee)
This master thesis is focussed on optimalization of material flow in an automotive company. First part introduce theoretical background. Automotive industry and its actual trends on global markets. Follows short introduction of the company where project of this thesis was executed. Main theoretical part describes concept of lean management, its tools in practical examples, but it is also focussed on philosophical approach to the work and mindset of the company. Follows the aplication part based on theoretical background. The whole project of this master thesis is focussed on specific area called PC store. At first this area is showed in context of overall material flow. Shortly there are introduced processes and areas where full material packaging flows. Follows deeper analysis and optimalization of PC store itself. There are three approaches of stock and lead time reduction applied. Last part shows the comparison of initial and future state including performed changes.
Retention basins and sewers on the sewer network
Kolář, Tomáš ; Raček, Jakub (referee) ; Raclavský, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the design, operation and management of retention basins and retention sewers to sewerage networks. There is also mentioned their purpose, function and use, their distribution, building design, construction and equipment. Below are two specific examples of retention reservoirs in Brno and short summary of number of retention ponds in selected Czech cities. Part of the work is a model example of calculating the amount of retention basins and retention ditches for the village of Horní Lapač.
Short-term credits in international trade
Kolář, Tomáš ; Černohlávková, Eva (advisor) ; Vlčková, Veronika (referee)
The bachelor thesis is focused on the role of the short-term credits in international trade. It describes the problems and risks of the international credits and also suggests possible solutions how to manage these risks with the help of payment terms or securing instruments.
Implementation of common economic policy in the EU and its development during the crises
Kolář, Tomáš ; Čajka, Radek (advisor) ; Melcher, Ota (referee)
Objective of this bachelor thesis is to eveluate existing process of implementation of common economic policy in the EU and based on this analysis outline a future progress. This thesis draws especially out of current progress in the time of crisis. The biggest part is dedicated to the elements of fiscal coordination. There is a historical context and ties between individual states taken into account as well. The greatest benefit of this thesis is the last part. Based on stated data a current situation is analyzed and possible future progress is outlined. Thesis offers several possible scenarios where historical and existing progress is taken into account.
The influence of kinetic activity on correct body posture\\
KOLÁŘ, Tomáš
The aim of the diploma paper was to test a complete fitness of pupils in the 6th class in the primary school in České Budějovice and to affect forming of the correct carriage of body habit by pointed motion activities. The objects of my research were two groups of probands from the 6th class of the primary school. Altogether, 40 probands were submitted to the research. They were separated to the two equal groups, as the experimental one and as the control one. At the beginning, I tested, found out and documented the complete fitness and mainly I found out the correct carriage of body of the both groups. Inclusion of compensatory and toning exercises for the correct carriage of body into the PE for the six-week period by the exercise plan done by myself followed. I did exercises for strengthening the abdominal and back muscles and exercises for stretching the muscles along the vertebral column with the experimental group of 20 probands. The control group had during the exercise plan ordinary PE lessons by school curriculum led by the PE teacher. The Matthias method was used for the evaluation of the carriage of body and the Ruffier test was used for finding the complete fitness. Everything was written down, compiled and evaluated in charts and graphs for its objectification. The results showed that the pupils in the 6th class in the primary school have nowadays very bad complete fitness and they cannot assume the correct upright posture. Also weakened abdominal muscles and shortened quadrates lumbar muscle were showed up on the most of the pupils.
