Kickboxing technique and the frequency of use in ring disciplines: a systematic review
Kohout, Ondřej ; Omcirk, Dan (advisor) ; Oláh, Vladan (referee)
Title: Kickboxing techniques and the frequency of their use in ring disciplines: a systematic review Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to determine the frequency of individual techniques used during fights in full-contact kickboxing matches at international level based on a systematic review of scientific publications. Methods: The method used to create this bachelor thesis was a systematic review based on a referred selection of items in accordance with PRISMA recommendations. First, a research question was set to determine the frequency of techniques used in ring disciplines (K-1 and Low kick) in kickboxing. Using predefined keywords and Boolean operators, a search script was developed to search scientific databases such as the Web of Science, PubMed and Scopus. Duplicate studies were removed from search results and the final number of studies was reduced according to predefined criteria. Eligible studies were used for data analysis and subsequent synthesis. Results: Out of the total number of studies found (n = 347), ten studies were used for the results of this systematic search. The most commonly used technique in kickboxing ring disciplines was identified as the Jab. Two studies have identified the Jab as the technique with the highest frequency of use, while three other studies...
Comparing strategies when solving some types of word problems
Kohout, Ondřej ; Vondrová, Naďa (advisor) ; Novotná, Jarmila (referee)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of comparing strategies when solving selected types of word problems. The theoretical part deals with the notion of concept cartoons, selected types of word problems, the process and strategies for solving word problems and the results of foreign studies that focus on the influence of the comparison of solving strategies in teaching mathematics. The practical part of the work includes an analysis of selected Czech textbooks of mathematics for the lower secondary school, including teacher books, focusing both on the occurrence of multiple solving strategies for the same word problem and on didactic approach to the selected types of word problems. The core of the work is 15 original worksheets, consisting of concept cartoons, in which two hypothetical students present their solutions to the same type of a word problem. This work also includes a proposal on how to implement such a worksheet in class, along with a proposal for a possible continuation of the use of comparing strategies in mathematics teaching.
Lower and Middle Turonian ammonites of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin
Kohout, Ondřej ; Košťák, Martin (advisor) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (referee)
This thesis addresses the systematics and taxonomics of the ammonite assemblages of the Lower and Middle Turonian of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin (BCB). It describes nineteen species of fifteen genera. Amongst others it concerns: Watinoceras coloradoense (Henderson), Spathites (Jeanrogericeras) reveliereanum (Courtiller), Paramammites sp. cf. P. polymorphus (Perervinquière), and Lecointricecras carinatum (Kennedy et al.) from the BCB, which have been described for the very first time. Another important taxon that is described is Prionocyclus albinus (Fritsch), which has not been encountered in the BCB since the year 1872 when it was established as a holotype by A. Fritsch. This specimen is now deposited in the National Museum in Prague. Most of these significant taxa belong to the collection of Dr. J. Soukup. He collected the specimens in various locations near Žďánice u Kouřimi mainly in the first half of the 20th century. The locations no longer exist. Stratigraphically important zonal ammonites, primarily W. coloradoense and Fagesia catinus (Mantell), are a direct evidence of the presence of two ammonite zones in the lower Lower Turonian in this part of the BCB (the zones Watinoceras coloradoense/devonense and Fagesia catinus). They also illustrate a larger stratigraphical extent of...
Way to Philosophy Using Drama Educational Methods
Kohout, Ondřej ; MARUŠÁK, Radek (advisor) ; VALENTA, Josef (referee)
The focus of the bachelor thesis is to offer a profound insight into the use of drama education as a form of teaching philosophy. Drama education has proven its usefulness in many school subjects. The advantage of drama education is that it connects a topic with a direct experience. Unfortunately, direct experience and its connection to real life is what is philosophy missing. The thesis shows different approaches to use of drama education in teaching of philosophy based on basic division of philosophical disciplines. It concerns drama education as a way to mediate philosophical text to students via preparation of a theatrical performance, but also drama education as a particular method to be used in class. The thesis includes also a report of a practical realization of a project focused on Socrates and Plato’s view on the relation of an individual and society.
Ibn Bājja: The Governance of the Solitary
Kohout, Ondřej ; Kropáček, Luboš (advisor) ; Válová, Dita (referee)
The focus of the thesis is an explanation of specifics of Ibn Bâjja's political philosophy as it is presented in his most famous writing The Governance of the Solitary (Tadbír al-mutawahhid). The thesis should introduce how is Ibn Bâjja's thinking based on work of ancient authors and what are its foundations. This is the reason why it will be necessary to look into al-Fārābī and his political philosophy, however, it will be also important to see how much is Ibn Bâjja's work influenced by thinking of Plato's and Aristotle's politically oriented writings. Despite the historical aspect of the thesis, it will be crucial to show possible parallels to contemporary political thinking and the status of philosopher/intellectual in society. A part of the thesis is also Czech translation of the first chapter of The Governance of the Solitary focusing on two fundamental concepts of Ibn Bâjja's philosophy - "governance" and "solitary".
Lower Turonian ammonites of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin: taxonomic synopsis, stratigraphy and palaeoecology
Kohout, Ondřej ; Košťák, Martin (advisor) ; Ziegler, Václav (referee)
This thesis summarizes the findings of lower Turonian ammonites of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin (BCB). It presents an overview of the most important taxonomic species and their brief morphology and paleoecology. Marginally, it describes sedimentary facies of the BCB which belongs to the lower Turonian ("Bílá Hora" Formation). Part is devoted to determining the stratotype between Cenomanian and Turonian, to the events that occurred during this period (CTBE, OAE II) and their impact on biocoenosis of early Turonian ammonites. This thesis tries to comprehend the importance of ammonites biostratigraphy to define the Lower Turonian and basic ammonites zones, which belongs to this period. Defining stratotype Cenomanian / Turonian has not yet been satisfactorily resolved and this work is the basis for further research and study. Key words: ammonite, Bohemian Cretaceous Basin, biostratigraphy, Turonian, paleoecology
Vinculum substantiale
Kohout, Ondřej ; Palkoska, Jan (advisor) ; Hill, James (referee)
In my bachelor's thesis, I focus on the hypothesis of a substantial bond ("vinculum substantiale") in Leibniz's later philosophy. I discuss the whole conception of a substance - main definitions and necessary implications, which have crucial importance for my thesis. After this ontological exposition, I continue with the interpretation of the Christian's mystery of the Eucharist. This one is very important for my thesis because the substantial bond was also meant to solve the problem of the transubstantiation. After these preliminary discussions, I try to show the most important aspects and interpretations of the substantial bond. The outcome of my thesis is a thorough explanation of this hypothesis.
