Junková, Kateřina ; Kurtinová, Olga (advisor) ; Kalibová, Květa (referee)
Social Housing in Social Policy Abstract This diploma thesis focuses on the current system of social housing in the context of the social policy of the Czech Republic. It deals with individual problem groups using social housing, involves the research of social housing situation in other European countries and the overall historical context that has led to the current social housing situation in the Czech Republic. The theoretical framework aims to the housing itself and family policy issues, all closely associated with the main topic. Since the subject is complex and broad, the analytical framework concentrates on social housing issues of the Prague 7 district. Current population in this particular territory is largely influenced by increased number of immigration of people mostly aged 20−45. As a result, the overall population is younger than in other parts and the number of seniors living in Prague 7 municipal district has been continuously decreasing. The outcomes of the population projection to the year 2050 suggest the proportion of age groups will probably change, and a high population growth is likely to happen under given assumptions. The life expectancy at birth and mean age of mothers at first childbirth increase, respecting nationwide trend. One of the other important factors is the availability...

Dyussupova, Saule ; Rychtaříková, Jitka (advisor) ; Kalibová, Květa (referee)
Recent changes in marital and extramarital fertility according to ethnicity in Kazakhstan Saule Dyussupova Abstract Contemporary Kazakhstan has experienced different social and political changes since being an independent country. These changes influenced demographic processes such as fertility. The number of live births per one woman has altered, but what were the changes among ethnicities and what type of fertility has changed more: marital or extramarital? To answer these questions more sizable ethnicities in Kazakhstan, which are Kazakhs, Russians, Ukrainians and Uzbeks were chosen. After examining the trends for the above mentioned ethnicities, their demographic positions in marital and extramarital fertility were explained. Meanwhile, despite the fact that the social-cultural attitudes of each ethnicity differ from each other, the tendency in marital fertility was going up among all ethnicities and in case of extramarital fertility, mostly among non and mixed traditional ethnicities was going down. Thus, based on the results of the research, the author has concluded the following: after the stabilization of economic and political conditions in the country the number of marital births increased, whereas traditional ethnicity (Uzbek) has experienced the fastest increase in the proportion of extramarital...

Kumarbekova, Gulzana ; Pavlík, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Kalibová, Květa (referee)
Population ageing and its consequences on development of social policy in Kazakhstan Gulzana Kumarbekova Abstract Population ageing is a social process which represents one of the most important changes in the population development in the 20th and 21st centuries. The intensity, timing and speed of this process have been varying throughout history; reaching its highest peak in contemporary societies. The population ageing process is particularly evident in countries that have finalized the process of demographic revolution, i.e. developed countries. Population ageing is a serious concern in these countries as ageing is already well spread and continues to do so, posing significant challenges to the economy of pension schemes and social policy. The present study (master dissertation) describes the interdependence between this process and the development of social policy in Kazakhstan. According to population forecasts, rapid population ageing is expected in Kazakhstan as decreased birth rates will inevitably result in changes in the age structure. Keywords: population, ageing, Kazakhstan, social policy. Старение населения - это социальный процесс, который представляет собой один из наиболее важных изменений в развитии населения в 20-м и 21-м веках. Saparbekova, Ainur ; Kocourková, Jiřina (advisor) ; Kalibová, Květa (referee) ; Pavlík, Zdeněk (referee)
Migration policy and its role in implementation of population development strategy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Abstract This work addresses the issues of migration policy and its role in population development of Kazakhstan. Migration and demographic development of the Republic of Kazakhstan had become prominent subjects of strategic policy under the new geopolitical reality and socio-economic development since the early 1990s. The intensive outflow of population during this period resulted in change of different quantitative as well as qualitative population characteristics. At the same time, the ethno-demographic disproportions maintained in the previous decades speeded up the "nation-building" process which was represented namely by policy on ethnic return migration. Thus, under these circumstances migration and demographic policies were placed among the priority issues of national security of the RK. In this contexts, the analysis presented in the submitted disseartion displays the effect of migration flows on demographic, socio- economic and ethnic composition of population. It considers the effect of policy measures on managing migration processes. The thesis finally analyzes the role of migration policy in demographic development of the country which has been closely connected with the strategic...
Development of the secondary sex ratio in the world
Mielniczková, Aneta ; Pavlík, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Kalibová, Květa (referee)
Development of secondary sex ratio in the world Abstract A secondary sex ratio is one of the surveyed population sex ratios. The goal is to describe the development of this index in 1950-2008 period in the world. First, the world is analyzed at the level of "subregion", followed by the analysis of the continents and then a summary of the results. Calculations for the level of "subregion" are compared with estimates of the UN. Analysis of the continent is displayed through the use of frequency tables, which are displaying the development of the index in time along with data availability. The summary of this paper consists of theoretical assumptions that could affect the child's sex. That is why, these assumptions are often associated with epigenetic factors influencing the sex of some animals. In the analysis of the secondary sex ratio the importance of data reliability, which plays a key role, is highlighted. Unfortunately, for Africa there had to be used insufficient data, in places where the value significantly fluctuated. On the contrary, the advanced countries have provided quality data. Most of the expected assumptions were confirmed by the results. Keywords: secondary sex ratio, the sex ratio at birth, influences on the sex
