Quality of gastronomical services

Bachelor thesis deals with the quality of services offered in gastronomy. The aim of this work is to analyze the perception of gastronomic service quality and the subsequent creation of proposals for their possible improvement. In theoretical part of the thesis are defined terms as gastronomy, gastronomical services and quality. Subsequently, their development and history are also described. The practical part consists of a research about perception of the quality of gastronomical services and the interview with professional cook Roman Vaněk. Included are also suggestions, which can possibly improve the quality in gastronomy and which are based on results of the research and interview findings.
Sri Lanka - Economy and Position in the International Tourism Market

This diploma thesis deals with the economy and the position of Sri Lanka in the international tourism market. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the performance of Sri Lankan economy and the country's position in the international tourism market. The thesis also concentrates on assessing the competitiveness of both the economy and the tourism industry. The development of the country is analyzed since the end of the civil war. The first chapter theoretically defines key concepts related to the issue of international tourism. The second chapter deals with the economy of Sri Lanka. Firstly, the structure of economy is introduced. Secondly, macroeconomic indicators and international trade are assessed and thirdly, the competitiveness of Sri Lankan economy is analyzed. The third chapter deals with tourism in Sri Lanka. After the presentation of tourism preconditions, the economic characteristics of the sector and of its impact on the national economy follow. The organizational structure and the tourism competitiveness are evaluated afterwards. Finally, SWOT analysis of the tourism industry in Sri Lanka is conducted.
Development of municipalities and rural areas in the context of EU funds

The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the problem of structural funds in the EU from the point of view of development in municipalities and rural areas. The thesis looks into European Regional Development Fund and European Agricultural Fund For Rural Development and it follows up with operational programs (Rural development IROP, INTERREG), which are from these funds financed the most, and also concerning its priorities. There is also mentioned current socio-economic situation of municipalities in Moravian-Silesian region. The second part of this thesis is focused on possibilities of development of selected municipality in the border area. It evaluates its current situation from the perspective of using EU funds. In the end it was elaborated a case study focusing on the development of tourism in the village and in its surroundings, which would correspond to the strategic development of the municipality and at the same time it gives a method for drawing up the project plan that could be used in the future.
Incoming tourism in Greece

This thesis is focused on Greece from the perspective of inbound tourism. At the beginning of the thesis the theoretical background is explained, where attention is focused on the explanation of the term tourism and on the different types and forms of tourism. The second chapter focuses more closely on Greece as an attractive tourist destination with a large number of tourist attractions. There is basic country-specific information about tourism. The main objective of this thesis is to evaluate how the inbound tourism developed in the country between 2000 and 2015. In this part the thesis deals in detail with the arrivals of individual countries, which accounted for the largest share of the total arrivals. In addition, international arrivals are divided by the number of means of transport and the number of nights spent in accommodation facilities. At the end of the thesis SWOT analysis is carried out, which brings a more comprehensive view of this country. Based on this analysis, suggestions and recommendations are the results that seek to eliminate weaknesses and promote opportunities.
Accommodation establishments and possibilities of distribution focusing on OTAs

The aim of this thesis is to explain the importance of the internet and online travel agencies as one of the most important parts in the distribution of accommodation. The thesis includes a demonstration of cooperation between a particular accommodation establishment and its OTAs, which are also analysed. In conclusion, are suggested measures leading to optimize the distribution.
Entrepreneurship plan for a new guest house

Master thesis aims to define entrepreneurship including lodging services, shows basic information about how to create entrepreneurship plan and afterwards making particular one about a concrete guest house. In the introduction you will find out the basic information about entrepreneurship and also about dividing accommodation services. Those information precede better understanding of the practical part, in which thesis aims to concrete opportunities of entrepreneurship based on a guest house in Karlovy Vary.
Animation services in the Czech Republic

The diploma thesis deals with animation services as the important complementary service of tourism industry. The introductory part theoretically specifies the term animation and determines its history. It also explains main elements that affect animation. Furthermore, it clarifies the profession of animator and activity of animation team. The next part of the thesis analyses the functioning of animation services of the holders of the tourism offer in the Czech Republic, particularly in hotels, water parks, swimming pools and spas. The final part of the thesis summarizes suggestions that could improve the level of animation services in this country.
Business and marketing strategy of four-star hotel in Prague

Master's thesis deals with the formation of business and marketing strategy with application to specific four-star hotel in Prague. First part is focused on basic definitions and importance of accommodation in tourism industry, followed by summary of theory needed for development of quality strategy. Practical part is dedicated to analysis of external and internal environment of the hotel, analysis of its competition and proposals to supplement the current business and marketing strategy.
Hotel systems

The aim of this thesis is to analyze and compare hotel systems Hores and Protel. The first part highlights the application of the information and communication technologies in general in tourism. The second part focuses on hotel systems used both worldwide and in the Czech Republic. Subsequently, it concentrates in detail on Hores and Protel systems. In the last part, the beforehand chosen parameters are analyzed and evaluated. In addition, the results of carried out questionnaire are presented and assessed. Furthermore, a SWOT analysis evidences the negatives and positives of both systems. In the end, the thesis states the overall evaluation of the systems and presents proposed changes.
MICE TOURISM IN PRAGUE WITH A FOCUS ON ORGANIZING THE ICCA 2017 CONGRESS

This thesis deals with the topic of congress tourism, which is perceived as a substantially attractive form of tourism in many destinations. The practical part focuses on the annual congress organized by ICCA - a significant international conference association, that Prague will host in 2017. The aim of this work is to characterize the sector of convention industry with emphasis on the segment of congresses and conferences organized by associations and other non-profit organizations, and subsequently to evaluate the steps the entities participating in preparation and execution of the ICCA prestigious congress have taken so far.
