Design of Gravity Wall in Terms of Flysch Geology
Horňáková, Lenka ; Fiala, Radek (referee) ; Brdečková, Helena (advisor)
The bachelor´s thesis is divided to two main parts, from which first is focused on the theory of reinforced concrete retaining walls. The second, practical part deals with design and assessment of the cantilever breast wall supporting the sloping slope in place of annex of congress hall situated above the northern wall of Tatra´s hotel in Velke Karlovice. The labor contains processing of geomorphology and geology surrounding area, load, sample calculation cantilever breast wall and its assessment.
Analysis of the way of the route through the sloping area of the D1 motorway in the SR
Horňáková, Lenka ; Horák, Vlastimil (referee) ; Horák, Vladislav (advisor)
The construction of motorways in Slovakia faces a series of geotechnical problems due to the mountainous relief. One of these problems is also discussed in this diploma thesis, where the motorway route is led through a landslide area. The aim of the thesis is to compare two different proposals of the D1 motorway in part of Hubova - Ivachnova section. The theoretical part deals with the issue of slope movements in connection with transport line constructions. In the practical part, the proposals for specific solutions of the high embankment route variant and variant with the bridge are discussed. Both variants are designed in the Plaxis numeric program. Subsequent comparison and evaluation of variants is performed in relation to the degree of stability, deformation, structural stress and construction costs.
Effect of bilateral transfer on shooting with the dominant hand in basketball
Horňáková, Lenka ; Velenský, Michael (advisor) ; Kaprálek, Tomáš (referee)
Title: Effect of bilateral transfer on shooting with the dominant hand in basketball Work Title: Increasing the efficiency of successful shooting from the spot with dominant hand by 14 and 15 years old female basketball players Purpose: The purpose of this work is to show whether it is possible to improve successfulness in shooting from the spot with dominant hand during specialized training focused only on non-dominant hand. First part contains theoretical knowledge related to the asymmetry of hemisphere in human brain, its possible influence on motor skills with upper extremities and technique in determining of laterality. Executed basic shooting exercises for non-dominant hand according to recommended orders found in accessible sources are described in the second part. All exercises were consulted with experts in the field. In this part the executed shooting tests are evaluated and the final conclusion is drawn. Methods: The test was executed on female basketball players aged 14 and 15 years. For the test of laterality standard methods (Test Tapping and Edinburgh Inventory for handedness) were used. To test Shooting from the spot the test created by myself and consulted with specialists was used. Test results were marked in writing to the second part of the work. Conclusion: Results of the test...
Biomechanical response of selected structures of the knee joint to mechanical loads
Horňáková, Lenka ; Jelen, Karel (advisor) ; Navrátil, Leoš (referee) ; Mlynárik, Vladimír (referee)
Title: Biomechanical response of the knee meniscus to the axial loads Work Title: The quantification of the structural changes in deep layer of the knee meniscus using the standardized axial loading Purpose: Due to the internal structure of the knee joint, the ability to characterize and quantify the dynamic response of the meniscal tissue directly in vivo is highly problematic. The main purpose of this study was to investigate the behavior of the meniscus under loading conditions, using parametric MR imaging. Methods: Subjects with no history of knee pain or meniscal problems were included in the study (mean age 27.8 ± 1.3 years). To obtain values of relaxation times T2* in the meniscus, the vTE sequence was used with 10 echoes ranging from 0.8 to 10.1 ms. This has resulted in minimizing the echo time, which is an advantage when differentiating meniscal tissue from surrounding components. First of all, an unloaded limb was scanned and immediately after, the limb loaded half of the person's weight was measured repeatedly in 4 consecutive scans. A custom - made diamagnetic apparatus was developed to simulate stress conditions on the lower limb in a conventional MR scanner. At each 6:10 min measurement, the knee joint was scanned in 64 sections, each image displaying a 1.3 mm section. The two -...

Barriers that inhibit application of PPP projects in Czech Republic
Horňáková, Lenka ; Khendriche Trhlínová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Jetmar, Marek (referee)
Main subject of this work characterisation of PPP projects and barriers that inhibit application of PPP projects in Czech Republic. First there are characterised main concepts as public sector and his mission in providing public goods and services. Attention is also paid to characterization of PPP projects and to the differences between providing public goods and services through PPP scheme or by traditional way. Afterwards there is described the whole process of preparation and implementation of a PPP project including the key moments, that can't be ignored. If ignored, it could cause incorrigible faults in the implementation phase. This work also includes analysis of interviews made with a view to find out, how are Czech citizens informed about PPP projects. The produces of this work serve as basis for setting strategy and policy, which should be observed. Otherwise there is a risk that the project won't be finished successfully with positive public evaluation.
