Hlaváčková, Eva ; Hodačová, Lenka (advisor) ; Benešová, Veronika (referee) ; Hrubá, Drahoslava (referee)
Quality of life is a multidimensional concept that has been researched in many scientific fields. It has gained an important position especially in medicine, sociology, and psychology. The aim of the study was to monitor specific indicators of quality of life (QoL) and lifestyle in a representative sample of Czech children within an international study of the World Health organization (WHO), The Health Behaviour in School Aged Children: A WHO Cross National Study (HBSC), to analyze QoL in Czech children according to age, gender, and place of residence, and to evaluate it as it relates to other important factors associated with lifestyle (formal structure of the family, the amount of time spent together in the family, adaptation to school, subjectively perceived degree of demands for achievement in the school, social relationships, alcohol and tobacco consumption). The data were obtained using a questionnaire in 86 randomly selected elementary schools and multiannual secondary schools. The study methods emanated from the WHO recommendations. The target population for the research study was a representative sample of Czech children aged 11, 13, and 15, a total of 4,782 children. We monitored subjectively perceived QoL based on a subjective evaluation of the health status, the feeling of happiness, and...

Pallová, Alena ; Veselý, Jiří (advisor) ; Rybářová, Marie (referee) ; Hodačová, Lenka (referee)
Pallová,A. Smoking of medical staff seen as a problem. My graduation work consists of two parts. In the theoretical part I focused on the problem of smoking both active and passive. Further I studied the influence of smoking on human organism and possible health risks. There is an article on current legal norms included, reflecting economical consequences of smoking. The practical part concerns smoking prevalence as such, especially smoking prevalence at work, and includes medical workers's view to smoking as to an illness and addiction. I further focused on medical workers' legislation knowledge and financial question concerning the NRT ( nicotine replacement therapy ). In this part I set out 5 working hypotheses. For confirming or refusing them I used the questionnaire research method. The sample of respondents consisted of 129 employees of the Regional Náchod Hospital a.s. employed at the Broumov hospital. The research was carried out during the month of March 2006.

Stránská, Aneta ; Mareš, Jiří (advisor) ; Hodačová, Lenka (referee) ; Švecová, Dagmar (referee)
First degree work characterizes the process of dying and death and nears the contemporary possibilities of a lenitive and hospice care in the Czech Republic. The starting point is the definition of basic ideas and their brief characterictic drawing from get-at-able literature and information from practice. For finding the answer for contemporary level of care about dying patients was chosen the method of a qualitative research in the form of an anonymous questionnaire appointed for a nursering staff of a standard department in the chosen medical institutions. This first degree work isn't the universal instruction how to care about and to behave to dying people. This work contributes to thinking about the question of the death and dying, about own mortality and about the factors that influence this period. It nears the needs of dying people and the opinions of a nursering staff concerning priorities and obstacles in accompanying of the dyings.
A Comparison of Bird Abundance in Different Types of Rural Settlements along the Czech-Austrian Border
Třeská, Klára ; Zasadil, Petr (advisor) ; Hodačová, Lenka (referee)
Abstract Along with the changes in the management of human, which took place from the mid-20th century, bird populations changed the balances. The aim of my thesis is to determine the differences in the abundance and distribution of selected species of synanthropic birds. These concern of the following species: House sparrow (Passer domesticus), Tree sparrow (Passer montanus), Collared dove (Sreptopelia decaocto), Common linnet (Carduelis cannabina), White wagtail (Motacilla alba), Common chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs), Black redstart (Phoenicurus ochruros), European goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis), Common starling (Sturnus vulgaris), European greenfinch (Carduelis chloris) and European serin (Serinus serinus). Using the simplified method of mapping (Bibby et al. 1992), the bird census took place in spring 2015 in 20 villages on the Czech-Austrian border. Counting squares were set in each village for different types of environment: the center of the village, edge of village and agricultural area including farm building with livestock. The results confirm the dependence of house sparrow to agricultural areas with breeding livestock in the Czech Republic. Abundance, density and frequency was evaluate for each species separately. Effect of biotope and state were significant effects only for House sparrow population. Factors of poultry and built up area were significant for White wagtail bird. Effect of state was significant for bird species Collared dove. There were no effects for Tree sparrows populations.
The impact of noise and light pollution on voice activity of Chiffchaff (Phylloscopus collybita)
Žilinčíková, Nikola ; Hodačová, Lenka (advisor) ; Kočicová, Pavlína (referee)
The continuing growth of the worldss population causes increase of anthropogenic influence on environment. In this mechanized times the often observed factors with influence on (not only) birds populations, are light and noise. These factors of environment can have negative impact on birds song and behavior related to it. Vocal expression is essential for communication of bird species and is necessary for their life processes. The birds are therefore, under the influence of stressors, forced to adapt themselves to newly emerging environment. This work investigates the influence of light and noise pollution on vocalization of chiffchaff (Phylloscopus collybita) during the morning and evening hours. The obtained data came from 4 types of locality (light-polluted, noise-polluted, light-noise polluted and without pollution) where the factors were represented predominantly by the noise of traffic and by artificial night lighting. Localities with presence of chiffchaff were selected and voice recorder was then placed into his territory. The obtained records of his voice were subsequently analyzed. The recording was done since April until May 2015, solely during the good weather conditions (without storms and strong wind). A development and intensity of the birds song were compared. The spotted result was a shift of chiffchaff´s morning vocalization initiation under the influence of light and noise pollution and increased intensity of birds song in the morning hours, in the locality affected by light and also in the noisy locality during the sunset.
Methods used to determination of quantity of house sparrow (Passer domesticus) and similar synanthropic birds
Semrádek, Jan ; Šmejdová, Lucie (advisor) ; Hodačová, Lenka (referee)
Population of many synanthropic species of birds is decreasing in a lot of European countries including the Czech Republic. This decrease is apparent especially in urban areas. Cause of this decrease has not been entirely specified. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate possible factors affecting bird population. One of the influencing factors could be the size of observed territory. During nesting season of 2014, research monitoring 11 bird species was carried out in 10 villages of Kladno county. The species of birds are House Sparrow (Passer domesticus), Eurasian Tree Sparrow (Passer montanus), Eurasian Collared Dove (Streptopelia decaocto), European Greenfinch (Carduelis chloris), European Serin (Serinus serinus), Black Redstart (Phoenicurus ochruros), European Goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis), Common Linnet (Carduelis cannabina), White Wagtail (Motacilla alba), Common Chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs) and Common Starling (Sturnus vulgaris). Birds were counted on several counting plots in different types of habitat. Aim was to inspect effect of habitat on abundance of bird species. The results show, that type of habitat had effect on most of the bird species. This outcome corresponds with some of the former studies.
