Expression of epistemic modality in Spanish news texts in comparison with Czech texts.

The core of the present master's thesis is a comparative analysis of means of expressing epistemic modality on the background of Spanish and Czech journalistic texts. Initially, the discourse analysis and the concept of theory of enunciation are presented. Secondly, the author defines the term modality and its concept in terms of modal logic and linguistics. She concentrates on different typologies of modality presented by foreign and Czech authors as well. Further, the works focuses on the category of evidentiality and means of expression (especially lexical) of epistemic modality. The proper research is based on qualitative and quantitative analysis. The aim of this investigation is to compare the frequency of occurrence of the epistemic markers between the aforementioned languages.

Comparison of individual species and groups of fruit in terms of content and properties of nutritionally valuable components

The work deals with the content and features of nutritionally valuable fruits constituents and detects the frequency of its consumption among secondary school students. The theoretical part deals with the basic breakdown of fruit with a description of important species of each group. There are also distributed and described, given the importance in human nutrition, most nutritionally valuable components of fruits - vitamins, antioxidants, minerals, roughage, carbohydrates, proteins and lipids. The practical part deals with the comparison of individual fruits in terms of nutritionally valuable constituents. When comparing nutritionally valuable constituents of fruits was found that nuts exhibits considerably higher amounts of vitamins, minerals and lipids than other group of fruit. This section also contains a survey related to questions about the frequency and popularity of eating fruit in secondary school students aged 17-20 years. The results are analyzed and graphically displayed. Research shows that 98 % of students likes fruit and prefer to eat it fresh. Their favorite kind are apples, which are our most usual fruit. In contrast, the fruits that students do not like to include grapefruit and currant. According to the survey, students understand the importance of fruit in the diet to their health, but it is important to pay attention constantly to have a varied diet in adolescents.

Etapa 1: Doplnění aktivitních údajů vybraných skupin zdrojů (dílčí zpráva o provedení analýzy významnosti jednotlivých skupin zdrojů, doplnění aktivitních dat pro významné skupiny zdrojů v letech 1990-2003 - ČSÚ, energetické bilance, resortní statistiky, odborné odhady). Etapa 2: Ověřování údajů provozní evidence zdrojů (realizace úprav SW pro sběr údajů souhrnné provozní evidence za rok 2004, návrh ověřovacích výpočtů pro hodnocení vykazovaných údajů souhrnné provozní evidence).

Zpracování národních inventarizací emisí skleníkových plynů za roky 2001 - 2004 a zpětný přepočet a doplnění emisních řad od roku 1990. Rozbor problematiky a zpracování podkladů pro formulaci Národního programu na zmírnění dopadů změny klimatu. Příprava vstupních emisních dat pro mezinárodní projekty, zaměřené na zjišťování možností emisního obchodování dle čl. 17 Kjótského protokolu. Příprava projekcí emisí skleníkových plynů a vyhodnocení přijatých opatření na snižování emisí skleníkových plynů. Vytvoření a rozvoj nástrojů pro objektivní hodnocení stavu a vývoje emisí skleníkových plynů v souladu s novým zákonem o ovzduší a hodnocení plnění redukčních závazků ČR vůči Kjótskému protokolu. Zpráva za DP 01 obsahuje podklady pro kontrolní den dílčího projektu, studii Rekalkulace emisní řady metanu z enterické fermentace skotu a Metodiku inventarizace emisí CO2 z výroby cementu a emisí a propadů CO2 z výroby a použití vápna.

Use of subjunctive/indicative with probability operators (quizás in non-inicial position) in European Spanish.

This bachelor's thesis is based on statistical research which verify the use of indicative and subjunctive with probability operator quizás in non-inicial position in European Spanish. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The first section offers theoretical background for the research section. The theoretical section is focused on clarification of problems connected with the use of grammatical moods and tenses, conception of modality and role of operators. The second, practical section of the thesis consists in statistical analysis which has been realized by the use of corpus CREA of the Royal Spanish Academy. The aim of the research is to find out real status of using indicative and subjunctive with operator quizás. The investigation is separated into five genres in the period from 1990 to 2004. The results are presented in charts and tables that provide a picture of the frequency of using both grammatical moods.
