Emigration of Scholars in Documents

The contribution deals with the source base to the problems of emigration of Czech scientists at the turn of 1960s and 1970s. It analyses documents related to the decision making processes at the level of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and consequently of the Presidium of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences (CSAS), where there are described from the regime’s point of view "undesirable phenomena", such as illegal departures of scientists abroad or their non-returning, influence of propaganda, overestimation of the "Western" economic motivations, etc. The documents contain proposals of resolving the situation including specification of the particular tasks. Implementation of the accepted steps and its impact is demonstrated by other documents coming from the different CSAS institutes.
Filing system and pre-archiving care of documents in institutes and in the Head office of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic

The contribution deals with problems of development of filing system and of record classification within the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic from its beginnings in 1953 to present. It gives information on the first plans of filing system, and follows work of the ASCR Archives as an institution supervising keeping of filing system’s regulations at all institutions and offices of the Academy.
Milada Paulová

M. Paulová was the first woman in the Czech history which became professor at university. She was a historian and dealt especially with the history of Eastern Europe and of Balkan Peninsula. Her research, lasting many years, in the documentation of the Slavonic revolt groups and their activities during the WWI was very important. M. Paulová was a member of many scholarly societies and organizations at home and abroad, and her research was highly regarded by representatives of the interwar Czechoslovakia and of Yugoslavia. Her personal papers deposited in the ASCR Archives were processed a published in inventory. The inventory is prefaced by a thorough introduction informing on her life and on the contents of preserved documentation.
Kamil Henner, Sr

The inventory of the personal papers of the Czech lawyer Kamil Henner senior (1861–1928). He was especially concerned with questions of canon law. His papers are preserved unfortunately very fragmentary. They contain personal and institutional correspondence, his scholarly essays and books, auxiliary material, and documentation from his public activity and of other people.
