The effect of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation on the dynamic stability of the lower limbs among the female softball players
Borůvková, Kristýna ; Srbová, Radmila (advisor) ; Froňková, Eliška (referee)
The bachelor thesis focuses on dynamic stability in junior softball players and examines the possibilities of influencing it with interventions based on proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation. The theoretical part of the work defines basic concepts, the practical part consists of a professional study. The female players of the selected sample were divided into experimental and control groups and their dynamic stability was measured by the Y-Balance test. The results were subsequently compared with the standardized deviation, which shows the limit of the risk of injury to the lower extremities. The measurements performed neither confirmed nor disproved whether it is possible to influence the dynamic stability of the lower limbs using proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation.
Role of body awareness in physiotherapy
Čalounová, Kateřina ; Froňková, Eliška (advisor) ; Baranová, Eva (referee)
The goal of this bachelor thesis is to demonstrate the importance of body awareness in physiotherapy. The theoretical part of this paper explains the role body awareness plays in physiotherapy and elsewhere, its benefits from the point of view of both a patient and a therapist and it also explains which methods can be used to work with body awareness. The MAIA survey (Multidimensional Assessment of Interoceptive Awareness) used in the in the practical part of this paper, evaluates the level of interospection or body awareness in two groups of population. These are people with physiotherapeutic backgroud in one group - physiotherapists and also physiotherapy students, and people without physiotherapy education in the other group. Part of the goal was also to verify if body awareness is affected by higher physiotherapy education, chronic pain or by undertaking activities aimed on awareness of one's body, such as yoga, mindfulness or various breathing exercises. Using a statistical evaluation of 144 survey responses, it was found that the group dedicated to physiotherapy has a higher score of the MAIA survey compared to the group without physiotherapy background. The score, however, does not increase with higher physiotherapeutic education, nor is it affected by chronic pain of the respondents. On the...
Physiotherapeutic possibilities of alteration of respiratory mechanism of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Nečasová, Zuzana ; Havlová, Martina (advisor) ; Froňková, Eliška (referee)
BACHELOR THESIS ABSTRACT Author: Zuzana Nečasová Supervisor: Mgr. Martina Havlová Title: Physiotherapeutic possibilities of alteration of respiratory mechanism of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease Abstract: This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases and physiotherapeutic possibilities of influencing the mechanics of respiration in patients with this diagnosis. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a progressive disease of the airways, and physiotherapy may play an important role in slowing the progression and improving the quality of life in people with this diagnosis. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part of the thesis describes chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and elements of pulmonary rehabilitation, the attention is focused mainly on the procedures of respiratory physiotherapy. The practical part is devoted to the work with a patient hospitalized at the 1st Department of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases, who was admitted after prolonged exacerbations in order to improve the condition for the possibility of performing bronchoscopic volume reduction. The aim of this bachelor thesis was to compile a suitable combination of physiotherapeutic techniques in the treatment of patients with COPD. The...

Intensity of chronic low back pain after the rehabilitation program in University Hospital Královské Vinohrady in Prague
Křížová, Irena ; Červenková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Froňková, Eliška (referee)
This bachelor thesis addresses the problem of intensity of chronic low back pain after the rehabilitation treatment at the Clinic of Rehabilitation Medicine in the University Hospital Královské Vinohrady (FNKV). The theoretical part is devoted to the lumbar spine and its surrounding structures; chronic lumbar pain, its aetiology and socio-economic impact; the options for assessing pain intensity; the treatment; the approaches used at the Clinic of Rehabilitation Medicine in FNKV; and the activities following the rehabilitation program. In the practical part, the research concentrates on the changes in intensity of chronic low back pain during the rehabilitation program; and the differences between input and output values. This study involved 21 patients hospitalized at the Clinic of Rehabilitation Medicine in the FNKV due to chronic lumbar spine pain. As many as 57 % of probands in the observed group were overweight or obese, and 42.86 % of working- age patients needed incapacity (sick leave) for work. During hospitalization, which lasted 14-22 days patients underwent regular rehabilitation treatment. Each day, they recorded their pain using the VAS scale in the morning and in the evening. Data for the purpose of this research were collected retrospectively from their medical records. At the level...
