Harvesting of materials from wastewater and sludge
Boubínová, Marie ; Chorazy, Tomáš (referee) ; Hlavínek, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the issue of recycling raw materials from wastewater and sewage sludge with emphasis on phosphorus. The first part of the thesis deals with the problems associated with resources of phosphorus, the use of the legislative and recycling of phosphorus. Then, physico-chemical and biological methods of phosphorus recycling from wastewater and products of their further processing at WWTPs are discussed. Phosphorus recycling is also described in terms of the circular economy, which is explained at the end of the first part of this thesis. The second part of this thesis is a technical-economic research for a specific WWTP over 50 thousand. PE in the Czech Republic. The available technologies for recycling phosphorus from wastewater, sewage sludge and sewage sludge ash are described alsonhere. Then, the technologies are compared and evaluated.
Utilization of waste in the context of current legislative measures and principles of circular economy
Dočekal, Petr ; Vymazal, Petr (referee) ; Chorazy, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the use of selected types of waste under the conditions of current legislation in force in the Czech Republic. It focuses on plastic packaging waste and sewage sludge – waste generated from municipal wastewater treatment. The aim of the work was to process a search of current legislation and strategic documents in the field of waste management in the context of the principles of circular economy and then design and then critical evaluation of the optimal system of utilization of the above waste based on the principles of circular economy. Both its strengths and weaknesses as well as basic economic parameters were described. The first part of the work is a description and current methods of waste management and search for legislation and strategic documents at the EU and Czech level. In the second part, the optimal circulatory method of waste management is designed and evaluated. A delivery system is currently in place for plastic packaging waste. The bachelor work deals with a new system of taking back PET bottles and compares their strengths and weaknesses. For the sewage sludge, drying and subsequent pyrolysis were chosen as the optimal treatment method, which seems to be a very efficient method.
Acquiring of phosphorus from sewage sludge
Boubínová, Marie ; Chorazy, Tomáš (referee) ; Hlavínek, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on phosphorus recovery from sewage sludge. In the first part of the thesis, research of phosphorus recovery from sewage sludge is explained. Reusing of phosphorus, a critical material of mankind, is expressed with the principles of the circular economy. The second part of the thesis defines the potential of phosphorus extraction from sewage sludge from medium-sized (Trutnov WWTP) and large (Modřice WWTP) wastewater treatment plant and a technical and economic study of the proposed phosphorus recycling system at these wastewater treatment plants is described.

Optimization of the Construction Layers of Green Parking Lot when Using AS-TTE Grassing Blocks
Novotný, Michal ; Chorazy, Tomáš
The current way in drainage of roads is the concentration of rainwater in the subsoil of roads, so that rainwater does not drain into the sewer system, but freely infiltrates into the subsoil. The aim of this research is to optimize the structural layers of green parking lots with AS-TTE grassing blocks. During the design of structural layers and new types of materials, will be optimized to allow maximum water infiltration into the subsoil and at the same time keep the requirements for load-bearing capacity of structural layers according to ČSN 72 1006. Laboratory tests will be performed focusing on basic physical and mechanical properties, water permeability and adsorption of oil drips.
