HTTP Application Performance Monitoring
Knapik, Martin ; Kováčik, Michal (referee) ; Bartoš, Václav (advisor)
Goal of this bachelor thesis was to create solution for monitoring and analysis of network performance of HTTP server using Nemea framework and NetFlow data. For this purpose, I've created Nemea module for filtering, parsing and saving NetFlow data enhanced by informations gained from HTTP plugin on exporter. For analysis and user interface, webpage based on Django framework was created, used for displaying statistics that are useful for users in order to reveal problems with monitored servers. Result of my work is product, which is demonstrating possibility of using of Nemea system for passive monitoring of HTTP servers.
Optimization of NetFlow Data Search Using nfdump
Kubovič, Martin ; Žádník, Martin (referee) ; Bartoš, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with optimization of NetFlow data search using the nfdump tool. This thesis describes NetFlow protocol and tool nfdump and proposes the solution using data structure Bloom filter. The main goal was to optimize data storage and processing in order to be able to search the huge amounts of collected data and get results very quickly. The outcome of this thesis is the optimized tool that network administrators can use to search these data and significantly accelerate monitoring and analyzing network.
DNS Amplification Attack Detection Using Passive DNS Analysis
Míšaný, Daniel ; Bartoš, Václav (referee) ; Kováčik, Michal (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the analysis and detection of DNS Amplification attack which is type of the DoS attack. Introduction of this thesis is focused on fundamental theories involving computer networks, DNS and DoS attacks. The main part of the work deals with the analysis of DNS Amplification attack, design and implementation of detection tool in C++ programming language. The conclusion is devoted to analyzing the results of the detection tool.
Network Attack Simulator
Filičko, Dávid ; Kováčik, Michal (referee) ; Bartoš, Václav (advisor)
The thesis discusses about study of networks attacks and framework monitoring packets in the network. It proceeds especially network attacks, which can be detected without knowledge about the contents of packets. The aim of this thesis is to develop the simulator based on detected features, which will simulate these attacks. The output from the simulator will be created in the Nemea framework to improve the quality of tools of detection and prevention of given attacks. The simulator will be functioning for testing purpose only. Under no circumstances it will be possible to realize individual attacks.
Network Traffic Visualization
Matoušek, Martin ; Bartoš, Václav (referee) ; Kováčik, Michal (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with visualization of network traffic by NetFlow data. In the theoretical part describes NetFlow technology thet is used for monitoring of computer network . Then I introduce theory of graph layouts . Purpose of the thesis is to crate tool for visualization data.
Generator of IPv6 Tables
Lorenc, Marián ; Bartoš, Václav (referee) ; Matoušek, Jiří (advisor)
The increasing number of IPv6 prefixes in routing tables require creation of efficient lookup algorithms, which are adapted to the length of prefixes. To create and to test these algorithm,s it is necessary to have extensive tables, which currently do not exist. This thesis is about design and implementation of generator of such tables. Many series of analysis were performed before the implementation. These series were about observing properties of real and generated IPv6 sets of prefixes. The final application was implemented in the way that it corresponds as much as possible to real sets. The correctness of the generator was tested by comparing the bit values of generated and real IPv6 sets.
Network Attack Generator
Buček, Hynek ; Košař, Vlastimil (referee) ; Bartoš, Václav (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the study of the best-known network attacks, especially on those that can be theoretically detected without knowledge of the contents of transmitted messages. The goal is to use the basis of acquired knowledge to create a tool that will simulate the behavior of the communication in different network attacks. Simulation outputs will be used for testing the quality of security tools designed to defend against network attacks. The simulator will be used only for offline testing, it will not be possible to carry out real attacks. Purpose of this work is to improve the security against network attacks nowadays.
Detection of Peer-to-Peer Communication
Letý, Pavel ; Kováčik, Michal (referee) ; Bartoš, Václav (advisor)
This thesis is focused on issues in detection of P2P network from NetFlow. In the theoretical part of this work are introduced actual techniques in detection of this communication in network. There are presented their advantages and disadvantages too. The biggest attention is focused on the classification scheme of Mr. Bashir which deals with a detection of a protocol BitTorrent and a Skype application from Netflow. Following this scheme is designed a detection module for a modular system of a traffic analysis Nemea, developed by Cesnet organization. In the practical part of this work is introduced the implementation of this module. There are also presented results of experiments with real data.
Data Profiling Using IPFIX Mediator
Kozubík, Michal ; Bartoš, Václav (referee) ; Kořenek, Jan (advisor)
This thesis deals with the network data profiling using IPFIX mediator. The main task is effective data filtering and configurable profiles management. The profiles management is still not available for IPFIX mediator, which makes analysis of network traffic for users more difficult. Therefore this thesis deals with the design and implementation of configurable profiles management as a plug-in for IPFIX mediator. The plug-in uses profiles hierarchy with filtering rules for data sorting.
Verification of FPGA Generic Interconnection System
Bartoš, Václav ; Martínek, Tomáš (referee) ; Puš, Viktor (advisor)
This thesis deals with design, implementation and realization of simulation verification of generic interconnection system for FPGA chips. This system is part of the NetCOPE platform developed in the Liberouter project, within which was this work done. In the beginning, an usual methods of verification in SystemVerilog language are described. Then there is a brief description of the interconnection system, aimed especially to aspects important to verification. The main part of the thesis is design of verification environment and control program of test for all three components of the tested system. It started form the earlier described principles, that are established in the Liberouter project, and it add some more features. All components of the verification environment are designed to be general and reusable, so they can be used also in other verifications related to the interconnection system. At the end of the thesis, there are discussed results of the verification, found bugs and the general advantages of simulation verifications.
