Central Europe after Fukushima:the media image of nuclear energetics in the Czech republic,Germany,Austria and Slovakia after Fukušima disaster

The thesis deals with the image of nuclear energetics in four selected daily newspapers after Fukushima nuclear power plant accident in March 2011. The goal of the thesis is to compare how the public was informed about a nuclear disaster in Fukushima by leading daily newspapers in four selected countries, with focus on their attitude to this disaster, and how, if at all, this event influenced the direction of the countries in terms of energy resources. The Czech Republic, Germany, Austria and Slovakia were selected as representative countries. Each of these countries is represented by a daily newspaper, such as Mladá fronta Dnes, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Der Standard and SME. The theoretical part of the thesis provides the explanation of basic concepts of media communication and news characteristics. The attention is also given to the issue of nuclear energetics.
