Modifikace izotaktického polypropylenu
Ličko, M. ; Jeníková, Z. ; Rybníček, J. ; Horník, J. ; Steidl, J. ; Raab, Miroslav
Injection moulded samples of polypropylene were used to study the effect of trigonal .beta.-phase and ethylene propylene rubber on mechanical-physical properties in respect to microstructure. The results were compared with pure isotactic polypropylene, .beta.phase induced by 0.33 weight percent of a nucleation reagent and 20 weight percent of EPM rubber increases the toughness of iPP. A substantial increase in toughness was observed by combining both additives resulting in spherolite refinement and reduction in amorphous content. However, the improvement in toughness was at the expense of the yield strength and modulus of elasticity.
Optické a elektrické přepínání v organických polovodičích
Vala, M. ; Weiter, M. ; Nešpůrek, Stanislav ; Zmeškal, O.
The work deals with tuning of electro-optical properties of polymeric media using reversible light-driven switching of photochromic spiropyran guest molecules. The significant change of dipole moment during the photochromic conversion allows construction of simple switching units. Optical responses of such devices were studied using absorbance and photoluminescence, electrical responses, were detected by impedance measurements.
Introduction to molecular gastronomy or talks with Mojmír
Raab, Miroslav
This popular lecture gives an introduction to molecular gastronomy as originally founded by Hervé This and Nicholas Kurti. This scientific discipline covers the gap between food technology and practical gastronomy. Some practical examples are used to illustrate this approach.
Polymers and people
Raab, Miroslav
This lecture offers a chronological survey of the most important inventions in polymeric materials and their inventors. Special attention is devoted to the role of serendipity that seemingly assisted to some great discoveries.
Interesting and impressive experiments in organic chemistry
Hrubý, Martin
Experiments are essential in hiqh-quality teaching of chemistry, because they demonstrate some regularities of nature in praxis, and visually attractive experiments also make learning chemistry more interesting. Several such experiments are demonstrated.
NMR spectroscopy: principles and application in chemistry, biology and medicine
Brus, Jiří
History of NMR spectroscopy, current developments and applications are introduced. The main interest is focused to basic subjects of chemistry, structural biology and medicine investigated by NMR spectroscopy.
Observation of microworld
Lednický, František
An overview of microscopic techniques, microscopic preparation, visualization methods is illustrated by examples from polymer and material science.
Kompozity polypropylen/osika/kapalný polybutadien: Maximalizace houževnatosti, pevnosti v tahu a modulu statistickým výběrem experimentů
Kokta, B. V. ; Fortelný, Ivan ; Kruliš, Zdeněk ; Horák, Zdeněk ; Michálková, Danuše
A systematic study of the effect of concentration of maleated polypropylene MAPP, dicumyl peroxide DCP, polyisobutadiene isocyanate PBNCO and fiber content on the mechanical properties of ASspen-PP composite was undertaken with the objective to protect or increase the impact strength without losing tensile strength reinforcement. Using STAGRAPHIC Plus, the central composite design it was possible to determine the optimum concentration of additives and to maximiye both the impact as well as tensile properties well above that of pure polypropylene.
Elektrorheologické vlastnosti siliky modifikované polyanilinem
Pavlínek, V. ; Lengálová, A. ; Sáha, P. ; Quadrat, Otakar ; Stejskal, Jaroslav
Electrorheological properties of silica suspensions particles coated with polyaniline in silicone oil have been investigated. The role of the interfacial polyarization of particles is emphasized.
Vývoj fázové struktury při toku polymerních směsí
Fortelný, Ivan
State of art in description of the phase structure development in flowing polymer blends is discussed. It is shown that the rule satisfactorily predicting a type of the phase structure does not exist. Graphic solution of the equation describing dynamic equilibrium between the droplet breakup and coalescence provides satisfactorily prediction of the dependence of average droplet size on system parameters.
