Modification of Regression Function
Popoola, Seyi James ; Hübnerová, Zuzana (referee) ; Žák, Libor (advisor)
The regression analysis is a modelling technique that establishes, mathematically, the relationship between entities of a particular subject. Although the modelling is done in such a way that one variable is seen as a subject of the other(s), regression does not imply causation. The modeling has assumptions such as linearity, normality, little or no multicollinearity, homoscedasticity as conditions for optimal relationship establishment. The simplest of the regression technique is the linear regression which also is the most commonly used. It involves the use of a straight line model to define the best pattern of relationship. This best pattern is assessed by the measure of goodness of fit which describes the amount of variation in the response variable explained by the stimuli (or stimulus). Change-point regression is a type of linear regression that takes into account a change in course of the movement of the relationship under study. This type of change in course is taken into account by modelling the regression in segments to account for the entire relationship observable in the data at hand. Several information criterions are used for detecting this change in course, the Schwartz Information Criterion (SIC), the Bayesian Information Criterion (BIC), amongst others. The detection method adopted for this work is the Modified Information Criterion (MIC) which tests a null hypothesis of no change point against an alternative that states presence of change-point. The data upon which this methodology is applied is the Italy COVID-19 data. The data was subjected to a linear regression and evaluated after which it was subjected to this change point test and the test shows the presence of a change in course. The sections which the test divides the data into were modelled individually and their regression lines were obtained. The two sections were plotted on a graph with their regression lines intercepting at the crest of the plot.
Estimating of motion models and its parameters to identify target trajectory
Statistical Modeling of the Risk Indicators in a Company
Kučera, Jan ; Žák, Libor (referee) ; Karpíšek, Zdeněk (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the development of individual financial indicators of a selected company using the methods of financial analysis, interval regression analysis and time series analysis. Based on the results of these analyzes there is evaluated the financial situation of the company and created a forecast of the evolution of the selected indicators for the next two years. The selected company is described by an analysis of the internal and external surroundings. Possible risks are identified by a risk analysis and proposals are made to reduce the value of individual risks to an acceptable level.
Moravian wine centre Brno
Peková, Pavla ; Žák, Libor (referee) ; Dýr, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis gives a proposal for a new Moravian wine center in the city center of Brno. Wine center is situated on the street Hlinka, where grapevines were planted in the Middle Ages. Demarcated land is narrow and elongated sloping towards to the south and connects the Yellow hills and the Brno Exhibition Centre. The main idea of this thesis is connect these two significant locations and offer the visitor a free passage along the entire length of the complex. Also main building Moravian Wine Centre reflects this fact and it expands the space of the street stalls and forms it into overgrown "arcade". The house is opened into this space - with glazed facade of the first two floors or with transmission into the rear wing. The main building consist of the cellar, where it is located wellness, winehouse, rentable wine boxes and tasting room connected with wine production. The rest of floors are designed for wine gallery, information center, reception, shop, restaurant, conference center and hotel. There is a café with roof terrace in the last floor. It offers a magnificent view into cityscape of Brno, Brno Exhibition Centre and the Yellow slope of the hill. There is designed a pond for relaxation in the courtyard. Nearby is situated Wine Institute building with facilities for making wine. In the second half of the land are located three blocks of luxury apartments in the middle of a vineyard. A leading construction is the most striking feature of the facade that reminds bougainvillea vines with vaulted arches wine cellars and attracts at first sight.
Models and methods for routing problems
Nevrlý, Vlastimír ; Žák, Libor (referee) ; Popela, Pavel (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with mathematical model building for routing problems and ways to solve them. There are discussed and implemented deterministic and heuristic approaches that are suitable to be utilized. A big effort is put into building of the mathematical model describing a real world problem from the field of waste management. Appropriate algorithms are developed and modified to solve a particular problem effectively. An original graphical environment is created to illustrate acquired results and perform testing computations.
Production buildings VW Autocenter
Nováková, Eva ; Žák, Libor (referee) ; Boleslavská, Yvona (advisor) ; Donaťáková, Dagmar (advisor)
A goal of this thesis is elaborating of a project documentation which is consisted of a building permit documentation in a scale 1:100 and a construction documentation in a scale 1:50. This thesis is based on architectural study elaborated within the course AG35. A subject matter of the Bachelor thesis is a design of a newbuilding of the showroom of a Car-centre Volkswagen Group in Brno - Zábrdovice on Cejl street. The part of the design is the architectural object itself and its surroundings. The original idea was to create a large view area for the people passing or driving by to have a good view of exposed cars. To this purpose a circular floor plan has provided the best viewings inside the building from several points of view. A form of the showroom is a cylinder which is partially covered by white fabric shades. The whole structural system of the showroom is formed by steel columns with a reinforced concrete wall. A roof construction is made up by steel trusses.
Correlation coefficients and their field of application
Rudžík, Matej ; Popela, Pavel (referee) ; Žák, Libor (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with different types of correlation coefficients and their properties depending on the data layout. The theoretical part of this work contains definitions of various types of correlation coefficients and tests related with this issue. The practical part compares the behaviour of parametric and nonparametric correlation coefficients in different situations. This comparison is realised in program MATLAB.
