Šafránek's Chronicle of Town Hořice as Ethnographic Source

The Bachelor Thesis deals with the chronicle, written by the craftsman František Šafránek from Hořice. The chronicle describes events from the second half of 19th century. Its use as an ethnographic source provides a large amount of themes, from which were chosen small-town festivities for detailed analysis. These records brings us opportunity to get a closer look at the festivities and their course as perceived by the eyes of their direct participant. There are not only traditional festivities of folk origin but also festivities originated during 19th century, especially in the last third of this century in connection with society changes. The chronicle recorded by František Šafránek is one of sources which can contribute to understanding of festivities in 19th century. Ethnographic and Folcloric Aspects in the Work of Eastern Bohemian Teachers

This diploma thesis is focused on the generation of committed teachers, regional eastern Bohemia patriotic activists that were interested in ethnography and folklore studies on the amateur level. The first part of the thesis introduces four profession-associates of the same generation, teachers from the end of 19th and the beginning of 20th Century. Subsequent chapters deal with wider cultural-historical context with the emphasis on the history of pedagogy and ethnology. In the thesis there is also the development of homeland studies depicted. These studies were introduced as compulsory at the beginning of 20th Century and were therefore suitable for deepening of the educational role of the school via ethnographical materials. The main focus of the thesis is on the intersection of homeland education and ethnographic activities of mentioned teachers (cooperation with professionals, interest in collecting…) as well as the analysis of their importance to the professional ethnography.

WOMEN AND THE BRA: QUALITATIVE RESEARCH INTO SOCIOCULTURAL CONTEXTS OF ITS USE - SUMMARY This paper presents the brassiere not just as an essential part of women's clothing which has undergone very interesting evolution, from a strip of cloth or leather covering and forming the breasts, through corsets in various shapes and sizes to the bra in the form as we know today. This rather personal part of women's underwear is also introduced as a phenomenon with many sociocultural and psychosocial aspects. The first part of the paper focuses on different ways of forming and shaping of the bust throughout history, on innovations in textile technology which influenced the look of underwear in general, on the beginnings and evolution of the brassiere and on changes in its functions and symbolism in recent history. The second part describes preparatory work for a modest qualitative study. It presents theoretical and methodological grounds of the study, including an essential introduction of basic principles and characteristics of qualitative research as a specific approach to social reality. Colloredo-Mannsfelds travels. Travels to Africa and North America (1901-1906)

Between years 1901 and 1906 travelled Josef Colloredo- Mannsfeld (1866 - 1957) twice to Africa and twice to America. Each travel lasted for several months and always took place in winter. The accurate reconstruction of the travels is impossible due to the lack of archive materials. Most information has been preserved in Joseph ́s itinerary, where he wrote about visiting Alaska and Yukon in 1904. Josef broug ht back a number of animal trophies and valuable ethnog raphic material, which now can be seen in Opočno castle or in Náprstek museum in Prag ue. The author of this thesis focuses mainly on the reconstruction and describing of the travels, she also discusses the personality of Josef Colloredo- Mannsfeld and writes about hunting , travelling and understanding of ethnicity in the contemporary context.

Ethnographic aspects of the metaphorical conceptualization of the environment in the Czech prose of the 19th century. The bachelor thesis deals with incorporating ethnographic element in the Czech literature of the 19th century. It outlines the situation that was the basis for the growth and formation of literature in working with ethnographic material. The issue is specified on the example of work of Bozena Nemcova. The thesis describes her work with ethnographic elements and it focuses on the form of the element used when describing of the setting in the short story Chyže pod horami. The aim of this thesis is based on historical and archival documents to describe social life of Sofie Podlipská. In the first part of this thesis is described the life of Sofie Podlipská. The further part is focused on her publications and translations. In the main part of the bachelor thesis I am concentrated on her work in associations and lecture activities in some representative woman institutions.
Esotherical aproaches in the achal women's spirituality

My work deals with the esoteric approaches to contemporary women's spirituality. I mapped the current literature on the history of the esoteric and the Czech media that is dedicated to esoteric. Historically focused literature I used to outline the development ofesoteric writing, focusing on the persecution of witches. Field research, I tried to capture the women who are devoted to esoteric, especially the interpretation of cards.

Master thesis: Wedding in the town of region of Zdar nad Sazavou Author: Bc. Veronika Macková Supervisor: PhDr. Jaroslava Krupková, CSc. ABSTRACT This thesis is focused on the description of the current marriage in the district town of Zdar nad Sazavou. The thesis is a methodology of field research, where I describe the basic information on how to collect information in the field. This work incorporates two general chapters on marriage. One is about how it is legally defined marriage in the Czech Republic, and the second deals with the status of marriage in human life. An integral part of this thesis is also crucial appreciation of literature and sources and historical development and current form Zdarsky whole region. In this thesis the main chapters are solved on three: the bridal, wedding day and the next day after the wedding. Each chapter has several requirements under subchapters. Contemporary wedding in the district town Zdar nad Sazavou is the traditional model compares the captured in the 19th and 20th century. Feminism and emancipation at the threshold of the 20th century Anna Řeháková, Vlasta Pittnerová, two case studies This PhD thesis deals with feminism and women's emancipation in Prague at the threshold of the 20th century. This work is a case study, based mainly on the biographical method. It is a concrete contribution to the history of emancipation and women's issues. The aim is to contribute to understanding the development of the women's movement in the Czech region on the border of the 19th and 20th century in a particular situation. Matter of this thesis is conceived as two case studies of two little-known personalities of the women's movement, their life and work today: a teacher and writer Anna Rehakova and writer and publicist Vlasta Pittnerová. The author conducted an analysis of the archival materials, memoirs, and inhe- ritances, the sources of contemporary women's own literary press and publications of both protagonists examined, as well as specialized books on the matter. On the basis of their work author demonstrates the development process in the women's movement, views the women and their fate.
