In the bachelors thesis titled Documentary work and its existence outside of the cinema and tv screens I am showing options, which new media and technologies brought to the work of the documentarists. I am showing here new ways of the documentary creation using the digital technologies, which are working with metadatas. Expanded metadatas, which contains information about the shot material, carry with itself key information about the film for its future distribution and follow up work with the title, mainly using the internet search. Examples are being shown about sharing the documentary films via new appearing videoplatforms. One of the overlooked areas is also the using of the filmed material in the education process. Digital technologies brought new challenges also to the film archiving.

Producers Dramaturgy
Stránská, Martina ; KALLISTA, Jaromír (advisor) ; ŠUSTER, Jan (referee)
In my bachelor thesis, I deal with producers dramaturgy, meaning what is the role of the producer in the creative process of making a (feature) film. Due to the lack of written sources, I used the method of dialogue between among and Czech producers. I am interested in all the aspects they have influence on. All the producers were given the same questions dealing with developing the theme, building the creative team and postproduction including the distribution strategy. As a result, I try to answer the question whether Czech producers are creative and whether there exists films that can be called producers films.

This bachelor thesis is devoted to study the configuration of the applied methods of the governmental supporting of the Czech film industry and Czech cinematography at the same time. The choice of such thesis subject is motivated by implementation of the film incentives in the Czech Republic.    The aim of this thesis is finding common points and aspects of the The Film Industry Support Programme (PPFP - film incentives) with the other, long ago established forms of government film support. Revision of intents of the PPFP as well as its sense and comprehension of its assessing criteria for choosing projects to be upheld ? is very important. To comprehend these matters, deep knowledge of evolution of the governmental attitude towards film industry and cinematography is needed to be used. To study the incentives fundamentals, it is also crucial to know and understand the European policy related to these matters.
Cinematographers of czech documentary film
Šuster, Jan ; Jícha, Marek (advisor) ; Ulver, Stanislav (referee)
In my dissertation I focus on the professional, as well as on the personal, points of view of various documentary cinematographers and on the complexity of the image conveyed in the works of audiovisual documentaries. Through the eyes of four generations of directors of photography, I seek to compose a holistic view of the Czech cinematography. In the introduction the history of Czech documentary films is briefly outlined. The following chapter is composed of personal interviews with the four cinematographers. These professionals were chosen according to their experience with documentary films and their contribution to the Czech cinematography in general. Each one of these four professionals has a notable character which has, among their distinguished camera work, left an enduring mark on the quality of cinematographic image. The questions directed to them are the same, thus aiming to point out a multi-generation view on the issue of camera work in Czech documentary films, as well as on the characters of the cinematographers themselves. To conclude my dissertation I compare and contrast various attitudes toward the camera work in documentary films. By introducing my personal opinion and confronting with the ideas presented by these four generations of professionals, I aim to express the point of views of the new, fifth, generation of cinematographers.
System of the support of the Czech cinematography
Stibralová, Alena ; Kallista, Jaromír (advisor) ; Šuster, Jan (referee)
In my bachelor thesis I prepared an overview of the system and development of the support of Czech Cinematography. I am focusing on the film legislation in the Czech Republic after 1989. Nowadays, laws which contain the terms and mechanism of the functioning of the film area are not satisfactory anymore. The acts were established in the nineties of the 20th century. These Acts are not reflecting the progress of the new technologies and development of cinematography. With the end of the Act about digitalization of broadcasting (Act no. 304/2007) a question arises as to where to find the financial resources for the State Fund of Czech Cinematography. I am comparing, in short, the state of film support in the Czech Republic and in different states of the European Union. The Czech Ministry of Culture is now working on a new version of the Cinematography Act - passing of this law would bring an amendment to the Act no. 273/1993 (audiovisual law) and Act no. 241/1992 (law about the State Fund for the Support and Development of Czech Cinematography). I would like to show the historical and thematic context. I am analyzing and evaluating the new Cinematography Act from different points of view. In the conclusion of my thesis I contemplate the chance of the new Act being passed. Overall, I assess the new proposal of the Cinema Act positively. Although it is a sort of a compromise, it meets the needs of the present.

Dance for camera
Párová, Karolína ; Kallista, Jaromír (advisor) ; Šuster, Jan (referee)
The thesis focuses on phenomenon of the genre ?dance for camera?, and thus mainly from the producer?s and distributor?s point of view. Dance for camera is here explored as the genre, in which the dance is specially created for the camera. A brief presentation of its history serves as a prologue to practical considerations about dance films in the light of production specifics and distribution?s potential. Although the genre has been dynamically developing for more than twenty years by now abroad, in the Czech Republic it is ? with exceptions in the 90?s ? a kind of art that is little sought by choreographers, almost unknown for filmmakers and practically unsupported from the state. The goal of the thesis is to find the reasons of this absurd inexistence of the genre here.
