Hurtajová, Zuzana
This bachelor thesis deals with the styles and the methodology of affecting fruit set for peach by incision. It explores the various ways of cut and its influence to the quality and quantity of fruits. It shows the ways of cut by individual types with the least possible interventions into the lives of the tree, depending on the choice of the variety in different climatic conditions. The quality nor quantity of fruits can not be affected just by incision, that's why this work also deals with fruit thinning since it is an integral part of the cultivation to achieve high quality of peach harvest.

Lexical gaps in Czech as compared with English: their identification and characterization
Kolman, Martin ; Klégr, Aleš (advisor) ; Vašků, Kateřina (referee)
Lexical Gaps Abstract in English The general assumption among most language users is that every single concept in our world can be labeled by a proper lexical item, i.e. there is a name for all of the physical or abstract entities we live with and situations we experience. It has been suggested by several studies, and we will concentrate on these, that there are usually several conceptual structures in the studied languages which are in fact not lexicalized. This linguistic phenomenon is called a lexical gap, and there is more than one type of lexical gap observable in languages. Recent studies of the occurrence of a lexical gap show various approaches to the subject with various results. The study of lexical gaps can be approached from the point of view of lexical fields, as suggested by Alan Cruse and Adrienne Lehrer among others. In this approach different fields: taxonomies, hierarchies, clusters, grids, linear structures and matrixes help to organize the lexicon into conceptual structures where the missing structural part is then best observable and studied with relation to the other units in the field. Other approaches, Bentivogli and Pianta for example, favour contrastive lexicological studies where a lexical gap is identified as a missing translational equivalent in a target language to a lexical...

Hřebíčková, Olga ; Landová, Hana (advisor) ; Kovaříková, Klára (referee)
The objective of the thesis is to describe and evaluate services of public libraries aimed at immigrants and national minorities in the Czech Republic and programs to support them. The first part defines the principal terms related to libraries and minorities. An overview of legislation follows, focused on the same topic. The third part introduces five most common national minorities and immigrant groups living in the Czech Republic. The fourth chapter describes all regional libraries in the Czech Republic, two of municipal libraries near the national border where the percentage of minorities is higher and one specialized library with a focus on their foreign- language equipment, events, meetings or exhibitions about or for national minorities or immigrants, their cooperation with various organizations, employees' interest in minorities and a possibility of registration of foreigners at libraries. Following part is about programs and projects supporting foreigners in Czech libraries. The sixth chapter describes selected organizations working in the migration field. Next is an own survey which was made in 32 public libraries in the Czech Republic. Chapter next to last describes a situation abroad, in Sweden with a focus on their Immigrant Institute. The influence of the fixation of water bugs (Heteroptera: Nepomorpha) on the results of their growth and variability
SVOBODOVÁ, Kristýna
The main task of this thesis was to investigate the influence of the preservation by ethyl alcohol and dry mounting on the morphometric characteristics of water bugs´ and to test the hypothesis that live individuals and individuals preserved by ethyl alcohol and dry mounted (both groups deal with individuals of the same species, sex and developmental stage) have the same morphometric parameters. The next task was to determine the effect of preparation by ethyl alcohol and dry mounting on the change of weight caused by different way of individuals´ preparation. Two model species of water bugs were chosen for this study: creeping water bug Ilyocoris cimicoides (Naucoridae) and backswimmer Notonecta glauca (Notonectidae). Weight and twelve other morphometric body characters were measured in adults of both sexes of both species. All data and their differences were tested by Student's paired t-test or nonparametric Wilcoxon test. The level of significance p = 0,05 was used for the decision whether the difference before and after preservation by ethyl alcohol and dry mounting is or is not statistically significant. Both preservation by ethyl alcohol and dry mounting influence only the body weight of treated individuals. Other morphometric characters are more or less independent on the way of preservation of water bugs´ individuals in collections. In this work, we also tested the effect of the Dyar rule for the increase in weight and size between different developmental stages of both species studied. Dyar rule for the evolution of both species was not verified. This project was supported by the grant of the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic No. P505/10/0096.

HTN planning for project IVE
Holeček, Ondřej ; Brom, Cyril (advisor) ; Plch, Tomáš (referee)
IVE is an ambitious project whose main effort was to create a highly scalable architecture to allow discrete simulation of large-scale virtual world full of virtual beings and their virtual lives. Part of the project is an implementation of reactive virtual beings fully driven by their environment. In this work I try to extend this reactive intelligence by ability to plan in advance actions and their specific execution order to successfully accomplish its tasks. I am trying to achieve this by attaching external HTN planning system, implementing automatic world representation translation and mutual interaction between IVE framework and planning subsystem. Along with planning I add not only ability to plan ones individual tasks, but also more complex planning of cooperation of multiple beings on common goals, which may be somewhat difficult using only reactive control.

To an average newspaper reader and whether Romany' s live out on a limb or not. One possibility of finding out what image the media create about Romany' s is to present single surveys, which raise certain subject matter and their consequences .The subsequent comparison distinguishes between surveys made in specific years and assessing if it improved or if the subject matter stay the same. The surveys of different Bulgarian newspapers and joumals use different methods of investigation, but they pursue the same aim - to establish how and why they write about Romany' s, if they speak about them in a positive or negative way, if they present the facts and if they are using derogatory language.
