Bertolt Brecht Galileo's life (possibilities of B. Breht in contemporary theatre)
Ďurik, Andrej ; Dušek, Jan (advisor) ; Glogr, Karel (referee)
In my thesis I endeavoured to document the development of the view of Brecht?s works in our countries. It means mapping the interpretation attempts in the Czech Republic, coping with Brecht?s theoretical work, and last but not least with Brecht as a political man with social feeling due to what he remained many times miscomprehended. It is certain that the history mentions a large-minded, talented, educated personality, a strongly up to self-destructively hard-working one. On the one hand, he is artistically sensitive and fine, however, on the other hand he is a disintegrated and a very complicated person. In the course of time, I came to the conclusion that it is likely impossible to fully join a Brecht theoretician and a Brecht dramatist, while the theory of epic theatre significantly hungers for a formal aspect though on the other hand, it seems to fail to conform to ease and poetry of his dramas. It is important to say that Bertolt Brecht was practically a communist during all his life in a complicated period. His relationship to communism was developing and it can be learned that this relationship had undergone a long way from enthusiasm up to full disillusion. That is why this fact appears in my thesis; it is a statement, a truth about a great artist and a truth about the view and contemporary interpretations in our countries where he was quoted and belauded, as necessary. At staging, it is impossible to consider all aspects of Brecht personality. It is good since it leaves space for a man, one can be both Brecht a bit and also himself. It provides ?space? while showing a human being in his complicacy, it is as a search in the human soul and mind. He does not psychologize, he just states, shows a human being in particular situations including his behaviour, and at the end all these situations make a whole picture about us and about our period. Therefore, we can say that Bertolt Brecht is a great author of great dramas with timeless themes. His characters reflect contemporary people. As if nothing has changed, just the time is perceived in a bit different way, it oscillates and befogs our perception, with decoding matters becoming more difficult for us but with the essence remaining the same as before. His dramas are interesting as for formal aspect, they are ?up-to-date? providing space also for an experiment. They may serve as a formal reflection, the beauty of speech for itself.

Serova, Ekaterina ; Pešička, Jiří (advisor) ; Bischofová, Jana (referee)
Publicism of the last period of the totalitarism (Rudé právo in 1989) The theme of the thesis is based on political journalism of the last period of the totalitarism in Czechoslovakia in 1989. The leading communist daily, Rudé právo 1989 is used as the main source of the analysis. The work is divided into two parts. The first part is related to the short historical review of the communism era in Czechoslovakia since the so called Victorious February in 1948 till 1988, when the first anti-government demonstrations occurred. The second part is focused on the critical historical moments in 1989 ("Palach Week" in January 1989, petition "A Few Sentences" in July 1989, anti-government protests in August and October 1989, the collapse of the communism regime in November caused by the Velvet Revolution, the unanimous vote by the Federal Assembly). Meanwhile there is a following practical part. Its main purpose is interpretation and analysis of the articles in order to show examples of the ideological influence of the language.

Long-term development strategy for social services for the disabled to 2030 in Písek as a municipality with extended competence
GRÓFOVÁ, Zuzana
I am about to devote this dissertation to the issues of social services planning in Písek as a provincial city with focus on handicapped people. My aim is to find out whether and under what conditions it would be possible to extend a timeframe of elaborated strategies at least to 15 years. Theoretical part is divided into four chapters. Firstly, I follow conception of social politics and social welfare during the time with future outlook. Then, the area of social services is being analysed - describing their evolution, legislative frame, interpretation of quality and ways of funding. Third chapter is dedicated to community planning, its foundations and principles. In last chapter I tend to target group - handicapped people. The aim of practical part is to find out not only under what conditions the timeframe of planning can be widen but also how exactly is social services planning being done and whether this process evolves towards better quality. All this by means of semistructured interviews with seven participants of social services planning in Písek. Respondents have been selected from the side of demand municipality of Písek and supply representants of non-governmental nonprofit organizations, church and region-donated organizations. Their posts varied from higher management to work force, both in current and previous years. Survey refers to demographic analysis of target group, respondents view of current planning timeframe´s sufficiency and whether quality level of that process is rising. Evaluated interviews showed that demographic analysis were professionally set up and last community planning in given area was significantly more successful compared with previous terms. This was achieved through cooperation with non-profit organization, its methodist and outside supervisor. Extension of current social planning timeframe can be possible, according to respondents, only if a long-term state-wide strategy gets formed, being regularly updated with action plans added for up to five years long period. Main obstacles for this are frequent changes in legislative and the issue of turbulent circumstances considering target group like people in crisis. However, for handicapped people and senior citizens extending the timeframe might be more possible considering stable situation and therefore usability of long-term statistical predictions.

May 1945in optics of journal Mlada fronta in time-spiral of 65 years
Stoszková, Šárka ; Halada, Jan (advisor) ; Sekera, Martin (referee)
The thesis "Looking through the lens of the Czech daily newspaper Mlada fronta for 65 years" examines the topic of the liberation of Czechoslovakia in May, 1945. The qualitative content analysis of selected texts available from the newspaper is used to explore the interpretation of the event in Mlada fronta. The thesis has concentrated on the development of attitudes, beliefs, ways of communications and journalistic transformation of media content concerning the liberation event over time. The main objective has been to answer the question as to whether the media portrayal of the event has remained constant or altered over the stated time period and which factors influenced the portrayal. In the conclusion of this thesis we can confirm that the monitored event has been described differently in different time periods respectively, in connection with political progress and the value of democracy in the country. The more totalitarian the regime, the more the newspaper has described freedom through preferred ideology, biased themes, dogmatic posture and offered interpretations that suited the ruling party. This indicates a form of totalitarian hegemony. During periods of greater totalitarianism, the newspaper tends to describe the theme of the freedom completely within that communist ideology. However,...

Jan Jiří of Švamberk. The life story of a heir of legacy of last Rožmberk
NAUŠ, Stanislav
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to narrate the life story of Jan Jiří of Švamberk. The work begins with his childhood and the story leads to the question how his descendants dealt with father's legacy. Even though Jan Jiří was very significant person of his time, the historians have not given him a proper attention yet and they have focused only on several aspects of his life. This bachelor thesis tried to summarize information about Švamberk and also to bring new interpretation of his life. The author used available literature titles and archive documents to concentrate on Švamberk´s role both in his family relationships and on his position in politics. His character played indispensable role during debates concerning religious freedom. It was discovered that while Švamberk was debating with tolerant Catholics, other Protestants were able to confront with the Habsburgs even in armed conflict. The importance of Jan Jiří of Švamberk was also for his victory in fighting of Rožmberk's legacy. This heritage comprised, for instance, manors with gorgeous mansions, the archive in Třeboň or the famous library, where Jan Jiří could found pleasure and edification. The author attempted to prove the desire of Jan Jiří of Švamberk to be considered dignified successor of last Rožmberk. The different situation came out after Švamberk´s death and after his funeral in Ronšperk. After that his son Petr of Švamberk took care of the administration of manors himself. His irresponsible approach and refusing relations to the Habsburg was the cause why the legacy of Jan Jiří of Švamberk disappeared.
