Title: Inclusion of a child with a cochlear implant Objectives: The aim of the work was to assess the success of inclusion of pupils with hearing impairment who are users of the cochlear implant in the current educational process at the first level of elementary school from parents'point of view. Methods: The research was conducted by an anonymous questionnaire consisting of 39 questions. 17 parents of children with cochlear implant who attend elementary school participated in the study. Results: All respondents think that their child is satisfied at school and majority (82 %) of them did not face difficulties with enrolment of their child to mainstream school. Pupils are usually well integrated in physical education. Parents' choices of school type is usually influenced by more factors such as sibling and distance of the school from their home. Majority of parents lost their worries about their child's education in mainstream school within few months of school attendance. Conclusion: Results show that inclusion of a deaf child with cochlear implant into mainstream education was perceived by parents as a success and is currently not perceived as a problem.
