Sculpture as Architecture of the Future
VINDUŠKA, Michal
The theoretical part of this thesis deals with the creative expressions of sculpting and architecture, which are based on two fundamental and characteristic malleable ways: geometric form and organic form. It describes in detail some implementation of selected artists and shows on it the possibilities and methods (mainly artistic and functional) of the application of the above mentioned forms. These analyses then will help not only to compare the artistic work, but also are initial information to create an own original concept of the object, which is sculpturally implemented.

Psychology of Architecture
KOUTKOVÁ, Ilona
This bachelor work deals with all kinds of aspects that affect the final form of architectural works. I also wanted to think about the very nature and purpose of architecture, about a definition of the concepts that make up the architecture as a whole. I am interested also interplay and influence on other fields of art, which the architecture is composed of; like the very principle of architecture. And if we consider architecture as part of the art, I intend the concept of beauty in architecture. Finally, I deal with the influence of architecture on the environment, and vice versa - the environmental on architecture. Part of this work is a set of important buildings, which somehow also excited me, so I tried to express my opinion on them. In onclusion, I deal with a topic that has combined the beauty and architecture major role - Japanese garden.

Guzik, Hubert Kamil ; Švácha, Rostislav (advisor) ; Dulla, Matuš (referee) ; Czumalo, Vladimír (referee)
This thesis examines the relationship between architecture and feminism in the first half of the 20th century in Czechoslovakia. It opens by defining the dynamics of Czechoslovak feminism and architecture with regard to the theory of social movements. This text primarily focuses on the program, objectives and the modus operandi of the liberal branch of feminism, represented mainly by the non-partisan organization Ženská národní rada (Women's National Council). Members of this Council believed they could actively participate in shaping of the government policy on the social standing of women and maintained a close relationship of their organization to the state polity. We view this belief and this relationship as a model valid for a wide range of other women's organizations in that period. We consider these links the most important factor in determining the feminist organizations' relation to the movement of modern architecture. We follow the interaction of architecture and feminism in three chapters. The common denominator is the position of these two movements to modernization processes that were taking place in the nation state, in particular to the advent of the theories of scientific management. This main topic also determines the time frame of the text, beginning with formulating of social ethos in the...

Our Blue Gene Experience
Jakl, Ondřej ; Starý, Jiří
The paper describes our precious short-time opportunity to make some hands-on experience with the Bulgarian IBM Blue Gene/P system, where we tested the parallel scalability of our domain decomposition finite element solver on a greater number of processors and completed experiments with microstructure modelling of geocomposite materials. The tests showed that due to its relatively low computation/communication performance ratio this specific architecture may need optimizations of parallel codes to take advantage of its performance potential.
