SKOŘEPOVÁ, Lucie
This diploma thesis on the theme: The incidence of suicidal behaviour among drug addicts in the theoretical part deals with the development of the drug scene in the Czech Republic, the EU drugs policy in the Czech Republic, selected studies dealing with drug use, health and social consequences of drug use. Also deals with suicide behaviour, its forms, types, methods and causes of suicidal behaviour, motivation, development of data collection and the treatment of suicidal behaviour. The aim of this work was to find out the most common reasons and ways of suicidal behaviour in addicts individuals in the psychiatric hospital of the Cerveny Dvur (hereinafter referred to as PH CD ). Another objective was to determine whether the clients have undergone a treatment PH CD after the suicide attempt. On the basis of the objectives have been created three research questions. Due to the nature of the investigated problem was as a research method chosen semi- structured interview with clients. Before the research was carried out in PH CD questionnaire survey on suicidal behavior for a team project GA JU No. 103/2013/S "The effect of systematic psychotherapy tailored to the incidence of intentional self-injurious behaviour".. Based on the data from the questionnaire investigation were clients selected for this diploma thesis. Interviews were conducted with eight clients of PH CD.

Decision making of Prague moviegoers
Macháček, Ivan ; Hanzlík, Jan (advisor) ; Zelený, Martin (referee)
The aim of this work is to analyze attitudes of Prague film viewers towards watching films at the cinema and at home and to find out on what factors do they base their decision to watch a particular film. The means to achieve this goal are research of existing literature related to this subject and my own research through a questionnaire survey on a sample population of Prague with a corresponding demographic composition. The most crucial conclusions from this investigation are related to the frequency of watching movies in the cinema and at home, attitudes towards the origin and localization of movies, attitudes towards various genres, factors influencing the choice of a film and comparing the results of various demographic groups (by gender, age and education) within these topics.

Speculation on oil markets and its impact on commodity's price
Melcher, Ota ; Taušer, Josef (advisor) ; Baláž, Peter (referee) ; Müller, Štěpán (referee)
This study aims to analyse the precrisis period on the oil markets with a primary objective of assessing the role of speculation in the commodity's price development and its volatility. First it depicts the rapidly increasing speculative activity on the futures market together with the parallel oil price surge. The speculation is initially proxied by non-commercial traders' positions and subsequently quantified by Working's T-index. The paper then uses speculative traders' positions and both spot and futures prices to test for Granger causality within the framework of VAR models. For the sake of consistency it also evaluates causal links between speculation and inventories level. Further the study investigates the speculation impact on volatility of oil prices by employing various approaches in volatility quantification including GARCH models. Contrary to expectations we find that the speculatio's impact on both prices and their volatility is rather insignificant. In the last chapter we therefore seek for an explanation of the oil price developments by examining the market fundamentals. The interaction of supply and demand finally gives substantial evidence for understanding the price developments in the precrisis period.

The impact of South China Sea dispute on trade relations between China and Vietnam
Nguyen Hong, Viet ; Vlčková, Jana (advisor) ; Hasík, Gabriel (referee)
This bachelor thesis investigates the impact of South China Sea dispute on mutual relations between China and Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Thesis lays great emphasis on the analysis of mutual trading relations. The goal of this work is to find out if the dispute over territory has negative influence on mutual relations and to what extent. Therefore, thesis is divided into 3 main chapters. The introductory chapter describes position and development of each country. Second chapter uses findings from the introductory part for the analysis of political and trade relations of both countries. It focuses on the history of mutual relations and mainly it lays emphasis on current mutual relations. Last chapter of the thesis is dedicated to the issues regarding South China Sea. Motives and causes of this dispute are described in this chapter. It provides a view on the course of this territorial dispute, and also impacts on mutual relations are analyzed. The output of all three chapters helps to formulate following conclusion. Dispute over South China Sea has impact on mutual relations. The development of Leishmania in the insect vector of the genus Phlebotomus
Kvapilová, Kateřina ; Volf, Petr (advisor) ; Bilej, Martin (referee)
The work was focused on the study of various aspects of development of Leishmania in vectors of genus Phlebotomus and can be divided into two main parts. In the first part, we studied the competition of Leishmania major and L. turanica during their development in the sand flies who are natural vectors of L. major using the experimental co-infections of fluorescently marked promastigots of these two species. While both leishmania species developed similar in the intestine of Phlebotomus papatasi, L. turanica prevailed in P. duboscqi in the late stages of infection. The fluorescent marking of Leishmania should allow us also to study possible genetic exchange between species at different stages of Leishmania infection (2nd, 9th and 14th day after the infective feeding). Using the flow cytometry (FACS) we have repeatedly identified dozens of objects emitting red and green signals in the intestinal homogenates of co-infected sand flies, however further analysis with confocal microscope disproved these objects as the hybrid promastigots of Leishmania. In the second part of this thesis we investigated the role of L. major genes HASP and SHERP, which lies on the locus LmcDNA16 and are expressed exclusively in metacyclics. We used mutant lines KO (lacking the locus LmcDNA16) and HASPB (KO line with gene...

The prevention of nosocomial infections at central venous catheters in standard inpatient departments and intensive care units.
PAŽOUTOVÁ, Petra
Nosocomial infections are one of serious problems of modern medicine and nursing also nosocomial infections mean real serious problems for future. Prevention of nosocomial infections, applied together with pointed and meaningful antimicrobial therapy is the only causal solution now. This work was aimed primarily at a comparison of knowledge of common nurses working in intensive care wards and common nurses in standard wards. In general, it could be said that the aim of this work was to map the scope of knowledge of common nurses as for nosocomial infections as well as aseptic care for central venous catheters including catheter sepses. The found deficit in knowledge of common nurses pointed out the occurrence of mistakes in nursing practices. Quality of nursing is connected closely with standardisation of nursing procedures. Quantitative research inquiry was realised in 4 medical facilities: Regional hospital Liberec, a.s., Masaryk city hospital in Jilemnice, Hospital České Budějovice, a.s. and Hospital with polyclinic in Semily. As the research method there was chosen a non-standardised questionnaire. The sample of respondents was chosen as an intentional selectionand and in to statistic processing included 290 relevantly filled out forms. The research investigation also included a comparison and quantification of nursing standards. In view of the performed comparison of standards in nursing we concluded that creation of incomplete or even inconsistent standards occurs here. We have prepared a "Proposal on a standard of nursing care for inserted venous catheter", of which form could enable to implement it in medical care facilities within the Czech Republic and define clearly basic nursing procedures within the scope of these problems.
