Is Czechoslovakia break-up still an important issue?

In its regular survey in December 2007 the Public Opinion Research Centre focused on the questions about the break-up of former Czechoslovakia. A strong majority (81 %) of Czechs thinks that splitting of Czechoslovakia is not a current and live issue nowadays. About three quarters (71 %) of population assume that there is no reason to continue the discussion about causes of the Czechoslovakia break-up. About one third (32 %) of people believes it is important to think about this break-up as an considerable event of the Czech history.

Smoot - Hawley tariff and its effects on economy of The United States

This bachelor thesis focuses on effects of Smoot-Hawley tariff in The United States of America, during 1930. Specifically, the thesis focuses on the analysis of the tariff's effects to process of The Great Depression and is trying to answer the question if the tariff made The Depression worse. In the first part, there is described economic situation in the United States before the tariff passed and then there is described way, how the tariff was passed. The next part is divided into three chapters, and every single one of them analyze effects of the tariff from different sight of view, which is change of farmer's and producer's situation, monetary effects and effects of the tariff to world trade. The thesis analyzes these effects on process of the Great Depression in The United States. Conclusion of the thesis is the statement that Smoot-Hawley tariff made an effect on The Great Depression, mainly by his effects on world trade, which was lower because of the tariff and it was a break to recovery from recession.

Succession in Czech family owned businesses

The intention of this thesis is to analyse case studies and identify factors of successful succession in Czech family owned businesses (FOB). The work is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the subject and objective of my thesis. Second one deals with theoretical background of entrepreneurship, history of entrepreneurship in Czech Republic and last but not least with theoretical background of FOB. The third chapter is an analysis of researches about succession in FOB made in Czech Republic and also in other parts of world. Motivation and evaluation of empolyees

My bachelor thesis is focused on motivation and assessment of employees in the company. The aim of this thesis is to investigate the influence of team building and benefits on employees' motivation. Literature based theoretical part of my thesis describes and investigates the real meaning and purpose of motivation and basic motivational concepts. Furthermore, I outlined the basics behind employee benefits, team building and also stated the current given trends in these areas. The practical part is focused on benefit and workplace research and their impact on the general motivation to work and the relations between the employees of the Czechoslovak Commercial Bank (ČSOB). In order to collect the best results, I used the method of questionnaires. Respondents were asked to answer questions considering their satisfaction with the system of employee benefits and the importance of teamwork. Based on the survey results I propose certain changes that should lead to motivation improvement and better job performance.

Policy development and implementation: case study of social housing

The diploma thesis focuses on the process of creation and implementation of public policy which is examined on the social housing policy. The aim of this thesis is to explore how is a certain policy prepared and put into use, considering the social housing policy as an example. Therefore, the key research question inquires how the process of creation and implementation of public policy looks like. The first chapter of the thesis deals with theoretical background of the public policy process, stressing the role of public policy documents. The second chapter describes the area of Czech social politics and policy as a cover for social housing policy development. The third chapter examines the history of Czech housing policies. The final chapter focuses on the development of social housing policy and examines its connections with certain public policy documents.

European funds and their usage for logistics projects in Czech Republic.

The thesis discusses the issue of freight villages and the possible usage of European funds for their construction. The topic is very actual because by the current program period 2014-2020 has appeared change concerning the financial support of multimodal freight transportation. The aim of this thesis is to determine, whether from the production companies operating in the automotive industry exists demand for such a freight villages. Needed information has been obtained on the basis of in-depths inteviews of manufacturing companies located in the region Vysočina.

Hooligan as an object of film analysis

Final thesis reflects the preproduction and production of thesis film with the topic of radical football fans. Work defines the theme of violence in the world of rowdies and film work with them. Further analyzes not only the history of football fans, but their categorization in terms of sociology and their impact on contemporary society. Work is devoted to the history of Czech cinema, working with the motif of the football world. The reasoning at the conclusion of the thesis reflects the impact of the films on this topic at the general audience and selected subculture.

THE BACCHAE, FAUST AND LADYBIRDS

This bachelor thesis focuses on themes like the collapse of the myth of God, crisis of faith and seeking God, as well as on way to stage them in a theatrical performance. The first part of this work tries to depict changes in a relationship between a man and God and their mutual combat. The chapter dealing with the cult of Dionysus shows a clash of the two fanaticisms; the religious and the rational one. The Faust chapter is concerned with the idea of free decision making and the difficulties and the possibility of a personal crisis this freedom might cause. The final chapter The Ladybirds opens the problematic of suffering of the innocent, which is the most common objection against the existence of God. The practical part of this work reflects on the school projects and the process of making. It also asks whether it is possible to stage themes like faith in one of the most atheistic nations in the world.

Giuseppe Verdi: "Don Carlos" - opera complex scenographic project

This bachelor’s thesis aims to find complex scenographic solution of Don Carlos opera composed by Italian author Giuseppe Verdi. Apart from my own creative solution I also present theoretical chapters of authors biography, relation to his work and I compare several Don Carlos productions by Josef Jelínek who designed six unique costume variations.
During process of making the set design I came up with lots of topics to think about. I chose freedom as main topic by studying past productions, libretto and musical part. This topic is one of the key elements of the creative solution and therefore I defined it further in part of this thesis. I am also looking for artistic ways that would be the most suitable and adequate for the opera, musical-dramatic genre, in which music could be more important than libretto. I am trying to find connections to contemporary society and keep the story up to date.
