Damaging Processes of Gas Pipelines in a Long-Time Operation
Gajdoš, Lubomír
The individual types of damage, which can occur during operation of gas pipelines, are assessed from the mechanical point ofview. Besides description of particular damaging processes, taking place in gas pipelines during operation, quantitative definitions of damage in faatigue, stress corrosion, general corrosion and pitting corrosion are proposed. Further a determination of critical parameters for individual kinds of damage is presented.

Diffusion processes in modified humic gels
Grunt, Jakub ; Sedláček, Petr (referee) ; Klučáková, Martina (advisor)
This bachelor thesis presents a study on diffusion of cupric ions in humic acid gels. A total of four types of samples were made during a modified preparation of gels. Humic acids were dissolved either in sodium hydroxide or in the solution of sodium triphosphate. Subsequently, hydrochloric acid and magnesium chlorid were used for "precipitation" of the gels. Gained samples differed particularly in the nature of interactions forming their gel structures. All the samples were subjected to diffusion experiments. Two different methods – constant-source diffusion and immediate planar source diffusion – were used to assign the diffusion coefficients. Both these methods were based on monitoring how the diffusion profiles of cupric ions in gels develop in time and on assigning the overall diffusion flow. The aim of the thesis was to assess the impact of gel preparation procedure and resultant structure on diffusion coefficients of cupric ions and their transport attributes in gels in general. Two different methods of diffusion inquiry were chosen particularly to assess the impact of cupric ion concentration on the diffusion coefficient.

CZECH GREEN´S 2003 - 2005 / filming life of political party
Matějková, Daniela ; JANEČEK, Vít (advisor) ; VACHEK, Karel (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to create a study of my own time-lapse documentary movie about the Green Party. It tries to grasp my own longtime relationship with the party and with the movie aiming to find final interpretation of the facts that happened in the years 2003- 2005 in which the party was facing radical transformation. It reflects more personal than academic interpretation of the movie and the political situation itself. It is based on several historical film documents which try to set lights to the facts that are usually hidden to everyday viewer.

Drugs and activities that could cause danger to life, health or damage to property
HANDSCHUHOVÁ, Silvie
The objective of this thesis is to summarize the effects of drugs, especially of the cannabinoids and amphetamine type stimulants, and to analyse which of these substances leads to high-risk activities, that could endanger life, health or result in damage to property. One of these activities, an important one, is driving under the influence of drugs. Driving itself is a complex demand, involving perception, decision making, psychomotor skills, knowledge, as well as attitudes and personality characteristics. Substance use and abuse has an impact on the functioning of the brain and mental processes and therefore on the performance of the driving task. Driving under the influence of drugs is a high risk activity which endangers not only the driver but also their surroundings. In the last few years, the Czech Republic registered a rapid increase in the number of impaired drivers, namely at police check points and in car accidents. The young drivers are mostly under influence of marijuana, respectively tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Its negative effect on driving results from impaired co-ordination, slowed complex reaction time and in space and time distortion. The second group of drugs which can impair drivers is amphetamine type stimulants. Amphetamines are frequently sought by truck drivers, especially long-haul drivers, in Western Europe for its stimulative effects. In the Czech Republic the methamphetamine, Pervitin, is much more common. Intoxication is characterized by increased wakefulness, increased physical activity, increased respiration, rapid heart rate and an irregular heartbeat. The risk factors for driving are a lack of concentration and an overestimation of one{\crq}s own capabilities. After the acute phase of intoxication subsides, fatigue or states of narcolepsy may occur. Another amphetamine-based drug is methylenedioxymethamphetamine, MDMA or Ecstasy. This synthetic substance, chemically related to mescaline, is dangerous due to its ability to regulate body temperature. On rare but unpredictable occasions, this can lead to sharp hyperthermia, resulting in liver, kidney and cardiovascular system failure, and death. It can also cause hallucinations. All common drugs are easily detectable with ``drug test-cards{\crqq}, which are used during police checks around the the world. The Czech Republic is currently testing their utilization and is preparing legislation accordingly. Utilization of these tests during random checks could help to decrease the number of fatal road accidents and could help to decrease the number of impaired drivers on the roads.

Markovian processes and solving them in MS Excel
Löw, Alexandr ; Kořenář, Václav (advisor) ; Šindelářová, Irena (referee)
Markovian processes are stochastic processes modeling the behavior of units that is not deterministic. We know only the probability with which these units are transferred between states. Analysis of these processes is largely based on matrix multiplication, which can be, especially for larger number of states, difficult and time consuming while manually calculated. Therefore, these calculations are performed using computers. The aim of this work is to develop an application which will be realizing these calculations in MS Excel and presenting results in clear form. This application analyzes both the absorbing as well as regular markovian chains and is primarily intended for use in the teaching of stochastic models.

The integration of MS Excel and BusinessObjects
Žižka, Ondřej ; Novotný, Ota (advisor) ; Hauzírek, Michal (referee)
The main goal of this work is to analyze the change in reporting mortgage processes in the GE Money Bank from the solution based on the application Microsoft Excel into a state, where the mortgage reporting is integrated into the solution based on BusinessObjects platform. And at the same time to carry out the comparison of new and previous solution. To partial purposes belongs the quantification of time savings and benefits resulting from the integration and adumbration of the next integration step "Generation 2". These aims were achieved by obtaining theoretic knowledge of Business Intelligence, by my participation in the real project practically and by consultations of knowledge with specialists in practice. Main contribution of this work is in suggestion and analysis of the reporting solution in the firm. It enables speed up and automatizes processes of data measure, which were ineffective and time-consuming capacities of workers. The work is divided into the four main chapters. The teoretic forepart introduces the role of Business Intelligence in a firm and acquaints readers with contemporary trends in BI. The second part has practical background. The Business Intelligence architecture in GE Money Bank is analyzed in this part. Awareness of BI architecture and data sources is important due to understanding connection of the BusinessObjects with the database. In the third part the project "Integration of mortgage measure from MS Excel to the BusinessObjects" is introduced and it is also suggested, how the integration would be proceed. At last part my personal findings are summarized, benefits of integration are formulated and future view is described. Last but not least an advice resulting from the project is showed or what would be possible to do better next time.

Reflection of the Moscow Trials in the Czechoslovak Press
Müller, Jiří ; Pullmann, Michal (advisor) ; Vojtěchovský, Ondřej (referee)
This bachelor thesis inquires into the reflection of the Moscow Trials in the second half of the 1930's in the Czechoslovak press. It charts the political spectrum in light of the most significant political streams in Czechoslovakia in the second half of the 1930's. Beside the qualitative analysis is lesser used quantitative analysis, which reflects the interests of the Czechoslovak press in the Moscow Trials. The thesis insists on the representative choice of partail press that time. The objective of the work is to bring the sum of stances to the Moscow Trials on the pages of Czechoslovak press. The main questions are: how the Trials were preceived, what was criticised, how The Sovie Union and Stalin were preceived against a background of the Trials, which antagonisms were during the Trials in the Czechoslovak society, how the editor's offices stances were changed during the Trials and the most significant interest of the thesis are diferent stances in the Czechoslovak society and political streams. KEY WORDS: Muscow Trials, Great Terror, Czechoslovak press, Soviet-czechoslovak alliance

Grapevine cryoconservation
Faltus, Miloš ; Kotková, Renata ; Bilavčík, Alois ; Zámečník, Jiří
Storage of grapevine germplasm is endangered by biotic and abiotic stressors in the field conditions, and it is connected with the risk of valuable accession loss. Cryoconservation is a method which eliminates the risk and makes a safe long-term storage of plant germplasm possible. Cryoconservation method is based on storage of plant material at a temperature of liquid nitrogen when all processes are practically stopped but the viability of plant material remains. This methodology describes preparation of plant explants before cryoconservation, apical shoot tip dehydration by cryoprotectants, procedure and principles of long-time plant storage and plant recovery for evaluation of explant survival and regeneration. The Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic is the user of this methodology and it will utilize it in the framework of “National Programme on Conservation and Utilization of Plant, Animal and Microbial Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture”.

Coeliac disease and its impact in the life of a child at younger school-age.
MIKEŠOVÁ, Annemarie
Celiac sprue or celiac disease leads to a lifelong adherence to the diet, i.e. to a total exclusion of gluten from the diet. In celiac disease antibodies are released, that act autoimmune and affect the inherent small intestinal tissue, while the detachment of antibodies is caused by the presence of gluten in food. In pathological process the disorder of the morphology of small intestinal walls occurs, causing the reduction of intestinal villus height, which are physiologically present on every intestinal mucosa. In a critical state the subtotal or total atrophy of intestinal villi rises means their partial or complete disappearance. This damage of mucosa results in chronic inflammatory processes, which cause malabsorption.Celiac sprue is a chronic, autoimmune disease developing either on genetic background or due to the immune response. The basic and only treatment consist in longlife exclusion of gluten from the diet., i.e. the suppression of toxic protein occurring in cereal grain. Celiac sprue belongs to the incurable diseases and preventing the complications, which may occur in relation to a bad regime, is a matter of course. Nowadays the importance is attached to prevention, which is divided into three basic levels: primary, secondary and tertiary. The primary prevention is crucial, it is when the incidence of the disease is sought out. The time, when the gluten gets into the child´s body for the first time, has a great influence on the development of the disease. The main goal of this thesis was to map the issue of celiac disease of early-school-age children with a focus on the specifics of nursing using the literature available. The celiac disease issue was searched out in bibliographic publications and on the Internet. Based on the stated objective, the synthesis method, explanation or data demonstration was chosen for this bachelor thesis. Economic point of view is regarded as a fundamental issue of the disease. It turned out that only a small number of czech health insurance companies provides a catering allowance to celiac patients. It was found out, that in many EU states so called community care provided by community nurse, exists. There is no trend like this in Czech republic despite the fact, that this field can be studied in the master study. The nurse is an unsubstitutable member and fundamental pillar of a multidisciplinary team. She also has significant competencies in patient care and constitutes an irreplaceable place in nursing. The output of this theoretical thesis is to create a comprehensive view of the range of problems related to celiac disease of early-school-age children.

The stock market volatility in the Czech Republic : rises and falls
Princ, Michael ; Netuka, Martin (advisor) ; Seidler, Jakub (referee)
The thesis concentrate on a volatility analysis os a stock market in the Czech Republic in years 1994-2009 including a comparison with a data available from world developed stock markets - namely European region, USA and Japan, econometric tools include GARCH model and its most popular derivates and generalisations I.E. IGARCH, EGARCH AND APARCH PROCESSES. The thesis is split into two main parts. The first part is devoted to a PSE volatility analysis based only on domestic data series involving GARCH class model estimations, forecasting abilities comparison and also a structural-break analysis based on the ICSS algorithm including the Inclan-Tiao test and its successors. Next part involves a dynamic analysis based on DCC MVGARCH model, which describes a change in a volatility spillover effect during the time. Data source used during the model estimation includes a development of stock indices and also net profits from point of view of Czech investor investing on global markets. It is furthermore supported by Granger causality estimation, which reveals a long-lasting unidirectional dependence of PSE on other developed markets. The complex results, which arise from a synergistic compound of particular econometric models, show that the stock market in the Czech Republic came through three main phases.
