Tuktamyšev, Eduard ; Plchová, Božena (advisor) ; Hanzlíková, Helena (referee)
In my Bachelor's thesis I am focusing on foreign trade between the Russian Federation and the Slovak Republic. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first chapter, contains the most important macroeconomic indicators of the both countries. The second and the third chapter independently deal with foreign trade of the countries concerned. Moreover, these sections discuss the territorial and commodity structure. The last chapter concentrates on the European Union foreign trade policy and its impacts on trade with the countries outside the European Union. This part of the thesis includes the detailed description of foreign trade relationships between Russia and Slovakia as well as the Slovak pro-export policy. The aim of this work is to point out how foreign trade between these two countries have changed in the last several years, but in particular after Slovakia's accession to the European Union, and then during and after the financial crisis.

The Students themselves - Student Center Poříčí
Rotreklová, Jana ; Katovská, Kateřina (referee) ; Havliš, Karel (advisor)
The theme of my work was designing of a house on a corner site, which lies on the bank of the river Svratka on the edge of the city districts Staré Brno and Štýřice. The site is located in proximity to two universities and the building program is based on this situation. I propose there a student dormitory, which will be able to accommodate 201 students. There are also a school canteen, small sushi bar and a shop located on the ground floor. Parking is situated on two underground floors as well as technical facilities of the building. Mass of the building is a result of the position and shape of the site. The building is L-shaped, slightly receding in the corner and widening a sidewalk. The concept is based on the contrast between private and common areas in the accommodation part of the building, which occupies the second to seventh floor. Private parts with bedrooms are compact and closed, these four masses protrude into the street. Three glassed atriums rise among them throughout the whole height of the facade. The public spaces and community rooms are located there. The last floor recedes from the street and offers beautiful views from the spacious terrace.

Krejčíková, Jana ; Munková, Gabriela (advisor) ; Tabery, Paulína (referee)
The diploma thesis, named "Domestic violence against children, focusing on the analysis of the system of care for vulnerable children" identifies different types and forms of violence against children, their implications and consequences. The work is focused on child abuse and neglect syndrom and children who witness domestic violence between partners or parents. The work is focused on concepts such as the endangered child, the best interest of the child and last but not least, the rights of children, which are an important concept for the whole issue. This section discussed the possibility of loss of family background, such as prevention and rehabilitation of their families. Following the analysis of the Czech system of care for vulnerable children, describes the inevitable transformation of the system, which would it be to streamline and focus primarily on the best interest of the child. The focus of the next part is players who are involved in child protection, such as doctors, social workers and non-profit organizations. Actors are divided into two groups in the works. The first group consists of players who come into contact with children at risk as a first (doctor, police, etc.)....

Methodology for Managing of Enterprise Information System Complexity
Holub, Ilja ; Basl, Josef (advisor) ; Antlová, Klára (referee) ; Kopeček, Pavel (referee)
Complexity of business information systems (IS) and information and communication technology (ICT) in general is a challenge faced by both IT professionals and project managers, but also the users of these systems, whether as employees of enterprises and organizations or their customers, partners or suppliers. In this work we study the complexity and its manifestations in informatics. We review relevant literature to analyze the state of the art in methods and approaches used for building and maintaining business information systems. The main results of this analysis is realization that even though complexity is considered an important parameter that have a negative impact on performance of information systems, the current methods and approaches for IT system maintenance do not provide any tools for complexity evaluation or management. The author therefore based on existing approaches and methodologies is establishing his own definition of a metrics to measure the complexity of the information system. The complexity is defined as the sum of the individual entities of system UML models, which are selected according to the methodology MMDIS to consistently describe all relevant content dimensions of the system. Subsequently derives causal relationship between the complexity of each dimension. Both between each other in one phase of the life cycle of the information system and in time. The next section examines the reasons and mechanisms to increase the complexity of the corporate information system and identifies the causes, characteristics, stakeholders, processes and life cycle stages of the IS, which influence this growth. Next we investigate impact of IS complexity on its implementation and we identify the critical processes involved in day to day operation of IS, in its maintenance and in extending its functionality. The main aim of this dissertation thesis is to design a methodology for managing the complexity of the information system and its validation in practice on a real SAP implementation project. In addition, we provide a software tool written in ABAP programming language. This program can be used as a tool of the methodology for measuring SAP IS complexity.

Social situation of immigrants living in selected localities of the Czech Republic from the perspective of selected health determinants
ZÁLESKÁ, Veronika
According to Wilkinson and Marmot (2003), the area of ten social health determinants constitutes probably the most comprehensive approach to analysis to the individual's health condition. The goal of the dissertation consisted in assessing the social health determinants in the area of social support, stress, childhood and transportation. The quantitative investigation method of the research subject was implemented through questioning. The research set consisted of legally settled immigrants, living in the Czech Republic for more than one year, in age category of 18-65 years, of Vietnamese, Mongolian and Ukrainian nationality. The respondents lived in selected localities: capital of Prague, South Bohemian Region and Vysočina Region. 246 respondents in total were questioned. The investigation results show that Ukrainians perceive the Czech Republic as their home state more frequently than the Vietnamese and Mongolians. Relationship between selected characteristics of social support, subjective assessment of health, presence of depression and stress symptoms of psychic and physical origin was proved. The ability to communicate in Czech language was shown to be very important in the area of social support. One tenth of the respondents is daily exposed to effect of stress. The Mongolians reported most frequent exposure to stress situations, while the Ukrainians reported least frequent exposure. The most respondents have signs of depression. The respondents who have medium, serious or extreme depression assessed their health with higher statistically significant frequency as mediocre. More exacting movement activities are performed with higher statistically significant frequency by men, university graduates and intellectually working respondents. The immigrants who have reported to perform regular walking and movement activities assess their health as good and report absence of signs of depression. During pregnancy, the female respondents observed regular examinations and the course of their pregnancy was predominantly physiological. A high percentage of female respondents worked 9 and more hours during pregnancy. The health condition of the respondents' youngest children is good; most of them have suffered only common children's diseases. More than one tenth of the respondents' children have no health insurance and vaccination. The immigrants often find themselves in adverse social situation, and it is therefore important to adopt measures to eliminate its impacts. The crucial measures include for example social programs focused on immigrants, preventive programs focused on foreigners' children and increasing language knowledge of the immigrants.

Economic and political developement of czech borderland, the so called Sudetenland, in the times of the Great depression
Rychetský, Petr ; Stellner, František (advisor) ; Soběhart, Radek (referee)
The aim of this work is to analyze the economy of czech borderland, the so called Sudetenland, in the time of the Great depression, and following nationalistic radicalisation of german minority of inter-war Czechoslovakia. The first part of this work is dedicated to the economic potential, characteristics of the industry and social background of czech borderland. This part aswell considers the goverment's anti-crisis steps, and their diverse impacts on the borderland and innerland. In the very last chapter there is certain space for evaluation anti-crisis policies, and also political results of the crisis on german minority in the than Czechoslovakia. This work answers the question, why the great depression led to the radicalisation of Germans in Sudetenland, and why official anti-goverment policy didn't fulfill the expectations of Germans. The work depicts, that government's desire to meet the demand of german minority came too late, and only after the awareness of direct threat. The work targets on how briliant nazi propaganda was in abusing ordinary people's misery towards it's benefit, and whether great depression was crucial feature for German's reluctance of living in Czechoslovakia.

The Macroeconomic Impacts of the Selected Oil Shocks in the United States of America
Šikulová, Markéta ; Johnson, Zdenka (advisor) ; Tajovský, Ladislav (referee)
The aim of this study is to analyze macroeconomic impacts of four selected oil shocks on the United States economy and their subsequent comparison. The first part of this study deals with the theoretical background of supply shock, its influence on the economy, and the possible responses of economic policy. Furthermore, in the first part I focus on the historical events that led to the oil crisis, specifically on the OPEC oil embargo imposed on the United States, production cuts caused by the Iranian revolution, Iran-Iraq War and Persian Gulf War and on the demand as well as the supply factors that led to the oil shock of 2007-2008. The second part of this study presents the specific impacts of four selected oil shocks on the US economy and their comparison. Based on the findings, it was possible to confirm the hypothesis saying that past oil shocks, especially those that took place in the 1970's, had more negative impacts on the United States economy in comparison with those that happened more recently. In other words, that the effects of changes in oil prices have lessened over time. There are many reasons of this moderation, but the most important ones include more effective monetary policy response, the decrease in wage rigidities, and more recently also the decline of United States dependency on imported oil.

Macroeconomic Factors as Drivers of LGD Prediction: Empirical Evidence from the Czech Republic
Belyaev, Konstantin ; Belyaeva, Aelita ; Konečný, Tomáš ; Seidler, Jakub ; Vojtek, Martin
This paper focuses on key macroeconomic driving factors influencing the loss given default (LGD) – an important credit risk parameter determining credit losses of the banking sector. Various econometric approaches are applied on both individual and aggregated data for different bank segments in order to identify the sensitivity of LGD parameters to both the micro characteristics of debtors and aggregated macro-level data. Despite the relatively low importance of macro variables in the model combining micro- and macroeconomic information, our estimates suggest that the macroeconomic environment contributes directly to the variation in LGD. The results from the different approaches confirm a negative link between LGD and consumption growth for the retail portfolio, while in the case of the corporate segment, a negative link between LGD and real GDP growth is identified. Importantly, given that aggregation effects and non-linearities may substantially affect the choice of relevant macroeconomic variables, it is essential to distinguish between models employing purely macroeconomic data and models combining micro- and macro-based information.
