Good practice of selected nursing procedures
MLEZIVOVÁ, Petra
Introduction Nursing is a independent scientific discipline with one main aim: maintain and support health of population. Nursing care is performed by skilled nurse using nursing techniques. Particular nursing techniques are always modified by current state of health and needs of patient. Together with other disciplines, also nursing must refect changes of the modern age. Nursing practice and theory lead to qualitative changes by implementing of evidence-based practice. Evidence-based practice in nursing is process connecting best nursing experience and expertise of nurses, which together determine the optimal care. Goals of the thesis To complete this thesis, three goals were determined. Firts goal was to find out, what was the source of particular nursing techniques performed by nurses. Second goal was to find out, if "good practise" was used when performing particular nursing techniques. Last goal was to fin out, what was the general knowedge of the "evidence based practise" phrase among nurses. Materials and methods Research investigation of the thesis was performed using the methods of qualitative and quantitative research. Quantitative research was perfefomed using the questionnaires distributed among general nurses working at inpatient wards. Results of research were evaluated using graphs and tables. Pearson´s chi square test was used for statistical processing. Qualitative research was executed using the direct observation method. Six different categories were set. Data were colected to record form, which was later on used for analysis of observed figures. Observation was focused on comprehensive hygienic care, divided into following categories: oral hygiene, care of hospital clothing, bathing of not self-sufficient patient, care of nails, skin and washing the hair. Results Results of the thesis allowed to clarify links between performing the hygiene care and evidence-based practise / good practise. These results can also be used as a contribution on coferences regarding this topic and as a material in teaching the nursing. Using the statistically preocessed data, hypotehsis were evaluated. H1: General nurses perform particular nuring techniques more based on habitual practise of their department than on local professional health care standards. H1 was confirmed. H2: General nurses perform particular nursing techniques more based on habitual practise of their department then on EBN. H2 was confirmed. H3: General nurses with the bachelors or masters degree have better awareness of EBN than nurses witout university degree. H3 was confirmed. Research question was asked - What is the role of EBN in particular nursing techniques? Observation study revealed that EBN is not of high importance in performing nursing hygiene care. Conclusion Thesis could highlight weaknesses in providing hygienic care and evidenced based nursing. It could also inspire all who perform their job with joy and respect and wish all the best for their patients. Last but not least, thesis could inspire all who want to provide fist-rate and safe care and leave the work with self-satisfaction.

Experimentální zkoumání elektromagnetické aktivity kvasinkových buněk na milimetrových vlnách
Jelínek, František ; Pokorný, Jiří ; Šaroch, Jaroslav
The direct detection of oscillations in biological cells may deliver strong evidence for Fröhlich´s theory of coherent excitation in biological systems. Some results of measurement at millimeter waves published in the literature are mentioned. A laboratory equipment for the measurement of mm-waves excitations in yeast cells is described. The measurement system is controlled by computer and measured data are stored in the computer memory for evaluation. Some results of the evaluation are given.

"Death, Death, you are always so carving of lives." Mortality and funeral ritual in Cheb in the second half of 19th century
KOLOUCHOVÁ, Jana
The presented thesis deals with the phenomenon of death in the second half of the 19th century using the area around the Cheb town as an example. The source base is made up by information from Christian registers of deaths, prescriptive regulations and tangible evidences. As a main methodological basis the Historical Demography was chosen, but the other approaches were used as a Historical Anthropology and Art History. The most important emphasis was oriented on getting results from statistical research. The index of death issues was researched from several circumstances. Not only the data on approximate life expectancy, infant mortality and seasonal movement was reached, but also the analysis of the causes of death was made with the respect of its German terms. The attention was oriented on infectious diseases, with which the society of the second half of 19th century was afflicted too. The question of spread of epidemics is given into the wider context in the subsequent chapter, which is devoted to influence to prevent the gradual lengthening of life expectancy. The attention was devoted to the analysis of preserved tombstones from the 2nd half of 19th century on the base of fieldwork. The artifacts were assessed from the point of view of artistic representation. The epitaphs were recorded as well for the identification of specific persons. The conclusion of this topic was the thought of vandalism of modern time and the importance of preservation of the testimonial of funeral culture as a proof of high art. The main aim of presented thesis is not only to find out what were the mortality situations of the monitored period, but also the changes of funeral rite influenced by emancipation of bourgeois society. The connection with early modern period tradition of colossal noble funeral ceremony was pointed out. The shift of attention from the deceased to the bereaved was substantiated on the analysis of the preserved tombstones from the second half of 19th century and from the parsing of the funeral announcements in the regional press. The complexity was amplified by the study of lives of the two generations of sculptors from Cheb, who influenced unchangeably the appearance of the local cemetery. Thanks to the language analysis of the term ?the Death? presented on the pages of Glossaries from that time and by the excursion into the folk?s habits connected with the end of life journey of rural population, the issues of Death and funeral ritual were studied from multiple perspectives. For obtaining the complete view, there was necessary to work not only with results of statistics, but also to consider the interdisciplinary approach.

The knowledge of the Emergency medical service paramedics of Ustecky region in the field of crisis preparedness
CMOREJ, Patrik Christian
In the diploma work, we familiarised the reader with the basic theoretical starting points concerning emergency medical services and preparedness for emergencies. First of all, in this part, we elaborated a basic overview of the organisational structure of the emergency medical services of the Ústecký kraj region, and of its subdivisions. Next, we outlined the educational system of the paramedical staff of the emergency medical services of the Ústecký kraj region, focused on the area of crisis management. The crisis management competence of paramedical staff involved in emergency medical services was the subject of a separate sub-chapter. We linked these chapters with the issue of the formation of the department of disaster medicine. Here, we defined the tasks and aims of disaster medicine. To create a better understanding of the issue, a part of the chapter consists of the basic terminology used in disaster medicine. The main aim of the diploma work is the analysis of the knowledge of the paramedical staff of the emergency medical services of the Ústecký kraj region in terms of preparedness for emergencies. The sub-objectives of the thesis are the analysis of the knowledge of the medical rescue workers of the emergency medical services of the Ústecký kraj region in terms of preparedness for emergencies, and the analysis of general nurses' knowledge of, and qualifications in, the specialist anaesthesiological-resuscitative care of the emergency medical services of the Ústecký kraj region in terms of preparedness for emergencies. The methodology of the work lay in the quantitative analysis of statistical data that we gathered from questionnaires that were filled in by randomly selected respondents among the paramedical staff of the emergency medical services of the Ústecký kraj region. We prepared the content of the questionnaire in the context of the issues studied. The respondents chose from a number of pre-defined answers to a total of 20 questions. The data obtained underwent statistical analysis with the use of statistical research methods, scaling, measurement in descriptive statistics, elementary statistical processing, non-parametric testing, estimation theory, and parametric testing. From the results of the practical part of the diploma work, it is evident that the knowledge of the medical rescue workers of the emergency medical services in terms of the preparedness for emergencies of the Ústecký kraj region is close to the normal frequency distribution N (mi and sigma). Also the general nurses' knowledge of, and qualification in, the specialist anaesthesiological-resuscitative care of the emergency medical services of the Ústecký kraj region, in terms of preparedness for emergencies, is close to the normal frequency distribution N (mi and sigma).

Sheep breeding in conditions organic and conventional farming
HOMOLKOVÁ, Monika
Sheep husbandry has been rising for a long time in the Czech Republic. The number of flocks of sheep has been increasing gradually, which is an evidence of their popularity among breeders. Thanks to the hardiness of sheep, their breeding is mostly concentrated in the mountaneous an submontaneous areas where they are utilized not only for prime meat or milk production but also for mainaining the landscape. The goal of my thesis is to evaluate sheep husbandry at two farms managed under conventional and ecological conditions respectively, in the submontaneous area of Southern Bohemia. The distance between the two farms is approximately 1.5 km. The same indicators ( ewe reproduction, flock management, nutrition, pasture methods and system of breeding) were examined at both farms. The data were observed during the period of two years ? 2011 and 1012.
