Design of digital sound level meter
Dudková, Zuzana Anna ; Rubínová, Dana (referee) ; Haltof, Vladimír (advisor)
This bachelor‘s thesis deals with the design of a sound level meter. The major aim is to broaden the range of existing products and provide a visually apealling device with the respect of its funcionality and technical parameteres. The thesis comprises the analytical part which scans the present situation on the market, then follows the designing part, which presents variants of the design including the final one. The latter part of the thesis deals with the individual aspects of the final version.
Analysis of Spectral Density and Directional Radiation of Baroque, Modern, and Plastic Trombone
Cibuľa, Marek ; Otčenášek,, Zdeněk (referee) ; Jirásek, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis is focused on spectral and directivity analysis of three types of trombones - baroque, modern and plastic and their experimental measurement. It describes the way of a measurement realization with microphone field used for recording and technical realization of signal processing. It discusses relationships between material, mechanical dimensions and final timbre of sound.

Selected Milestones in the History of Sound Reinforcement
Středa, Jan ; HADRABA, Jakub (advisor) ; PINKAS, Martin (referee)
This master's essay shows a detailed view on the development of the use of sound engineering for live performance. It presents the evolution of technological advancements from the first audio recordings, through the emergence of the speakers, and to the first historical reinforcement of the spoken word. Following is the chronology of how live sound engineering has changed over time, and how the specific professions such as FOH sound engineer, monitor sound engineer, and system engineer have evolved. It also discusses how the production and rental companies formed. It explores in detail "The Wall Of Sound" system, which was very unique at the time. The conclusion of the historical overview, that this paper discusses, ends with the emergence of the digital era. Modern reinforcement methods used today are demonstrated by the realization of the sound system of the London stadium during the 2012 summer Olympic games.
Current situation of loudness of sound signals
Kravařík, Jindřich ; URBAN, Ondřej (advisor) ; DVOŘÁK, Aleš (referee)
The topic of this thesis is the permanently worsening situation in the area of loudness and dynamic range of sound signals being delivered to customers, both on classic media and in broadcast. It discusses the reasons and consequences of the current situation. These problems are global and they have impact on every listener and viewer. Extremely varying loudness of broadcast and terrifying state of some records being published at big media houses are a target of complaints for a long time. At the time of writing, solutions to improve the situation are finally emerging. These solutions are evaluated in the last part of this thesis and using them examples of improperly treated dynamics are given.
Low frequency amplification for live sound aplication
Hamouzová, Eva ; PINKAS, Martin (advisor) ; GUŠTAR, Milan (referee)
This thesis offers insight to the issue of subwoolfer amplification in live sound application. The introduction discusses the role of subwoofers in sound practices and the impact of low-frequency spectrum of the human body. It describes a creation of PA system as process of design, construction and final control measurement. In first part thesis deals with principles of connecting several subwoolfer sources to the systems - Arrays. It describes Radiation patterns and evaluates consistency of sound field on low frequency range. Further part of work follow up the application of delay of whole system or its parts, Beam steering. The aim of this work is to evaluate particular systems from practical point of view when used in interiors and exteriors on so called "Open air" venues.
Noise map
Lokaj, Jiří ; Kubičková, Alena (referee) ; Rozman, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this paper is to introduce the measurement of noise and create a noise map in a geographic information system. The first part is focused on describing the physical properties of sound in space, atmospheric and physiological acoustics. It also deals with the physiological effects of noise on the human body and technology needed for measure and process noise. Other part describes the structure of a geographic information system and noise map. The last part is about the practical creation of noise maps, includes a description of the real measurement results and evaluation
Analog Guitar Multieffect
Zapletal, Ondřej ; Petržela, Jiří (referee) ; Staněk, Miroslav (advisor)
Presented thesis is focused on guitar effects used for sound modification produced by an electric guitar. The main aim of this thesis is an introduction into guitar effects topic and the design of selected types chosen as follows: overdrive, noise gate and delay. Final multieffect is created by these mentioned components. Another part of presented thesis is the design of source feeding the whole final multieffect. Furthermore, the design of chosen components is presented in this thesis as well as the including of control simulations and PCBs.
Noise map
Němcová, Michaela ; Potočňák, Tomáš (referee) ; Rozman, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this paper is to introduce the measurement of noise. The first part is focused on describing the physical properties of sound in space, atmospheric and physiological acoustics. It also deals with the physiological effects of noise on the human body and technology needed for measure and process noise. Conclusion describes the structure of a geographic information system (GIS).The conclusion summarizes the results of individual measurements, showing noise maps and detailed analysis.
Microcontroller based system for voice transfer
Kapitančik, Maroš ; Kaczmarczyk, Václav (referee) ; Bradáč, Zdeněk (advisor)
The aim of this thesis have to introduce us with digitalized transmission of speech with limited data flow and construct device witch can comunicate on this level. Theoretical part is describing base creation of sound human preception and issues with digitizing. Proposed device uses hardware codec VS1063a. Coding is applied with IMA ADPCM. Scale of incoming analog audio signal can be up to 4kHz. Inside system is controled by microcontroler, witch take care about others parts. For comunication with other moduls is used wireless transceivers module. Software part describes confuguration and selected options of every individual part. Next is explained principle of entire system. For comunication was implemented packet data structure. This implementation raised data flow but saved error state in transmit.
