Level of Drivers Knowledges ofFirst Aid

Abstracts This bachelor work deals with the level of knowledge in rendering first aid by drivers. The theoretical part focuses on general principles in providing first aid and guidelines in selected situations ( unconsciousness, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, shock, hemorrhage, accidents). Also given are legal provisions concerning first aid, the procedure after a traffic accident and statistics of traffic accidents. In the empirical part a quantitative approach was used and data was collected by a questionaire. Respondents were the drivers from the Kladno region, chosen at random. The survey concentrated not only on theoretical knowledge of the drivers in providing first aid, but also on finding out obstacles that prevent them from doing so. The results show the ignorance of guidelines in situations, where we are not sure, if an unconsious wounded persone is breathing or not. On the contrary, very good knowledge was shown in the area of hemorrhage. The absolute success rate was in the response to the question: " What do we administer to wounded persone with an abdominal trauma ?". The most frequent given obstacles to rendering first aid was the fear of harm and the fear of lack of knowledge.
