Vztah mezi zadlužeností domácností a hospodářským cyklem ve vybraných evropských zemích
Oleinik, Aleksandr
The aim of the work is to identify the relationship between household in-debtedness and the economic cycle in selected countries. In the empirical part, the analysis of the period 1996Q1-2022Q4 is carried out, based on data obtained from the BIS (Bank for International Stettlements) and Eurostat. The selection of countries was carried out with the help of work C. Gräb-ner, P. Heimberg, J. Kapeller and B. Schütze, 2019, where the EU states are divided into 4 economic groups. The following were selected: Core (Germany, Belgium), economies with a significant financial sector (Luxembourg, Netherlands), periph-ery (Italy, France), catch-up economies (Poland, Czech Republic). Two crises occurred in the reporting period, financial (2008) and pandem-ic COVID-19 (2020), so the time series was additionally divided into two sections 1996Q1-2007Q4 and 2008Q1-2019Q4, in order to verify the impact of the 2008 crisis on the relationship between debt and the economic cycle. Correlation and vector autoregression with the extension of Granger causality were used for the analysis . It was found that at time t there is a very weak correlation between the economic cycle and household indebtedness . Granger causality shows that the relationship in most states is endogenous, i.e. household indebtedness and the economic cycle interact, but in some states one-sided Granger causality has been identified. In the case of Germany, household indebtedness is a leading indicator of the economic cycle in all the periods examined, whereas in Italy household in-debtedness is a leading indicator only for the whole period). Luxembourg was the only country where no Granger causality was found.

Michalčíková, Alena ; Kadeřábková, Božena (advisor) ; Babin, Jan (referee)
This thesis deals with the analysis of influence of choosen macroeconomic and demographic factors on the height of household indebtedness in Czech Republic from 2007 to 2012. The main goal is to study the influence of the unemployment rate on the total household indebtedness. This paper follows the study written by Erin Turinetti and Hong Zhuang (the analysis of indicators that cause growth of household indebtedness in U. S.) with the intention to verify their results on the czech households. In recent paper, this anlysis was extended by the influence of gross domestic product and job vacancies. Theoretical part deals with definition of household, with the theory of consumption and with the causes and development of getting into debt. In practical part of this paper there is examined the influence of individual factors on household indebtedness with the aid of regression analysis. On the basis of models it was proved that unemployment rate has significant influence on the total indebtedness. The increase of this indicator by 1 % will increase indebtedness by 16,5 %. Another important factor reveals to be gross domestic product. Its growth by 1 % leads to 0,000538 % growth in household indebtedness. The variables representing influence of share of inhabitance on basis of achieved education and job vacancies are covered in the extended model. The tendency to higher indebtedness was found out at university graduates. Job vacancies have also positive influence on the height of household indebtedness. It was also proven that the household indebtedness was 9 % higher during the years when economic crisis took place in comparison with another years. The data from Czech Statisitcal Bureau and from ARAD (Czech National Bank) was used for the purpose of this paper.

Household debt in the Czech Republic
Ullrychová, Jana ; Smrčka, Luboš (advisor) ; Strouhal, Jiří (referee)
The Master's thesis deals with the indebtedness of Czech households. The thesis is divided into theoretical and analytical-practical part. The theoretical part deals with the home economic activities and lending. In the analytical-practical part the author describes the evolution and structure of loans provided to households between 1993 and 2014. The debt ratio is appraisaled in relation to bank deposits, net disposable household income, GDP, national debt and compared with households in the EU. In final the author runs to the conclusion that the current level of debt of households is not any problem for the economics and that there is not any danger of the rapid growth of indebtedness nowadays. Ability to repay debts is not too high as evidenced by the increasing number of executions and personal bankruptcies. The cause of difficulties is the low financial literacy of citizens and irresponsible approach to lending for both the creditor and debtor side.
