Plan for drought and water scarcity
Bakota, Filip ; Coufal,, Marek (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of the diploma thesis is to describe and prepare the pilot plan for drought and water scarcity for the selected locality, according to the prepared amendment of water law. Recent years have shown that drought will play a significant role in water supply in the future. Therefore, the need for tools to provide procedures and guidelines for individual administrations is more than important. The first part of the diploma thesis deals with issues of drought and water scarcity, climate change and prospects for the future. The next section describes a plan for drought and water scarcity. In the next parts of the diploma thesis, there are procedures that can mitigate or completely avoid the consequences of drought. From this informations, a pilot study of the plan for drought and water scarcity for the town of Počátky is being prepared in the next part.
The Measures Provided in Water Supply Systems in the Dry Seasons
Machač, Tomáš ; Netušil, Lukáš (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
The main objective of this work is to summarize the issue of water supply during drought. In a long dry periods may occur water shortage in water resources and difficulties in providing drinking water supplies due to this situation. The first part describes the drought in terms of meteorology and there is also described the occurrence of exceptionally dry seasons in Europe and the Czech Republic. The second part is devoted to water resources and their role in water supply systems. The following section describes the current status of legislation in the Czech Republic and water companies stances on the issue of drought and the creation of appropriate measures. The last comprehensive section is devoted to design concept of concrete measures that could be implemented in the future and can reduce the impact of drought on water supply systems and whole society.
Water demand in water supply systems
Pikal, Martin ; Tureček, Jan (referee) ; Ručka, Jan (advisor)
Within this diploma thesis were evaluated factors, affecting consumption of drinking water from water supply system. Evaluation of time series of water consumption and chosen factors was performed using tools of mathematical statistics. In the last step was performed a dependence analysis of water consumption using artificial neuron network ANN. Diploma thesis was solved in cooperation with company Vodárenská akciová společnost, PLC and Severomoravské vodovody a kanalizace Ostrava, PCL.
Technical Assessment of Water Supply Infrastructure
Hos, Lukáš ; Kučera, Tomáš (referee) ; Tuhovčák, Ladislav (advisor)
This bachelor‘s thesis is about condition assessment of water supply infrastructure. First part is about legislative demands on condition assessment and about methods used abroad to asses water supply infrastructure. Second part of this thesis is about application TEA Water. It is described how it works and it is used to condition assessment of fictional water supply infrastructure and choosen objects of real water supply infrastructure.
The Assessment of the Local Water Supply Vohančice
Sovák, Zdeněk ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the assessment of the municipal water supply system of Vohančice. It describes the current state of water supply, which is used to create a hydraulic model of the water supply network. The thesis focuses on the pressure and flow conditions of not only the current water distribution network but also the future planned extensions. Finally, options for measures for possible optimization of the water supply network are developed.
Assessment of the possibility of restoration and use of the historic gallery for supplying the village Mikulov with water.
Dědek, Jiří ; Zmítko, Jiří (advisor) ; Krásný, Otakar (referee)
Assessment of the possible restoration of the Mikulov historical water gallery. Creation of the engineering geological and geotechnical geological rock massive survey, rock outcrop survey and the closest surroundings survey of the mountain ridge through which passes the gallery. Engineering geological documentation of the rock structure, evaluation of the quality of the rock massif, creation of an engineering geological map and an engineering geological profile. Rock mass classification to geotypes and quasi-homogeneous structure units. Classification of rock massif according to tunneling classifications based on the survey results. Evaluation of the rock massiv quality and stability and suggestion of the further action of complete survey and remediation.

Analysis of clean waer supply in developing countries in the context of SDG framework
Kratochvíla, Patrik ; Cahlík, Tomáš (advisor) ; Palanská, Tereza (referee)
Since 1990, privatization of water and sanitation utilities has been promoted as a viable solution to their insufficient accessibility in developing countries, however its aftermath is disputed to this day. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the consequences and effectiveness of private-sector-supplied water and sanitation services in developing countries in the context of SDG. Using the panel data regression methods of fixed- effects and random-effects, the sample of 78 countries in the span of 29 years from 1990-2018 is analyzed to quantify the effect of private-sector and IMF (non-private) investment on expansion of water and sanitation coverage and the extent to which each of them helps diminish WASP mortality rate among the population. The results show that a) neither source of external financial aid significantly contributes to expansion of water coverage and decrease of mortality rate, and b) the degree of countries' economic development (measured by GDP per capita) is the most significant factor in the pursuit of water-related SDG.
