Monitoring fiber and protein intake in obese clients of a nutrition counseling center
Kekrtová, Magdaléna ; Pejšová, Hana (advisor) ; Weidenthalerová, Edita (referee)
The obesity epidemic is still a very topical problem and requires a comprehensive therapy that includes nutritional counselling. In my practical experience, the topic of protein and fibre tends to be very common with obese clients and I often observe less than appropriate choices in terms of protein sources. Fibre is not given much importance and therefore its adequate intake is not optimal. Therefore, the theoretical part aimed to summarize the current knowledge about obesity, protein and fibre. However, nutrition in obesity is summarised in a comprehensive way, taking into account other nutrients, but also micronutrients or drinking, which may also be significantly related to obesity. The theoretical summary of obesity was summarized rather marginally. In terms of treatment approaches, diet therapy, physical activity or psychotherapy are more approached. The importance of the nutritional therapist is not neglected. The practical part was quite comprehensive. The aim of the study was to assess dietary habits (qualitatively and quantitatively, focusing mainly on protein and fibre), body composition before and after the nutritional intervention and thus to evaluate the effect of the therapy. It was also intended to provide information on the original dietary habits of obese individuals in terms of...
Design of a lightweight manipulator for a robotic arm
Eim, Jakub ; Ržonca, Michal (referee) ; Vaverka, Ondřej (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis describes the design and manufacturing process of a lightweight and modular manipulator for Scara robotic arms made by Epson. The review part is focused on currently used heavy manipulators and contemporary possibilities of connecting carbon fibre profiles. The practical part of the thesis aims on deliberation about geometry of the manipulator assembly using FEM (Finite element method) and the manufacturing of the assembly. The thesis concludes with a comparison between the currently used heavyweight and the new manipulator assembly. The weight of the assembly has been reduced by 56 % while maintaining sufficient firmness. In the appendix are included CAD (Computer-aided design) files, technical drawings of individual parts and photodocumentaries of the whole process.
Optimalization of parts bonded by hot crimping
Liškář, Ladislav ; Řiháček, Jan (referee) ; Lidmila, Zdeněk (advisor)
The thesis describes the procedure for verifying the conceptual ideas of the company. Design and production of prototypes, testing and evaluation, quantifying savings. Two variants of crimped bond were chosen. For each was length of shaft changed to three and four crimped grooves. These prototypes were tested in two static and one dynamic tests. Recommendation for company is continue with other phases of development for shaft with four grooves.
Jig optimization for LED headlamps testing
Vobr, Michal ; Polzer, Aleš (referee) ; Sliwková, Petra (advisor)
The goal of this Bachelor thesis is finding the optimum for jig used as vibration testing jig in a company Automotive Lighting s.r.o. The condition of optimum is jig’s weight with preservation of mechanical properties.

CI-engine Piston
Tatíček, Marek ; Svída, David (referee) ; Ramík, Pavel (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with completion of the calculation FEM stress analysis of current type of CI - engine piston construction. Then it deals with design of new types of CI - engine piston construction including of their stress analysis. Analysis of advantages and disadvantages of single types of construction is made on the basis of results comparison.
Changes in fitness parameters after bariatric surgery
Černohlávek, Lukáš ; Matoulek, Martin (advisor) ; Kolár, Leoš (referee)
Introduction: Obesity is characterized as an excessive accumulation of fat that can impair health. Nowadays, obesity is considered to be a very serious problem that is becoming increasingly important as the number of obese people increases. One of the options for treating severe obesity is surgical treatment or performing bariatric surgery. These allow significant weight loss with a long-lasting effect, so they are a very good solution for highly obese people. Aim: The aim of this interventional study is to compare changes in fitness and body composition before and after bariatric surgery in patients in the bariatric patient register of the 3rd Internal Clinic of the General Faculty Hospital in Prague who underwent bariatric surgery in 2022. The aim is also to introduce in detail readers with obesity issues, especially with bariatric obesity treatment. Methodology: The monitored group consisted of 11 respondents from the register of bariatric patients of the 3rd internal clinic of the General University Hospital in Prague. For these 11 respondents, changes in fitness based on walking tests and changes in body composition using InBody measurements were evaluated before bariatric surgery and 3 months after surgery. Subsequently, from these 11 respondents, 5 respondents were selected, in whom it was...
Patients compliance during the process of weight reduction
ŠPAČKOVÁ, Kateřina
This bachelor thesis deals with patients compliance during the process of weight reduction. The thesis aims to chart patients compliance during the process of weight reduction. The theoretical part defines overweight and obesity and its variations, prevention, causes, diagnostic and treatment. The next chapter deals with compliance and definition of nutritional therapist and nutritional advice. The last chapter of the theoretical part describes recommendations for weight loss, specifically proportionate amount of energy, advice on nutritional and physical activities, also psychological recommendations for sleep. The practical part was founded on qualitative research, specifically case studies containing interviews, anthropometrical data, bioimpedance records and menus. In the beginning, there were eleven respondents taking part in the practical part but two of them resigned. Two research questions were raised upon the practical part. The first one tried to determine what factors are involved in patients compliance during the process of weight reduction. The second one tried to determine what is the real nutritional and energy intake during the process of weight reduction. Obtained data was later transcribed and later evaluated in the software program Nutriservis professional. Obtained data show patients abide by the recommended regime in different rates case by case as in active cooperation with it. Out of the most common factors determining patients compliance, we may highlight the support by close ones, checks up in nutritional counselling office, fear of illness or stress. Menu records show the real nutritional and energy intake of patients corresponds to the set-up reduction regime. Problems occurred case by case i.e. with fibre intake. Results of the thesis might be used as a source for education material or as a general guideline helping cooperation of patients in the nutritional counselling office.
