Langr, Lukáš ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor) ; Pecinovský, Rudolf (referee)
This thesis deals with the quality assurance of software developed within a small business and also it covers software testing as a means for checking the quality of software. The goal of this thesis is to reveal weaknesses in quality assurance of software developed with particular small business and weaknesses in quality of developed software itself. The real benefit of this thesis is to provide solution to discovered weaknesses by defining appropriate activities and tools of software quality assurance. The main purpose of these suggested activities is to improve the product quality to fulfill the expectations of users and developers. At first, it is necessary to determine the factors influencing the quality of the software and the causes leading to a decline in quality. This issue, together with the theoretical bases of software quality assurance is covered in the first part of thesis. The current state of quality assurance in the company is analyzed in the second part of the thesis. Appropriate measures, activities and tools that will help improve the software quality, are recommended based on the results of this analysis in the final section of this thesis.
An Analysis of the Impact of UI Conventions on Usability
Toušek, Pavel ; Šedivá, Zuzana (advisor) ; Buchalcevová, Alena (referee)
This thesis focuses on the impact of user interface's compliance with different platform conventions on usability measures and user habits. Theoretical background is provided by usability guidelines and preceding research papers on related topics. Conducted research incorporates techniques of unmoderated remote usability testing for obtaining quantitative data on usability of three different prototypes of the same web application with different graphical user interfaces. Confirmatory data analysis proves differences between prototypes' usability measures, more importantly, it proves utilization of different user habits in each tested visual interface type. These results broaden the knowledge of user habits in relation to the interface environment.

Development of web applications for mobile phones
Žabka, Michael ; Mittner, Jan (advisor) ; Buchalcevová, Alena (referee)
This bachelor work aims to describe the technologies used for developing mobile web applications, explain the differences between developing desktop application and mobile application, and give an example of mobile application. In addition to web application are in the work also mentioned the native application. Further the work analyzes mobile platforms and devices, and describes the differences between it. For web application development are described the most frequently used frameworks such as jQuery Mobile, Sencha Touch, etc. Work also describes the development environments and emulators that support the creation of mobile web application. For a given topic, there is a very austere literature and even fewer resources in the Czech language, so I decided to prepare this topic. The goal is achieved by gradually injected in to the topic, describing the current market situation and probable development of the sector. Subsequently are processed and explained most used technologies and principles of their use, especially using the programing language JavaScript. At the end of the work is created a sample application that demonstrates the possibilities of the web and also native applications.
Platform-as-a-Service for running PHP applications
Pilař, Štěpán ; Mittner, Jan (advisor) ; Burkoň, Lukáš (referee)
There are numerous web applications written in PHP language, most of whose requirements exceed common shared hosting offerings. This work deals with using Platform-as-a-Service solutions for running PHP applications. The advantages and disadvantages of PHP Platform-as-a-Service solutions are discussed in the first part of this work along with their effect on applications' architecture. The middle part compares available platforms with regard to their properties, functions and price models. The last part illustrates steps that have to be taken in order to accommodate applications' code for running in a cloud environment, moreover it demonstrates some of the advantages of cloud based web applications. The contribution of this work is in summarizing different aspects of cloud based PHP applications and a demonstration of running such an application.
Security of web pages
Totzauer, Tomáš ; Veber, Jaromír (advisor) ; Luc, Ladislav (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with security of web sites and includes a practical part about security of cloud services. There are described techniques of web sites security at this paper. Web sites use for its operation the HTTP protocol and more secure web pages use the HTTPS protocol, which also includes a security layer called SSL or TLS. Since the web application can never be safer than the protocol that is used, all the protocols and layers are further discussed in this thesis. Especially their characteristics from the perspective of safety, principles of their functioning, their security weaknesses and recommendations in order to reduce risks and increase their safety are closer clarified. The theoretical part continues in disquisition of encryption, related to security layers. Then in the same context, it describes the major certification authorities. The next section analyzes the security of cloud computing. The reader learns about the security risks in connection with the use of the cloud, about standards and legislation. At the end of the theoretical part, trends in the security of cloud computing that we can expect in the coming years are discussed. In the practical part, there could be found attacks against web applications that use both HTTP and HTTPS. Each attack is described in terms of principle and defense techniques against it. This thesis also includes recommendations for proper use of safety layers SSL and TLS which are used on secure web applications. The largest and best known providers of cloud computing from the perspective of securing their services are compared. In this area of IT, there are no borders, so that the world's biggest players are also the biggest in the Czech Republic. Both corporate and private cloud services are explained. For each service, there is a technical description of its security and a preview of safety policy of the organization that operates this service.
