Leisure time activities of children at special basic school and practical basic school.
LEPIČ, Jiří
The present Bachelor Paper is focused on leisure time activities of the pupils of primary schools - both practically-oriented primary schools and the special ones. As follows quite unambiguously from the theoretical assumptions, a meaningful use of leisure time by youth is affected by a number of factors. Literature specializing in the subject tells us a major role is played by the system of values and attitudes, but no less by the milieu where the youngsters are brought up. The Paper aimed to find out whether the parents of pupils attending the practical and special schools in Písek, Strakonice and Milevsko knew enough about organizations catering to the leisure time of children. Moreover, the Paper investigated the number of children engaged in the offered activities and examined the organizations they went to to spend their free time. The survey relied on three types of questionnaires: the first one was intended for parents of children going to the practical and special primary schools; the second one for employees of these schools; and the third one was designed for employees of organizations involved in providing the free time activities. The results returned in the questionnaires were then treated to statistical evaluation. Data obtained in Písek, Strakonice and Milevsko disproved my first hypothesis. My second hypothesis was proved true in its first part, but disproved in the second part. The results thus evaluated lead to this conclusion: parents of pupils attending the practical and special primary schools in Písek, Strakonice and Milevsko are not sufficiently informed on organizations catering to the leisure time of children. Attributable to this lack of information is the fact that most of pupils at the practical and special primary schools attended only hobby groups organized by the schools though they could choose from many more such hobby groups as their parents were ready to pay for them.
The active leisure activities for Romany children in the Prachatice region.
PETRŮ, Libuše
The Romany population is extremely disadvantaged nowadays. Romany children often pursue spontaneous activities and are vulnerable to pathological dependencies. It is a challenge for the majority community to prevent them from such activities and to offer Romany children quality leisure time activities. Spending leisure time effectively should be an obvious part of our children{\crq}s life. Leisure time projects have a favorable impact on the integration of Romany children. They are also means for social-pathological phenomena prevention in society. The aim of my thesis was to survey the attendance of Romany children at leisure time projects for children of majority community and their attendance at leisure time projects focused on Romany children. The research was conducted in the Prachatice area. I questioned providers of leisure time activities to find out about leisure time activities organized for Romany children and those organized for children of majority community. The results of my research show that Romany children attend regularly leisure time activities organized for children of majority community. Romany children also attend leisure time activities focused especially on their ethnic group. The comparison shows that activities offered for both groups of children are appropriate and welcome by all children. Romany representatives cooperate at program development focused on Romany children. But there is still a lot to improve in this cooperation. Greater activity of Romany parents will be welcomed. There is no Romany representative willing to get involved in organizing Romany children activities together with those who organize activities for children of majority community. The conclusions of my thesis may be used in a regional community planning. The organization providing services for Romany children may benefit from the results of my research. My research may be followed by another research, focused on Romany children who do not take part in any organized activities and whose parents do not cooperate with the organizers.
The social atmosphere and possibility of guided activities clients with mental disabilities in CR and USA.
ŠINKOVÁ, Hana
ABSTRACT The social atmosphere and possibility of guided activities clients with mental disabilities in CR and USA Finding out and contrasting a social atmosphere within the facilities in the Czech Republic (CR) and the USA as well as the possibilities of guided activities in there was the main objective of this thesis. The objective was met by observing the social atmosphere in organizations and analysing the responds of a questionnaire concerning the atmosphere. Following an interview with the facility{\crq}s management it can be stated that the American organization Road To Responsibility, Inc. does not offer 9 activities out of 36 referred to in the questionnaire (25%). On the other hand, Czech organizations do not make available 2 activities out of 36 activities listed in the questionnaire (5.5%). It can be therefore assumed that the hypothesis H1 - The US facilities provide a more extensive range of guided activities than the Czech ones - was NOT CONFIRMED. The questionnaire enquiries concerning the nature of the social atmosphere in organizations resulted in 10 points for the Czech ones as opposed to 12 points for those in the USA. Consequently, it can be stated that the hypothesis H2 - The awareness of the social atmosphere throughout the American Home Group system is higher than in the Czech facilities - was CONFIRMED. The research results concerning the H2 confirm that the US organizations look after their employees much more than in the CR. The Home Group system is similar to nursing homes in the CR. However, clients of all types and degrees of disability live there unlike in the CR. The Home Group{\crq}s task is to integrate disabled people into the society and afford them the opportunity to live a life most similar to a normal family life. The Home Group{\crq} houses are a part of a regular housing development and are not in any way separated. The life of American clients is more similar to the life of the intact population than the life of the Czech clients. In the CR, the clients are still considered sick patients who must be taken care of and be treated. The American clients do not meet medical therapies in such a way like in the CR and they are much more included in life similar to the life of the intact population. The Czech clients can satisfy most of their needs within the organization, therefore they do not feel the need to get out of the organization into the environment of majority population.
