Pre-hospital care for drowning people

The theme of bachelor´s thesis was Drowning in pre-hospital emergency care. There were set three goals that mapped paramedic´s procedure when they provide pre-hospital emergency care for drowning adult person. Further the prcedure of paramedics in providing pre-hospital emergency care for drowning child. Available rescue aids used in providing pre-hospital emergency care for drowning persons. There was also set three research questions which were answered during the research investigation. The teoretical part of the bachelor´s thesis was dedicated to pre-hospital emergency care, The Water Rescue Service and The Medical Rescue Service. The thesis further describes the definiton of drowning, getting drowned, first aid for drowning, basic emergency first aid and extended emergency resuscitation. Practical part was made by qualitative method using semi-structured interview technique, which contained 21 questions. The research group was made by 6 members of the Water Rescue Service of the South Bohemian Region and 14 paramedics from individual regional centres of the South Bohemian Region Medical Rescue Service. The results of the research was divided into 9 categories for clarity and processed into tables. The research showed, that members of the Water Rescuse Service and paramedics have sufficient theoretical knowledge as well as work experience in providing pre-hospital emergency care for drowning adult person. However, in the provision of pre-hospital emergency care for a drowning child, the members of the Water Rescue Service didn´t prove sufficient work experience. The interviews showed that members of the Water Rescue Service and paramedics are well equipped by rescue equipment for rescuing drowning person.
The history of lifesaving sport in the area of Czech Republic

The bachelor's thesis deals with the history of lifesaving sport in the Czech Republic and relevant areas that are closely related to this topic. This work is divided into several consecutive parts. Water rescue is closely related to movement in the aquatic environment, the beginning of which dates to the primordial community. The beginnings of water rescue occur during the 18th to 19th centuries in the world. In the Czech Republic only in the second half of the 19th century thanks to the establishment of the first rescue associations. With the development, organizations focused exclusively on rescuing drowning people gradually emerged. At the world level, it was headed by the International Life Saving Federation, in the Czech Republic by the Water Rescue Service of the Czech Red Cross / Czechoslovak Red Cross (ČČK/ČSČK). The first organized races in water rescue date back to 1871. Gradually, they became a tradition that continues to this day. Currently, competitions in water rescue are organized every year at the regional and national level. The Czech Republic participates in international competitions through a national rescue team.
Professional training and activities of Czech Red Cross Water Rescue Service members on water dam Orlík

The diploma thesis deals with professional training and activities of Czech Red Cross Water Rescue Service members on water dam Orlík. In the theoretical background chapter, the author introduces organization Czech Red Cross Water Rescue Service including legislative regulations, financing, system of education of members and also personality of lifeguard and its technical equipment. Resources gained for this thesis are from available literature, online articles and also internal regulation from Presidium of Czech Red Cross Water Rescue Service, which is not available to the public. Author contributes thesis with his own experience by completing courses to become lifeguard. In the practical part the author describes first aid station on water dam Orlík. The research part first deals with research questions, methods of data creation, then with the help of data analysis are given the answers to research questions. The used method of obtaining data is interview in brainwriting form with 6 professionals from integrated rescue system cooperating with Czech Red Cross Water Rescue Service on water dam Orlík and its members. Thanks to the ongoing crisis situation with world pandemic COVID-19 caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus, author was forced to communicate with respondents through email. Situation and all results are also summarized in SWOT analysis. Water Rescue Service should focus on maximization of strengths to minimalize threats. Overall, Czech Red Cross Water Rescue Service has two major challenges. Members should be more integrated with other rescue system members. Other goal is to elevate motivation of volunteers to serve in this public service. All results are the basis for Presidium of Czech Red Cross Water Rescue Service to set up action plan to improve its services on water dam Orlík.
Water rescue sport and competitions in Czech Republic

This bacherol thesis deals with the history od water rescue service both in the world and in our country. It also describes the development of water rescue as a sport in the Czech Republic and it describes its competitions and disciplines as well. The work is divided into several parts the first of which is concerned with the history od developement of swimming and water rescue service worldwide and in the Czech Republic. The next part describes the developement of water rescue as a sport in our country until 1989 and the last one deals with the period after 1989 including the new ILS rules which are used in some competitions in our country. Title: Evaluation of the number drowned people in the Czech Republic in the years 1994-2010 Aim of the thesis: Evaluate the number of drowning people in the Czech republic. Methods: Searches of available sources. Collecting data from the Czech Statistical office, media, information portals. Results: All the processed data was given in the context of the current causes of drowning people in natural waters, which can not be assessed to the short time generalize. In the month of July was a positive correlation between the number of the people drowned and the temperature. Results of this work can not be compared with foreign countries and assume that the results will be the same. Title: Evaluation of the number drowned people in the Czech Republic in the years 1998-2018 Objective: Evaluation of the number of drowned people in the Czech Republic, depending on age, sex and cause of drowning in the years 1998-2018. Methods: Search of available resources. Collecting data from the Czech Statistical Office and information portals. Results: The group 50-64 years of age in the terms of drowning is the most risky age group. The age group 10-14 years is the least risky. The ratio of all drowned men and women is 2,7:1. The most common cause of drowning is unspecified drowning. In many cases, it is not possible to determine the cause of the drowning. Objectives The main goal of this bachelor's thesis is to compare lifeguard education in Czech Republic, that is claimed by czech National qualification system and lifeguards education that is required by American Red Cross in the United States of America. Methods The methods used in this bachelor thesis are analysis, synthesis and comparison of those searched information. Results The results of this thesis are information about relevant lifeguard education in Czech Republic and the United States of America in swimming, rescuing drowning victims and first aid departments.
