Segmentation in microscopic images
T.Kovács, Matúš ; Jiřík, Radovan (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
This thesis deals with the segmentation of microscopic images from plant sections. It describes the importance of the histogram for obtaining information from the image, and the utilization of the wavelet transformation for the preprocessing of the images. The thesis describes and categorizes different segmentation methods. In the thesis we use MATLAB for the validation of the presented theories and as the interface for creating a software model. The created software application automatically analyzes and evaluates microscopic images.
Software for Biometric Recognition of a Human Eye Iris
Maruniak, Lukáš ; Orság, Filip (referee) ; Drahanský, Martin (advisor)
In my thesis, I focus on the task of recognizing human iris from an image. In the beginning, the work deals with a question of biometrics, its importance and basic concepts, which are necessary for use in following text. Subsequently process of human Iris detection is described together with theory of evolution algorithms. In the implementation part, is described the design of implemented solution, which uses evolution algorithms, where is emphasis on correct pupil and iris boundary detection.
ECG signals compression
Botlová, Simona ; Vítek, Martin (referee) ; Smital, Lukáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the compression of ECG signals using wavelet transform and run length encoding. The principles of electrocardiography, compression methods, wavelet transform and run length encoding are described in this thesis. There was created a program to compress and decompress ECG signals in MATLAB interface. The wavelet transform settings and their influence on compress ratio and percentage root mean square difference were tested. Subsequently, the appropriate adjustment of algoritm was found and it was used on CSE database compression.
The suppression of additive noise
Tuka, Marián ; Čala, Martin (referee) ; Šedivá, Soňa (advisor)
This thesis deals with theoretical analysis and application of methods suitable for suppression of noise from measured signal using programming environment LabVIEW. The first group of methods deals with frequently used filters FIR (finite impulse response) and IIR (infinite impulse response). The second one deals with modern method of removing noise with the help of wavelet transformation.
Static image enhancement using wavelet transform
Candrák, Matúš ; Rajmic, Pavel (referee) ; Smékal, Zdeněk (advisor)
In tomography and ultrasound signal processing, there is the noise build-up into the processing. Bachelor's thesis deals with static images highlighting, with denoising using wavelet transformation and edge detection with basic operators. This work describes some types of wavelts used for denoising of image and basic operators for edge detection in the image. The last part deals with a particular application for image processing, which was created in MATLAB.
GrooveSpired - Application for Drums Training
Štrba, Tomáš ; Beran, Vítězslav (referee) ; Szőke, Igor (advisor)
The main goal of this work is to design and to implement a mobile application for drums training. The application must be capable of displaying drum notation of different grooves from various music styles, playing audio examples of those grooves and also analyze and evaluate drumming skills of drummers. The main method for audio processing is discrete wavelet transform. Results show true value rate above 96%.

Detection of QT interval in ECG using first and second derivative
Rybár, Andrej ; Smital, Lukáš (referee) ; Chrobák, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with QT interval measurement and detection. The thesis starts with problematic of ECG signal delineation and its methods of detection of QT interval using first and second derivate. Next part of the work describes QRS complex detector. For this detection it is suitable to use detector based on the Pan-Tompkins algorithm. Next in practical part of the work is described algorithm of the detection of QT interval using first and second derivate. Selected algotithm was evaluated on the standard CSE database. Detected positions were compared with reference values. Result of this work is evaluation of results.
