Administration of digital library
Havelka, Michal ; Balej, Jiří (referee) ; Číka, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on problematic of management of digital libraries, more precisely it’s focused on standard MPEG-7 ISO/IEC 15938. The thesis defines description of multimedia content, its basic rules and more deeply it describes work with static visual data. The practical part of the thesis is focused on creating standalone application in programming language Java. Its purpose is using XML files to manage, save, search and for general work with visual data and its parameters. An application is focused on Scalable Color and Dominant Color descriptors and propose alternative calculation procedure by variable parameters.
Web Portal for Annotation of Visual Data
Petruželka, Jiří ; Beran, Vítězslav (referee) ; Láník, Aleš (advisor)
The purpose of this thesis is to design and implement an embeddable interface for visual data annotating. This interface would communicate with a given server for the purpose of acquiring and persisting data and receiving suggested annotations.
The reflection of athletes in Czech online media during the Summer Olympic Games in Tokio 2020 and Rio de Janeiro 2016
Jiránková, Karolína ; Němcová Tejkalová, Alice (advisor) ; Macková, Veronika (referee)
The main aim of the thesis is to analyse the portrayal of athletes during the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020 and Rio de Janeiro 2016 on two Czech news websites. In the theoretical part, the theoretical background, which is crucial for understanding the topic under study, is introduced. This includes, for example, the differences between public and tabloid sports media. Furthermore, the specific differences in the reporting of women and men in sport are presented, which has been greatly helped by the results of research already conducted. Last but not least, the history of women in international competitions, especially in the Olympic Games, was mapped. In the methodological section, the aim, sub-tasks and main research question of the thesis are described in more detail. It also outlines the research file and the method of data collection. The hypotheses and research question of the thesis are also elaborated, as well as the quantitative variables and qualitative indicators. In the analytical section, the results for the individual Olympic Games are already presented, showing, for example, that men athletes received more overall media coverage, in terms of number of media texts and length of media texts, than female athletes. At the same time, media coverage was balanced between Czech and...

Suchá, Renáta ; Potůčková, Markéta (advisor) ; Štefanová, Eva (referee)
Mapping of sea ice extent by help of remote sensing methods Abstract The aim of this thesis is to show utilization of remote sensing methods for monitoring of sea ice by way of an example of Beaufort Sea. In first part of this thesis resulting from the available information in the literature. A short principle of remote sensing is introduced. Some of observation satelites are mentioned, above all Envisat ASAR, whose data are used in the second part of this thesis. Further, some researches concerning the monitoring of sea ice are analysed. The applied visual and radar data are described in detail for monitoring of polar areas. The advantages and limit sof these data are mentioned. In the conclusion of this first part, the researches monitoring the sea ice in Beaufort sea are mentioned. The second part of this thesis is demonstrativ the extend of sea ice in two chosen areas in Beaufort sea. On the basis of eleven radar Picture provided for free from an European space agency, a classification of two type sof sea ice (first-year sea ice, ice floes/multiyear sea ice) was effected. In the watched areas, there was noted a larger extent of sea ice in 2003 than in 2009. The minimum of the ice area in both years was in the month of September. In the Picture, there is a perceptible progres of ice floes which is...
