Creating of Small Wineries Network

This diploma thesis drafts concept of winery based on business network of small wineries using synergetic effect. Critical analysis of macro and micro environment together with explorative research of small wineries was used as a starting point. Based on obtained information, concept of mentioned winery is proposed as an outcome of this thesis.

This diploma thesis deals with the creation of the business plan focused on expansion of the commercial company operating on the market of wine chemistry by one segment of production. More precisely the goal of this thesis is to design the business model of new winery which would use experience of current company management who possesses key factors of production indispensable for realisation of the intended project. Among the main factors we can mention ownership of vineyards with appropriate authorisation to operate in the market, foreign experts on oenology, Italian know-how on cultivation and manufacturing of wine and last but not least the access to capital especially to financial capital and machine facilities. Participation of potential co-investor would play an important role in this business plan. Thanks to his property interests he would help with the acceleration of partial plans and bring specialised market knowledge of the Czech wine-growing sector.
Evaluation of the Economic Efficiency of the Vineyard Planting

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to economically evaluate the effectiveness of the investment project of Winery X from Hustopece to planting the vineyard and compare it with the alternative variants of the implementation of this project with respect to the findings. The result of this comparison will then be the design of the optimal variant of the investment in the planting of vineyards for the Winery X. The bachelor thesis has two basic parts. The literary research introduces the problems of viticulture with a focus on the issue of obtaining raw materials for wine production and evaluation of investment efficiency. The actual work consists of quantification of capital expenditures and operating costs associated with grape acquiring and harvesting. In connection with the above objective, the costs, the return on investment, the net present value of the investment, and the internal rate of return to the different possibilities of wine grape acquiring are also evaluated.

The diploma thesis “Evaluation of growth and physiological characteristics and the quality of grapes of new PIWI grape varieties” contains information on qualitative parameters of the grapes in the must stage. A practical experiment on PIWI varieties ofErilon, Hibernal, Malverina, Mery, MI-4-120, MI-8-22, Rinot, Savilon and Vesna was used in the thesis and recommendationsfor agrotechnical practices related to the varieties and reaching the required qualitative parameters of the grapes were formulated.

Sevel, J. Grant support in viticulture and enology. Bachelor thesis. Lednice, 2016. The thesis deals with the issue focusing on obtaining subsidies in agriculture. To achieve this goal, I chose a program focusing on promoting young farmers to start and develop their active business. The first part defines and describes the various programs of European Union funds and the allocation of financial resources. Mostly the theoretical part consists of a description of the Rural Development Program. The foundation of the paper is detailed description of the steps of the applicant for obtaining grants. The second part focuses on the practical application of the theoretical knowledge from the first part and is devoted to a simplified procedure for obtaining the subsidies. The practical part is a description of the current situation and a plan for the future. I chose the program for a promoting young farmers, because it is mostly meeting the needs of my business plan.
Dopady koronavirové krize na vinaře sdružené ve VOC Modré Hory

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on wine producers of the VOC Modré Hory association. First, the czech wine market is specified. Characaterization of microregion Modré Hory and the local VOC association is mentioned afterwards. Later on COVID-19 pandemic is discussed inclusive of the impact on the wine sector. For the purpose of qualitative research selected members of VOC Modré Hory association were asked to participate in a semi-structured interview. The association provided support for the wine producers by launching a collective promotion in the online environment. Global impact of COVID-19 pandemic on wine producers of VOC Modré Hory association is unclear and its extent is affected by the ability of respective wineries to adapt to this new situation. Measures were taken by each winery individually.

The diploma thesis deals with viticulture in the context of the amendment to the Act on viticulture. The aim of the thesis was to formulate proposals and recommendations for strategic alternatives for domestic winemakers in connection with the aforementioned amendment to the Act on Viticulture. The first part of the thesis contains an overview of the literature, ie basic terms and knowledge that describe the given issue. The work itself is based on the analysis of the external and internal environment of winegrowing enterprises. Furthermore, the collection of primary and secondary data was conducted. Primary data were collected using a questionnaire survey and indepth interviews. On the basis of the marketing research, opportunities and threats and strengths and weaknesses were formulated, from which a SWOT matrix was subsequently drawn up. Based on the SWOT analysis, strategies were formulated that could be used by domestic winemakers in the future.
Viniculture and wine production from the legal point of view

Resumé The aim of the thesis is to provide a comprehensive overview of the current legislation of viticulture and winemaking in the Czech Republic, its historical evolution and it tries to approach the changes that shall be introduced by upcoming amendment of Act. No. 321/2004 Coll., on viticulture and winemaking and on changes of related laws. The work is divided to five chapters which are for clarity and better understanding of the issue divided to subchapters. The first part deals with the historical development of legislation of viticulture and winemaking in the context of evolution of the society and historical events that affected the development of viticulture and winemaking activities. The second part deals with the position of viticulture and winemaking law in the legal system of the Czech Republic and its connections with other branches of law. The third part provides complex overview of current Czech legislation of individual institutes of viticulture and winemaking law in relation to the provisions of the European law. The fourth part includes the overview of domestic and foreign organizations which activities are connected with aforementioned areas of crop production. Viniculture and wine-making from a legal viewpoint

Viniculture and wine-making from a legal viewpoint Abstract This thesis is primarily a theoretical treatise on the legal regulation of viticulture and wine-making in the Czech Republic. It aims to provide an overview of the current legal regulation of the most important institutes of both aforementioned fields, focusing on the Act No. 321/2004 Coll. on viniculture and winemaking, but also other laws and sources of law with regard to EU legislation. Emphasis is placed on the individual aspects of viticultural activity and the subsequent manufacturing of wine products and the conditions for their marketing. This thesis is divided into 8 chapters, including an introduction and a conclusion. The introductory chapters are focused on defining the position of the wine law in the legal system of the Czech Republic and clarifying the relations between the sources of law of viticulture and wine-making in the context of EU legislation. The main body of this thesis is included in chapters No. 3 and No. 4. These chapters are devoted to the current legislation in the field of viticulture and wine-making. Waterworlds of Nové Mlýny: Ethnography of winemakers and climate change

This master thesis addresses issues reflecting the socio-natural aspects of draught, one of the devastating consequences of climate change which increasingly affects the Czech Republic. This work uses a field research facility located around reservoirs Nové Mlýny and views it within the waterworlds concept, a term established by authors Kristen Hastrup and Fridy Hastrup. Ethnographic research shows the impact of water and its scarcity on the landscape, local inhabitants and their relationships and practices. A particular focus is given to wine growers and their understanding of draught, climate change and ways for adopting good practices in an area which is gradually drying out. Furthermore, it captures the transformation of practices related to the maintenance of a vineyard and maps individuals affected by the problems of draught in that area.
