Ethics of Social Work from the Students´ and Helping Professions Workers´ Point of View
SEDLÁČKOVÁ, Marie
This study deals with ethics od social work. In the theoretical part, introduction to the issue is outlined and concepts which are often discussed in relation with ethics in social work such as the values and dilemmas of social work are also analyzed here. These findings are compared from printed and electronic resources of Czech and foreign authors who pursue this topic. The aim of this study was to ascertain if students of social work and workers in helping professions consider ethic as important and how these opinions are affected by the practice of social workers. The results of qualitative research were processed by coding. Most of the work is empirical, individual areas of ethics in social work are examined in interviews with thirteen informants in this part. Processed results show to which characteristics and skills the questined informants attribute more importance, which areas they consider to be dilemmatic and which methods help them in solving these dilemmas. Results also shows opinions of the interviewed respondents on the Social Worker's Code of Ethics of the Czech Republic, on ethically important areas, and especially on the teaching of ethics in social work which nowadays is not properly emphasized. After my research I believe that teaching of ethics should be a part of professional training because it is an integral part of the daily practice of social workers. Content of lectures such as ethical standards or codes is as important as are the ways in which these problems are introduced to students.
Ethical and psychological aspects of online counseling services
CHOCHOLOVÁ, Lucie
This thesis aims to introduce the basic problems of social status and internet consulting services to the reader. Here the service is seen in the ethical and psychological context because an internet counselor cannot do without these points of view when he tries to provide a customer service in the highest possible quality. I focus on the e-mail form of providing online advice as it is the most commonly used type of e-communication between a client and an advisor. Psychological and ethical determinants of the whole process are complementary, intersect, there are no single boundaries between them, whether from the point of view of ethics they are values on which to build human rights or the Code of Ethics for social workers, hence iKodex valid for social services in the online environment or from psychology perspective it is a virtual communication process between a counselor and a client, in which the art of communication, the changing identity of a man, manifested aggression, transference and countertransference and the actual on-line environment play role. The aim is to highlight the complex and ambiguous status of online counseling services.
Social work in the context of values, with a focus on homeless mothers and children
KRÝCHOVÁ, Vlasta
The study focuses on social work as work with values. In the theoretical part defines the concept of value. Values are later described in social work, families and shelters for mothers with children. As part of the research the values of shelters for mothers and children and the value of users of these facilities are then compared to each other, to what extent are the same or different. The research was conducted in three shelters for mothers with children through interviews. By document analysis the values of shelters on the quality standards of social services were measured. The questions used in the interviews are divided into several areas: family relationships, the relationship of mother and education and work in childhood and adulthood, the relationship of a mother to her children, their education and future occupation, partner relationships and additional questions. These areas should point out what is important to mothers and children. Using this information is possible to compare the values and social workers in shelters that social workers can be incorporated into the concept of the social services.
