Art Therapy in Special Education with Orientation on the Treatment of Speech Therapy

This thesis is focused on the application of art therapy in the field of special education. Gradually, it focuses on individual fields of special education and expands on the applicability of art therapy in speech therapy intervention. The theoretical part aims to define art therapy as part of special education. It describes the development and intertwining of three different areas: fine arts, psychotherapy and education. Defines the term of special indication of art therapy and approaches the specifics of art therapy in individual fields of special education. It also focuses on the main features of the drawing of people with disabilities. The thesis focuses next on the field of speech therapy, where it tries to make visible some parallels between the development of drawing and the developmental stages of character drawing and the developmental stages of speech. It also focuses on the application of art therapy in therapy in children and adults, in neurodevelopmental speech and language disorders and acquired neurogenic speech disorders.
