Barriers to Continuing Education of the Unemployed in the Age Groups Endangered in the Labor Market

Tomáš Kolomazník Název práce: Bariéry dalšího vzdělávání nezaměstnaných z hlediska věku ohrožených na trhu práce Abstract The thesis "Barriers to continuing education of the unemployed in the age groups endangered in the labor market" examines the barriers to continuing education in unemployed groups of age 15-25 and 50-64 in the Czech Republic, both of which are often referred to as disadvantaged in the labor market. These age groups are characterized by a low rate of participation in continuing education, while having very specific needs and problems. The aim of this work is to identify the most frequent barriers in the education of the above-mentioned groups, to find out the differences between them and to explore their sociodemographic predictors. For the statistical analysis, data from the Kooperace research conducted by the Fund of Further Education was used. The first chapter defines the concepts of adult education, disadvantaged groups in labor market and introduces different concepts of barriers to education. Furthermore, the most important surveys of adult education in the Czech Republic are presented. Unemployement of population in the Czech Republic

Unemployment is very complicated phenomenon nowadays. Many scientific disciplines are concerned with it. Unemployment could be researched from geographical, economical, social and psychological point of view. This problem is not only about the unemployed, but it also extends the whole society and the state. The main aim of this bachelor thesis is appraisal of unemployment, mainly from geographical point of view, searching regional differences of unemployment and effort to find out the causes of unemployment and connections with other phenomena. Psychological and social consequences of unemployment are briefly mentioned in the thesis. This thesis analyzes the period of unemployment since 1990 up to the present day (2014). The analysis also contains spatial differentiation of unemployment in regional and district level as well as in the level of municipalities with extended powers, comparison of unemployment of the Czech Republic and other European countries and appraisal of structure of the unemployed, more precisely the structure of registered job applicants. The important part of the thesis is definition of basic concepts and presentation of basic measures of unemployment ratings, which are used in the practical part of the thesis.
Effect of sites in the efficiency of active labour market policy.

This work is focused at the unemployment analysis in Prachatice and Čestký Krumlov districts in 2010 and considering of the locality impact on active labour market policy efficiency. The work should provide comprehensive view of ways and possibilities to solve unemployment at local labour markets. It should examine suitability of used tools of active labour market policy for particular groups of job applicants and confirm their importance for unemployment cutting, mainly at monitored groups of job applicants which are most endangered in labour market.
The history of slum care in Susice untill 1938

The study is engaged in history of slum care in Susice from the 14th century untill 1945. The above mentioned study contains a theoretical part, where I focused on social care in Bohemia, then I brought to your attention the history of Susice and at last my work mentions in detail the history of slum care in Bohemia dated from the first written sources untill 1945. I have chronologically described the developement of individual social institutes, foundations and associations, which devoted to the care of poor and sick in Susice.

Volunteerism of unemployed in public utility services in the Czech Republic Key words: volunteerism, volunteer, volunteering, programme co-ordinator, unemployment, unemployed, unemployment rate The objective of my diploma work is to describe and to analyse the volunteerism of unemployed people in public utility services in the Czech Republic. Particularly I describe the realization of the volunteering programme for unemployed in the town Tábor. In order to understand what is the main objective of this project and what profit can such a project bring to the unemployed, I had to mention in the theoretical part what is the main idea of volunteerism itself with a short description of its historical backgrounds and the basic legislative frame of the work with unemployed people. The chapter applied to the problematic of unemployment, target groups, which are the major subject of the unemployment and the problematic of negative effects of the unemployment can help us to reveal motives and expectations of unemployed people by the volunteerism. The volunteering programme enables to the unemployed to use meaningfully their time during which they are recorded at the unemployment office. By means of the volunteering service they gain new experiences and skills which they could use and apply in their new job. The volunteerism helps to the restoration of working and social habits of unemployed and helps to the prevention of the social separation.

The aim of my diploma thesis is to map problems of business enterprise in connection with subsidies provided by the Job Centres. In the theoretical part I define main terms, legislative frame, policy of employment, and the topic considering enterprise establishment including the programme {\clq}q Enterprise without obstacles and employment of disabled people``. Work plays unreplaceable role in the life of a man. It is an important condition of his/her worthy existence, it brings him/her material welfare but in the same time it gives feeling of self-fulfillment and utility to society. Work is determining for economical and social status of individuals, families and for stability and welfare of the whole society. After losing the work a man usually recognizes the real value of it. Unemployment as a result of the job market function is one the most important problems of the current world. One of the possibilities of unemployment decrease is increasing of job potentialities for job applicants who have no other way to get a job unless they set their own business. To realize chosen enterprise options job centres can provide financial support for covering of some of expenses necessary to set self-employment. This diploma thesis focuses on problems of subsidies provided to beginning enterpreneurs by the Job Centre in České Budějovice. As a quantitative resarch work the method of questionnig (questionnaire technique) was used together with the method of documents analysis (technique of data secundary analysis). This diploma thesis tries to find out the effectivity of subsidies provided by job centres and to inform not only beginning enterpreneurs but also the whole society about conditions and possibilities connected with the beginning of the enterpreneur activities.
Burnout Syndrome Threat in the Unemployed

The topic of the bachelor thesis is a burnout syndrome threat in the unemployed. ?Work? has a great importance for the life of man; a paid job is, in the first place, a guarantee of a certain social and economic status. Having lost a job, an individual finds himself in a very unpleasant situation that can be characterized by a change in standard of living, loss of social dignity or prestige, and social isolation. Unemployment is therefore accompanied with a number of negative phenomena, influencing life in its full range and capacity. Lack of workload, destruction of the set time patterns of the day, mental pressure, as well as negative attitude towards the phenomenon itself, can be characterized as chronical stress with a negative influence on both mental and physical health. The bachelor thesis describes the problem of uneployment and burnout syndrome theoretically. As a part of the problem analysis, a sociological probing has been carried out, with the aim to access the level of satisfaction and burnout syndrome risks within a group of unemployed people.
The efficiency of active labour market policy in a selected region

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the unemployment in the Prachatice district in 2008 and to explore the efficiency of the applied instruments of active labour market policy. The thesis should provide a comprehensive overview of the methods and possibilities of solutions of the unemployment in the local labour market. To evaluate the suitability of the applied instruments of active labour market policy for individual groups of job applicants and to confirm their significance in reducing unemployment especially in observed groups of job applicants that are the most vulnerable in the labour market.
Unemployment and its Effects on Person Psyche

My thesis is focused on the hot actual topic, which is the unemployment. The aim of the paper is to show the negative impacts of unemployment. Firstly, I am trying to define the unemployment, labour market, participants on this market and active policy of unemployment. In the second part, I concentrate on the negative impact of unemployment which it leaves on the person{\crq}s psyche. I demonstrate the relationship between health and unemployment. Further, I describe the reaction of surroundings on the unemployment. I am also trying to show the possibilities of defence and protection from the unemployment.

The object of the thesis is to explain one of the phenomena of the Czech Republic{\crq}s modern history: unemployment, an issue with which the whole globalized society of the present has to cope. The thesis aims to draw attention to the impact of unemployment on an individual{\crq}s life, trying to outline the significance of unemployment in our lives and find out how much importance we attach to work and what losing a job means to us.The thesis gives a definition of unemployment, presents its evolution and types and explains national unemployment policy and ways of reducing unemployment. It studies the relations between unemployment and an individual{\crq}s health and deals with the importance of work for people. The thesis concerns unemployment and its social context. It looks at the issues of a loss of social status, a new social role of the unemployed person, his/her lifestyle and socially pathological phenomena occurring as a result of unemployment. In the end, the thesis offers recommendations to people who have lost their jobs.
