Increasing quality of the social service of home for the elderly in Karviná

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou standardů kvality poskytovaných služeb, konkrétně zvyšováním kvality sociálních služeb Domova pro seniory v Karviné. Cílem práce bylo zjistit, jak se projevuje subjektivní vnímání pracovníků ohledně způsobu poskytování sociálních služeb na základě jejich poslání, zásad poskytování služeb, osobních cílů uživatelů služby a jejich chování a postojů. Teoretická část je zaměřena na definování kvality, a to v souvislosti s kvalitou poskytovaných služeb domova pro seniory, měření a zvyšování kvality sociálních služeb. Dále se zabývá přístupy zaměřené na člověka jako model, který může být vodítkem "dobré" služby v návaznosti na možné důkazy o zvýšení kvality poskytovaných pobytových služeb pro osoby vyššího věku. Ty vycházejí především ze standardů kvality poskytovaných služeb. Postoje a chování pracovníků jsou sledovány v rámci empirické části ve vybraných situacích, které jsou v organizaci považovány z hlediska přímé péče a ochrany práv uživatele za rizikové. Na základě výsledků z ohniskových skupin jsou vytvořena doporučení, která mohou být základem pro změny v pojetí kvality v dané pobytové sociální službě a nastavení programu jejího zvyšování. Low-threshold facility for children and youth and their meaning and significance gaze of their workers

The main target of the children and youth low-threshold facilities workers is to motivate their clients to change their attitude towards life issues. They try to improve the clients' life situations and contribute to the improvements in the quality of their lives. This can be very complicated. My bachelor work concentrates on the facilities themselves, the use of the service, social workers, workers in social services and their opinion about the necessity of these facilities for themselves as well as for the service users. The aim of the theoretical part is to introduce basic information about low-threshold facilities for children and youth along with their function. The practical part deals with subjective perception of the meaning and importance of these facility workers.A qualitative research, with a method of half-structured dialog, has been used to collect all the information. The data collected by audio recordings has been transcribed into text form and evaluated afterwards.

Care of Drug Users - Quality of Services

Care of drug users {--} quality of services This work deals with the quality of care of drug users in the establishments of prevention and cure of drug addictions in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part defines the problem of drugs in society, the importance of services for drug users, the principle of evaluation of the quality of these services and its trend in the Czech Republic and the role of services users in quality evaluation of these services. The practical part describes the process of creating of an instrument for evaluation of services quality from the users view and its practical testing in a model establishment. Centrum U Větrníku v Jihlavě {--} contact and consulting centre for drug users was used as the model establishment, and the standardized interview with service users was used as an instrument of the quality evaluation. The Standards for establishment and the programmes providing expert services to problematic drug users were used as the evaluation criteria of quality. This way of recognition of users satisfaction proved competent and can be recommended to other services providers.

Specifies of social work in conditions of homeless hostels

Homeless hostels started being established on the territory of the Czech Republic in the beginning of 1990. At present they are institutions of social services providing persons in unfavourable social situation related with loss of dwelling with accommodation services of social prevention for transition period. The goal of the thesis was to characterize the homeless hostel for men as an institution helping homeless persons with social integration from the point of view of professional staff and to explain life fates and experiences of selected users. The work is conceived as quality research focused primarily on the issues of social work. In order to meet the aim, the following methods and techniques of data collection were used: interview with help of instruction, narrative interview, study of documents and observation. Rules of service provision, internal rules of the institution, social worker activities, course of service and its planning are specified in more detail on the base of the data from interviews with professional staff and their subsequent analysis. The work focuses also on the offer of activities with stress on possibilities of work rehabilitation of the users and compares the individual facilities according to specified criteria. Life experiences of selected users before they stay in the homeless hostel are described together with their expectancies and future plans. Two hypotheses were formulated on the base of the research.
