Psychosocial dimensions of quality of life related to people with intelektual disabilities living in shelteredhousing
Kasáčková, Jana
The dissertation deals with the psychosocial dimension of the quality of life of adults with mental disabilities in sheltered housing. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and the practical part. The theoretical framework deals with the quality of life and life satisfaction of adults with mental disabilities in the context of deinstitutionalisation and transformation of social services. The theoretical background is in line with the research focus of the thesis. The search for research papers and professional publications on the quality of life and life satisfaction of people with intellectual disabilities in sheltered housing indicate that there are not many studies dealing with this paradigm in this target group. Although nowadays we are meeting quality-of-life czech literature for individual client groups, it is in most cases an isolated constraint on specific areas, not the broader concept of a given conception. We assume that the decision on the life of the concerned person can not be limited only to understanding their needs based solely on the objectives of the service, organization or program. A person with a mental disability is a consumer of the service and their perception and experience must be taken into account by service providers and others. The goal of mixed design research...

The final part goes through real experiences with transformation in one particular facility.
