Toward issue toponyms in selected area
DIVIŠOVÁ, Kristina
The bachelor thesis is divided into a theoretical part and a practical one. The theoretical part contains general questions of two linguistic disciplines - onomasticts and toponomastics. At first, the thesis is based on the characteristics of the onomastic discipline, its history, division into subfields and its functions. The toponomastic discipline is elaborated in a similar way. In addition, attention is also paid to geographical proper nouns. The practical part is divided into two parts, both having the same goal - to pinpoint the development of toponyms, especially urbanonyms and, based on the theory, to perceive marginally the issues of these disciplines. The first chapter of the practical part is focused on the small town of Hrotovice and the second one on the town of Třebíč. Old maps as well as chronicles were used for the research. In the case of Hrotovice, the method of an interview was also used.

Minor Place-names in the Žďársko Region
Foralová, Michaela ; Hájková, Eva (advisor) ; Palkosková, Olga (referee)
This bachelor thesis contains 190 minor place-names from a part of the Žďársko region. Three types of minor place-names, which correspond to the three main chapters, are examined: hydronyms, oronyms and land names. The minor place-names belonging to a given group are listed alphabetically in each section. Each name is given the type of geographical unit and sources from which it was read out. The main objective of this work is to determine the origin of the examined anoikonyms. This research deals with word formation analysis and distribution of minor place-names into groups according to their significance. Various methods of collection, analysis and interpretation of the collected data were applied to create this work. A number of different printed materials, journals and internet resources were used to explain all the examined entries. It was necessary to attend an interview with witnesses or experts in the discipline of analysis, too.

The bachelor's thesis deals with some of Czech and Moravian place names. In terms of material, the thesis is based on the author's subcorpus of oikonyms. These oikonyms are somewhat specific (e.g. in that they seem to sound expressive). The thesis aims to describe such place names which are unconventional and unusual in terms of language, including the etymologic roots of their semantics. Additional focus was placed on what motivation had prevailed in the creation of these oikonyms.
