This work is primarily devoted to the penal law in the Age of Reason in Europe and in the Czech lands especially. The author describes changes in the conception of the penal law. He stresses the new principles in the science of penal law and in penal codifications. Among these principles draws attention mainly to the equality and secularization of the penal law as well.
