Use of selected textile techniques in a program of extracurricular activities of children in the homes of children and youth

The aim of the bachelor work was to learn about suitability of including and utilizing of textile technologies into the children and youth free time activity. To evaluate experiences and interests of school- and student-girls attending three of the bees in Children and Youth House in Prague-Stodůlky. I used questionnaire investigation. The hypothesis that girls would be interested in fashionable dress accessories crocheting has not been confirmed. The girls preferred batik and embroidery. Further an activity program for textile materials processing has been developed for the bees mentioned. The program has been implemented in the period of September 2011 till February 2012. Were included in various textile techniques. To investigate girls' craftsmanship and knowledge I use direct observation method. The activity program has been proved well. To investigate about usage of textile techniques situation in other free time dedicated facilities a questionnaire investigation has been used. Respondents were students of 3rd year of pedagogue course combined study in UK PedF, Praha. Among frequently posted techniques belong batik, cloth painting and needle work.

The thesis topic is "Possibilities of Textile Materials in Practical Activities Subject in Primary School". The theoretical part is focused on the historical origin and evolution of textiles, summary of textile techniques, sorting and its use mainly with pupils in the primary school. It also deals with project based learning and conceptions, objects and competences of a pupil in the primary school in technical education in czech system of Framework Educational Programme for Elementary Education. In the practical part there are designed textile techniques that are processed into the original teaching projects. The functionality of the project was detected by using questionnaires for teachers of primary school. Some of the projects were realized in teaching in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year of the primary school.
