Work related musculoskeletal disorders in professional ballet dancers

Thesis title: Work related musculoskeletal disorders in professional ballet dancers Objective: The high demands of the ballet dancers' profession are reflected especially within the individual dancer's musculoskeletal body system which is repeatedly exposed to a physical load that is specific for classical dance. The objective of this thesis is to find out what are the work related musculoskeletal disorders ("WRMD") in dancers who work in the Czech Republic, what risk factors prevail and which preventive strategies are applied to avoid the occurrence of WRMD. Methods: The stated objective was achieved by means of a questionnaire survey, during which randomly selected women/young adults with vocational training in ballet who are/were professional ballet dancers voluntarily filled in a questionnaire. In total, 56 ballet dancers within the region of the Czech Republic took part in this survey. The questionnaire consisted of open and closed questions and its conception was based on the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire ("NMQ"), with selected questions adapted to the specifics of the ballet profession. The first part of the questionnaire consisted of questions related to sociodemographic data, the next part aimed to gather data on the musculoskeletal disorders suffered and preventive strategies...

I wanted to dedicate my Bachelor thesis to summarize personal and working life, career and pedagogic influence of Olga Borissova ? Pracikova, which is also a soloist for National Moravian-Silesian Theatre and member of Pedagogic group Janackova conservatory and gymnasium in Ostrava. Due to study in Kiev?s trade school, she?s influenced by Russian classic dance technique. Within her pedagogical activity she also use technique developed by worldwide known dancer, choreographer and artist Agripina Vaganovova. In this work I have tried to point out exceptional training of her technique and its usage within the dance conservatory environment. By personal opinion of O. Borissova, I would like to make the meaning and application of Vaganovova?s technique more familiar.
Female pantomime Representatives on czech Stages

This paper aims to present the leading women representatives in the field of pantomime in the Czech Republic since 20th century. There are not many of them, and in this field none of them became as successful and famous as for example Ladislav Fialka, Boris Hybner and others. Therefore, this work generally refers to the problem of womanhood in pantomime and issues with this theme. At the end, prominent representatives of Czech pantomime conform to the issues.
Oriental dance in the context of women's health

The thesis deals with the influence of Oriental dancing on woman´s health. The theoretical part focuses on the history of belly dancing - when and for what reason it actually came into being, as well as the disapproving if not downright scandalized perception of the society belly dancing has had to overcome in the last two hundred years and the role it can play in the life of every women today. The thesis also concentrates on the specific features of belly dancing and differences from other physical activities including all its health effects.The practical part includes an analysis and assessment of a questionnaire survey conducted with 82 dancing respondents of all age groups in randomly chosen belly dancing studios. The aim of the thesis was to ascertain the influence belly dancing has on all spheres of woman´s health. The research answered questions of how it influenced the life of the dancers, where they can see the positives and what the negatives are. The respondents agreed that belly dancing positively influences not only physical health but also psychological and spiritual. Oriental dancing substantionallyenriched their everyday life.
