What would you do if you found out that your relative has a problem with alcohol? Mapping the subjective availability of addiction services and other resources to help

This work is concerned with how people solve the situation if they found out that their close person dependent on alcohol. The main research objective of this work is to analyze the subjective availability of addiction services The theoretical part contains a description of alcohol dependence, information about the medical care for alcoholics and information on the current situation in the Czech Republic, the self-help groups. The practical part describes the process of the research itself. First, attention is paid to the methods used, which were semi-structured interviews and then analyzed them using coding, segmentation and categorization of data. Further research file and then presents the results of research, ie 6 categories that emerged from the interviews. Among the most important results is that almost a third of the respondents would not sought any professional help for their loved ones and public awareness of treatment options is low. Furthermore, the results show that more nearly a third of respondents have no confidence in the health care system, much of the distrust was caused by their own residence in the hospital, where they received a negative experience.
