Estimation of the Sediment Balance in the Selected Hydrometric Profile
Priesner, Radek ; Paseka, Stanislav (referee) ; Marton, Daniel (advisor)
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to evaluate the balance of suspended sediment load, respectively undissolved substances carried in suspension in the selected hydrometric profile. The work also contains methodical instructions for measurement and subsequent evaluation of sediment load, based on the Austrian methodological manual Leitfaden zur Erfassung des Schwebstofftransportes (Habersack et al., 2017). The calculations will be used as a partial basis for the project ATCZ28 SEDECO – Sediments, ecosystem services and interrelation with floods and droughts in the AT-CZ border region. The practical application will be implemented on data measured in hydrometric profile Přibice on the River Jihlava where continuous measurement of suspended sediment load has been taking place since 2019.
Specification of the movement of sediments in the selected section of the flow in the vicinity of the polder Žichlínek
Kaizar, Jan ; Půža, Pavel (referee) ; Veselý, Jaroslav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis defines sediment transport in selected section of Moravská Sázava river, and Ostrovský potok stream in the area of Žichlínek detention basin. The first part of the thesis focuses on documentation of the current situation of the selected area. Following part deals with granulometric analysis of taken samples and their assessment. Next part is dedicated to calculation of the amount of the sediment, and suspended solids in the studied watercourses. The final part of the thesis describes as the sediment transport impacts on both the stream bed clogging, and the passage of a flood wave through the area.
Dependence of Sludge Thermal Pre-treatment on its Dewatering
Žerava, Zdeněk ; Houdková, Lucie (referee) ; Boráň, Jaroslav (advisor)
The first part of the thesis is focused on the problems related to sludge and evaluates sludge disposal from waste treatment plants. The thesis mentions factors influencing method selection of sludge disposal as well as it compares sludge disposal in the Czech Republic and in the other states of the EU. It describes a complete waste treatment line and sludge disposal in the area of sludge treatment and disposal. It deals with sludge disintegration and describes the most effective methods of disintegration. The second part of the thesis describes an experimental part of disintegration of waste treatment sludge. An experiment was conducted in the school laboratory in a way of thermal disintegration in the double-surface pressure tank. The disintegration was conducted to temperatures of 60 °C, 90 °C, 120 °C, 150 °C, and 180 °C. We monitored dependence of the sludge dry residue content on disintegration temperature as well as content of suspended solids in liquid fraction (FUGAT). It was possible to choose optimal temperature of disintegration in accordance with processed results.
Assesment of basic characteristics of waste water from the Dermacol Company
Fribertová, Marcela ; Zlámalová Gargošová, Helena (referee) ; Vávrová, Milada (advisor)
This master thesis is focused on waste waters from cosmetics industry and basic indicators of these waters. The pollution of the environment caused by increase industrial development has a negative effect on ecosystem. Waste waters are part of the pollution. In theoretical part a basic indicators of waters (its definition and way of determination) have been described. Membrane processes for water purification have been mentioned as well – particularly the ultrafiltration. The experimental part of thesis deals with practical determination of indicators mentioned in methods described in the theoretical part. Results are discussed at the close. The discussion is focused on evaluation of efficiency of the device for waste waters adjustment, which is in use in the Dermacol company, which produces cosmetics products.
Level scraping systems of settlement tanks
Rusník, Tomáš ; Hort, Filip (referee) ; Brandejs, Jan (advisor)
Main topic of this bachelor thesis is analyse of settlement tanks scraping equipements in sewage plants. Settlement tank at the wastewater treatment plant is part of the so-called bio-lines, which is used for the separation of activated sludge from waste water. Activated sludge settles in the settling zone. Part of the sludge flotates to the surface of the tank, usually in the space between the inflow cylinder and overflow edge, respectively. This sludge, biological or chemical origin, may, at the massive occurrence, outflow to the recipient and causes worse quality of the effluent. The sludge is therefore necessary to remove from surface of the settlement tank. Some of the different systems of sludge collection have been developer during last decades. The equipments and their function are descriped in my work.
Flood protection of City Chrudim
Kostelecký, Jiří ; Půža, Pavel (referee) ; Veselý, Jaroslav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on flood protection of Chrudim city. In the beginning the work is dedicated to documentation of the current condition of the watercourse Chrudimka and to flood control methods used on the river. The following part is dealing with records about floods in given area from history to present days. In the paper work is explained how to behave during the flood and which signals are there to inform. The last part is devoted to sediments in the Chrudimka River and to their impact on clogging of the watercourse of that river and to overall impact on the Elbe River.
Jak se mění kvalita vody na odtoku z rybníků při jejich výlovu
VÁGNER, Martin
The goal of this diploma thesis was to characterise the change of pond effluent quality during fish harvesting period. The change of water quality variables were measured and the pond draining stage at which fish harvesting activities affect most the quality of pond effluent was identified. Results and observations should help with the development of technology for retaining the sediment and nutrients discharged from ponds during fish harvest. The monitoring of pond effluent quality was carried out in twelve ponds managed by Krajské školní hospodářství České Budějovice in South Bohemian region. At different fish harvest phases, water temperature, concentration of dissolved oxygen, conductivity, turbidity and pH were measured in situ with a multiparametric probe YSI EXO 2. At the same time, water samples were also taken to quantify the concentration of suspended solids (SS), total phosphorus (TP), particulate and dissolved phosphorus (PP, DP) and total nitrogen (TN). Water samples were processed in the laboratories of the state enterprise Povodí Vltavy in České Budějovice. Our results confirmed that draining and fish harvest have significant influence on the quality of both the pond effluents and probably on the water bodies located downstream of the ponds. The largest changes of monitored parameters were caused by the time of active movement of fish and people in fish harvesting area. The active movements include setting the tanks for fish sorting, fish scaring, and seining. The highest concentrations of suspended solids, total phosphorus and total nitrogen were detected at the stage of catching fish with hand nets and surface outflow after the end of fish harvest. The changes of values during the fish harvest were considerable (% higher than pond water) and was fast. Therefore, best management practices aiming at reducing the concentration of SS, TP and TN may be implemented starting from the stage of fish netting until the closure of the pond outlet. Dissolved phosphorus has been identified as the key parameter causing eutrophication. The results of our study revealed that fish harvest is not so important problem from this point of view. During fish harvests obviously dominated particulated phosphorus which part was in average more than 99 %. The quality of effluent discharged during fish harvest was mainly influenced by the biomass and type of fish. Weather, water level regulation and type of outlet device influenced the effluent quality as well but at a lesser extent.

Impact of fish pond harvest on water quality especially on
FREIDINGER, Jan
The topic of this thesis is the impact of fish pond harvest on water quality especially on concentration of suspended solids and phosphorous. Goal of the study is to contribute to ongoing discussion about carp aquaculture's role in fresh water pollution. Sampling was carried out in five carp ponds in the Třeboňsko Protected Landscape Area. Main monitored parameters were concentration of suspended solids and total phosphorous during pond drainage and fish harvest. Results of the study confirmed very negative impact of fish harvest on water quality in recipient water.
