Absence of Rites of passage in liminal situations

This dissertation seeks to evaluate the absence of rites of passage in the context of indi-viduals´ marginal life situations. The aim of this research is to describe rites of passage and to highlight its importance in the contemporary age. Furthermore, it proposes an implementation of rites of passage in the area of social work due to its potential to aid in dealing with difficult life situations. For example, it can be used as a tool in group the-rapy for people with substance use disorder diagnosis, in social work with terminally ill patients or the bereaved dealing with grief. In addition to that, it is also a useful tool for the work woth adolescents going through multiple life changes. Conclusively, this dis-sertation proposes the rite of passage as a valuable tool for social work with many groups of people, and also seeks to encourage other social areas and individuals to im-plement rite of passage in their daily life.
The abuse of sedatives and hypnotics from the user's perspective

Background: Sedatives and hypnotics are substances to calm or relieve anxiety and to induce sleep. Long term prescription of benzodiazepines/Z-drugs may lead to the development of tolerance and the need to increase the dose. It is important to be aware of the risks of uncontrolled use of these drugs, such as harmful interactions with other substances, side effects and potential for abuse or addiction. Aim: The aim of this research was to describe abuse of sedatives and hypnotics from the user's perspective, to focus on circumstances leading to drug abuse, to describe beginning and course of the use of these drugs and self-awareness of the problem. The aim was also to describe the current state of users and their needs. Sample: The research sample consisted of 6 participants, of which 4 women and 2 men currently or recently using sedatives and hypnotics (specifically benzodiazepines/Z-drugs). Methods: Data were collected through a qualitative approach using a semi-structured interview. Interviews were conducted, rewritten into protocol summary, further analysed using thematic analysis, modified using open and axial coding and categorization methods. Michaela Zahrádka Köhlerová Title: Physical therapy led by a physiotherapist in patients with substance abuse disorder in the context of institutional treatment Abstract: Background: Substance Use Disorder (SUD) is a bio-psycho-social-spiritual problem, which is needed to be dealt comprehensively. Physical therapy is one of the appropriate additional therapies of SUD. Objectives: The aim of the theoretical part is to present current knowledge about the role of physiotherapy in institutional treatment of SUD. The main aim of the practical part is to apply a physical therapy (specifically aerobic activity in the form of jogging) in patients in SUD treatment. The partial aim of the practical part is to create a textual basis for educational materials intended for addicted patients, which would summarize fundamental information about jogging and exercise in common and would be a base for an autotherapy.
